This was a pretty decent book for those who may be interested in learning some French recipes whether they are children as the book is directed towards or even beginning cooks. Each recipe is given with its name in French followed by either its English name (I can't read French so I am not quite sure of the actual translation) or a English summarized description of the dish.
Furthermore the recipe is introduced by a paragraph that explains the origin and a bit about the dish so the reader can get a more general idea about what they are cooking. Furthermore there are two different sections on the page - one lists all the ingredients necessary for the recipes and the other also lists kitchen tools that will be necessary to the recipe. Than the rest of the page is dedicated to giving the steps needed to complete the recipe along with colored pictures to help the cook.
Most of the writing and steps are easy to follow along with although I did notice there was one particular area where the instructions were a bit vague. Still though I would like to give some of these recipes a chance to see how they taste and whether they may need some adjustments or not with other actual recipes.
There were one or two recipes where a step was missing, the measurements were wrong or even the information misplaced so that if the reader didn't carefully study the recipe before them there is room for the recipe's conclusion to come out wrong.
Otherwise this was a decent book upon the introduction of French cuisine to those who may be interested in it....

The kids enjoyed making a few recipes from this French cookbook. The crepes needed almost twice as much milk than it says.

BEWARE OF ERRORS IN THIS BOOK!!
The book is lovely with great pictures and easy-to-read instructions. However, we tried two of the recipes and they didn't turn out as promised because of a couple of major errors. In "Tarte aux fraises", they left the sugar out of the instructions. I suspect, after investigating other similar online recipes, that the sugar goes into the dough. When you mix the dough it doesn't stick together, so I'm a bit suspicious about the insertion of just "egg yolks" into the recipe since egg whites are the glue that, usually, holds dough together. We also tried "Hachis Parmentier" and the potatoes were way too soupy. I suspect their instructions requested more milk than was actually necessary. Two cups of milk is a bit much. Even when I make regular mashed potatoes, only about a cup of milk is sufficient. Someone needs to go back and do some re-editing on this book.

Slightly disappointed to not have a new recipe I was interested in trying, but happy to see that I do know a couple of simple French dishes!
