And I thought being half Vampyre/half Demon was hard…That’s nothing compared to being a mother. Sweet baby Moses in a boob tube, there aren’t any books on raising True Immortals so let me give you a few tips…
~Make a map of every closet and bathroom in your home if you enjoy having sex. Sleep deprivation can cause confusion and a map will help if you only have seven minutes and thirty-one seconds. You’re welcome.
~Parenting books are useless if you're not human. If your child is half Vampyre/ half Demon I would suggest not using parenting books at all--they can backfire like a mother humper. Trust me on this.
~Have sex.
~When your child tells you he has an imaginary friend, do not discount this as fantasy. Often times your child isn't imagining anything. If he persists with alarming and violent stories about this fictional buddy it's probably a Troll. Do a thorough search of your home and kill it. Decapitation works best. Some imaginary friends are harmless. However, it's wise not to take chances.
~Have sex again.
~When in large crowds, make sure you hold tight to your child's hand. Losing a child in an amusement park is terrifying. If you're truly paranoid a parent could consider putting a chip in their child. If you do this don't discuss it at dinner parties. People will think you are weird.
~At least cuddle.
~Playing with dolls is fun. Being one? No so much. If your child ever finds a Genie in a bottle, flush it immediately. Many children wish for things that are very difficult to reverse...like being doll sized. If this happens, move to Oz. There are many people of small stature there. And yes, it really does exist.
Robyn writes because the people inside her head won’t leave her alone until she gives them life on paper. Her addictions include shoes (the expensive kind), Coke with extra ice in a styrofoam cup, and bejeweled reading glasses. A former professional actress, she now lives in the south with her family and too many animals to count. Writing gives her a chance to have a job where working in her P.J.’s is acceptable. Another freaking AWESOMELY OUTRAGEOUS book by Robyn Peterman! In fact, so far in this series, this may very well be my favorite. I LOVE the freaking characters that Robyn creates, both new and old in this book. In Fashionably Dead in Diapers we get to see Samuel, Astrid's and Ethan's baby who has some seriously wicked and amazing powers. He can do SOOOO much more then an average human baby and he did things that made me laugh my butt off! When he gets kidnapped Astrid and Ethan and some of their close allies, go on some hilarious adventures to get him back. I laughed and nearly wet myself from how freaking funny and entertaining I found this book. It was so good I swear I might be rereading this in the next few days just so I can read all the fun all over again. If you haven't read this book yet or any of the Hot Damned Series by Robyn Peterman then I suggest you hightail it to Amazon or Barnes and Noble or itunes and get your copies TODAY!!
Astrid and Ethan are blessed with a baby and parenthood is definitely not what they expected. The baby grows alarmingly fast, repeats whatever he likes and has some interesting powers. Astrid blames her crazy immortal family when there is a fiasco featuring giant stuffed toys. She realizes its time to put her foot down and set some rules.
A fairy attack forces Astrid and Ethan on a trip to Xanthia, the land of the fairies. This is how the fairies in this book are described :
They are very attractive, violent, selfish, reality TV obsessed freaks.
I love the part where vampires play board games and host game night every week.
“Ethan chuckled and pulled his child close. "However, it might be nice if you gave your Uncle Satan blue skin tomorrow. He would love that." The gasps in the room were hilarious. My Vampyre was evil to the core…I bit my lip to keep from screaming or laughing. Satan would look awesome as a Smurf. I needed to make sure my phone was charged so I could get some good blackmail shots.”
Whenever I pick a book by Robyn Peterman, I'm tempted to copy paste the entire book. Her writing is funny, smart and you can tell she had a great time when she was writing this.
First, a caution for readers of my reviews: this is definitely NOT a lesfic romance! MC Astrid is a delightfully foul-mouthed, irrepressible, irreverent and seriously horny at-all-times and in-all-places kind of girl….but she definitely likes sex with man-parts…exclusively.
This is Book #4 in Robyn Peterman’s “Hot Damned” series. Robyn writes wonderfully snarky inner monologues for Astrid, and terrific dialogue, and her words are brought to life on Audible by one of the best narrators I’ve heard: Jessica Almsay. Books 1, 2, 5 and 7 are also narrated by Jessica, which provides nice continuity for the voice of Astrid throughout the series. Books 3 and 6 are from other characters’ POV, and different narrators were used, which makes sense. (It took me awhile to get used to the different voice in Book 3, but I liked her; Book 6 is from a male’s POV with a male narrator, and I don’t plan to get that book).
If you like comedic paranormal hetero romance adventures written for adults, I can’t imagine finding a more hilarious series to recommend you read! Some of the humor gets repetitious at times, but things always move along so quickly you won’t be bored. 4* - highly recommended but not one I’ll likely revisit, so it’s not a 5*.
