First of all I want to say don't be put off by the fact that this is #10 in a series. It can be read as a stand alone and loses nothing by doing so. I personally have only read three others so far and enjoyed them all. What I enjoyed about this one though was something a little different that made it stand out as unique and interesting. In it's way it is quite nostalgic as the whole story is told in the form of letters passed between the two main characters very reminiscent of pen pals and old ...more

I absolutely adore this story! The format is a series of letters back and forth between a soldier on the front line and an elementary school teacher in the safety of the city. I love watching their letters and relationship progress from formal to friendship to something more. I love the feeling of hope that runs throughout the story, that these two seemingly vastly different people have found each other through their correspondence. I love that there is a light at the end of the tunnel in regard ...more

Ever been in a reading funk and nothing seems to catch your eye? And then out of now where you find about that not only catches your eye but it keeps your attention till the end. I was so happy to stumble across this book. It felt like I had found an old trunk in an attic and was reading letters between a teacher and a soldier and was watching has the friendship grew. This was such an awesome book and I just loved it.

Kallysten is a writer of romance novels and short stories, most of them with paranormal elements.

Her first eBooks were published by Linden Bay Romance in 2005. The defunct Venus Press subsequently published a few of her short stories. Because so many of her stories are linked as series and part of the same universe, she decided it would make sense to have them all in the same place, which is why s
