After killing the biggest threat to their family and the world, Christine and Nathan are eager to move on with their lives, but Christine is sensing death stronger than she’s ever sensed it before. With Nate constantly threatened with losing himself again and a deranged girl with a motive to kill on the loose, a number of things can drive their happily ever after painfully out of reach. When these forces converge with the darkest sort of evil, even fate isn’t on their side. Failure would mean the end of the world, but success isn’t in any of the futures that she can see. With the deaths of everyone she loves closing in, Christine learns just how strong her enemies are and how long they’ve been after her.
I don’t even know what to say about this book. The fact thar Carter and Remi escaped the trap that finally killed Kamon got me so angry, just not more than Lydia being so stubborn about solving everything by herself when it’s obvious that she is loosing her powers advantages. No matter how many times Christine saved her before, the excuse is always the same. “I got caught by surprise.” I don’t think so, she just is not as fast and powerful as before, and her enemies are all very young and capable in baiting and catching her.
I like the fact that we get to see a more confident Christine, one that thrust what her powers show her, and follow her own path, she won’t stand for being just a normal human anymore, and I’m glad for that. I couldn’t stand all those times she took that “medicine” to dull her powers, now she knows she need it, and she’s getting even more comfortable and trusting of her own potential.
I was angry again with Sophia and Lydia that always found ways to dismiss Christine visions and discoveries about who is going to start the next war. And I guess they will realize soon enough that no matter what is the humor os state of mind of Christine, her powers show not what she wants to see, but what she needs to see. It’s like a whole new form of live, one that Christine is finding a way to communicate with.
I was surprise with the whole Remi’s pov thing, I guess we never really know how sick or obsessed she was with Kamon and now we see that her only reason for living was to one day meeting Kamon, becoming human and having some sort of romantic relationship with him, now that he is dead she is living for revenge, and she is always involved in all sorts of plans to use Christine loved ones and even her kindness to get her exactly where she want in order to kill her once and for all.
This book has a lot more action than it’s previous ones, mostly because this ultimate enemy has been planning this war for a long time and they have many allies and a lot of power, power that Lydia doesn’t have anymore. There’s a lot of battles too, and even though this book is just as long as the others, my reading in this one was much faster, I hardly saw the pages moving.
Great series, from the first to the last book, and great ending too.
As the suspense continues, Remi and Kamon continue to be a problem. All Christine wants is her family safe, to marry Nate, and have a normal life. Things heat up when she starts sensing death all around her. She's warned not to use her powers, but the potion she is supposed to take keeps slipping out of her hands. Is someone trying to tell her something?
Awakened is the final book in the Hidden Series and it's an awesome story. I enjoyed reading Christine and Nates story and the ending was perfect . Definitely a 5 star read!
This is my 4th time reading this series. I absolutely love it!! Every time I read it. I feel as though it is the first. Keeps my heart racing and my mind guessing..
Revenge gets you nothing. Remi has hated Christine since she met her. Many secrets come out. I love the way m. Lathan explains the connection of the school Christine grew up in and her life now. I live the way everything het tied together and there definitely is not a lack of battles. Tons of action and magic. Realy loved this book.
I'm giving it a 4.5-4.65 looking at the overall big picture of the book.
I just finished and the end made me so happy! It's a way cute way to finish off the series. I liked this book a lot, it kept my mind very busy with all of the many things happening. I enjoyed the journey very much. I think it would have been nice to get more info on Nate's on background though. We learned some, but I was hoping for more. The creepy coven was a nice touch, and the creepy possession was unreal...shivering on my couch thinking about them.
I did react very negatively to one section, the end fight scene...I'm having serious issues with this end fight scene. It is stupid and make NO SENSE WHATSOEVER. In the last book Christine had the power to TOUCH people and send them somewhere...why the hell wouldn't they (the psychics and witches protected by amulets) just send these coven people into one of their protected houses and let the spells take care of them? This fight scene didn't even need to be like this! It was way bloodier than necessary. Again, teleporting- the most useful and underused power in the fights.
So good! I loved this series. It had the right amount of twist and turns in it! It made me feel every emotion. I would yell at some of the characters, laugh at them and cry over them. I did enjoy seeing Chris develop threw the series. When we met her she was this scared little orphan and at the end she was this bad ass killing machine (not really, but you get what I mean). The final battle was some what predictable but still good. Overall it was a very enjoyable series and I am going to miss it. Oh and I love when Nate turns into Sparky! It always brings a smile to my face! Loved the dual point of views as well! Well done! I cannot wait to see what else M. Lathan has in store.
When I first started reading this series I was skeptical about whether I would like it. I had read the first book last year and had forgotten about it and then one of the series showed up on my list to read. I pulled up the first book and started reading again before I bought the other books. I'm glad I did because I fell in love with the characters. I couldn't hardly wait to get finished with one before I was reading the next. Ms. Lathan did an excellent job with this series. Definitely will recommend to my friends to read. I'm looking forward to more from her. Excellent writing!
A good ending to the series and the characters stories. The only thing I didn't like was this big secret magical council that no one knew about...seemed like an easy story line to go with. And at one point the "David" who was possessed by "Mark" but was fighting "Gary" possessed by "John" got a little hard to follow. But I would recommend the whole series.

I love this series but I felt this book was rushed I feel that it would have been better if it was split into two books. But over all I loved it and I wish there were more books after this one
It was a nice ending to the previous 3 books. Personally I would have preferred the story to conclude in the 3rd book, as this one was slightly drawn out, but there was still plenty to learn about the characters.
I enjoyed this series so much and I'm so sad that this this is the end thank you M. Lathan for this awesome series and for ending it so each character has closure.
This is a great ending to an awesome series...I recommend this set for young adults to complex readers... Its fun and full of interesting characters. Looking for what's next.