3.5 Stars Some parts were OTT and ridiculous, but there was heart at the end to bump it up. It’s an easy read where I can be entertained and not heavy but a light read.
This book is too ridiculous for words. It's obnoxious and silly. More so than any of the other books in the series. And it's funny and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Another great story. Thus one with Astrid and her baby. Exciting and funny. Another good series by Robyn Peterman. I will definitely continue this series. The narrator Jessica is wonderful!!!!! She really makes this right with her different characters.
Book #4 in an absolutely hysterical series! I had tears running down my cheeks while reading this! Let's just say raising an immortal baby is not easy at all, especially when you throw in God, Satan, Mother Nature, 2 old crazy vampyres, mini demons, mini elves, & some crazy Fairies! Then to make things more interesting your baby has powers beyond belief! I enjoyed the action, but most of all the zany characters!
Robyn Peterman does it again. These books in this series just keep getting better and better. Samuel is beyond adorable. Ethan and Astrid are sexy. Faeries can be dark. Mini Elves are vain. Jane and Martha well are Jane and Martha. I laughed all the way through this story. Counting the days until the next one comes out.
Oh.My.Hell, Robyn Peterman has done it again! She's succeeded in making me laugh my ass off (I wish)! Only warning, do not read this after having a 2 day stomach bug. She can dream up some truly craptastic visuals that will leave you in tears!
I love humorous paranormal romances and Robyn Peterman is a master. In this installment of the Hot Damned series, we meet Astrid and Ethan's baby Samuel. He is very precocious and it is fun watching everyone dealing with him. Samuel is kidnapped by dark fairies and Astrid and company go to Xanthia (home world of the fairies) to bring him back. Along the way we meet a mini elf named Susu. She is hilarious and hopefully will be a recurring character. There is a fun epilogue told from Samuel's point of view. Hopefully we will see more of his exploits in future books. I recommend this book and the Hot Damned series.
Another wacky, entertaining tale that had me laughing out loud. The stakes are higher in this installment since Astrid and Ethan's child is kidnapped; but, the bizarre course of events leading up to the child's extrication from the Fairies is comical.
This was a quick fun read! I have to say the plot is wayyyyy more coherent than the first couple of books in the series. Baby Samuel is a hoot 😁😁 and can’t wait to see what other mischief he gets up to. Fast paced, all the fun quirky characters, though this was an intro to the fairies and there are the elf equivalent to the little demons (ouch), named, Susu, Lulu and Huhu. Susu is evil fun 😁😁😁
Great fun with Ethan, Astrid and The Kev as the travel to rescue baby Samuel.
Robyn Peterman has done it again, she made me look like a crazy person smiling and laughing out loud in a room full of people. I don't mind though, this book was so freaking funny. I love that we get to see Astrid and Ethan's baby, and what he becomes. Being a parent is not easy, being this baby's parent could be deadly! I loved that so many past characters were in this book, who doesn't love, Pam, The Kev, Gemma, and Satan? "Sweet baby Moses in a boob tube" things like that just made me crack up, I have also happily added a few new swear words to my vocabulary. The beginning of each chapter starts with some very helpful parenting tips if you should ever have a half Vampyre/half Demon baby. I fell in love with this series from the first book, and I will surely be sad to see them end. I cannot say I will miss the accidental spraying of drinks out my nose. Well done Robyn, you are fantastic!
Robyn is at it again!! The latest installment in the Hot Damned Series follows our favorite Vamp Astrid as she navigates the challenging waters of parenthood. As if diapers and sleepless nights aren't enough, she gets the added bonus of trying to raise a child with special powers. What follows is a hilarious tale with plenty of excitement and (of course) sexy scenes! If you've grown accustomed to Robyn's fast paced humorous writing (as you well should have by this point in the series) she does not disappoint with this one! You seriously will laugh until pants wetting is a very real threat! Fantastic read and I highly recommend!
Another foul mouthed, freekin’ hilarious, laugh out loud adventure with Astrid, Ethan, their baby and friends. The title headings are funny child rearing tips and Astrid is a total hoot whether she knows who she is or not. When a Vampyre/half Demon and a Vampyre Prince have a True Immortal as a child things are going to happen. Just look at Astrid’s totally dysfunctional family. But Astrid is determined to be a great mother and f*@k anyone who gets in her way. When their son is stolen by the fairies Astrid, Ethan, and friends head to Xanthia to get him back and hilarity and mayhem ensue. This book isn’t for those without a funny bone. I loved it.
This is the fourth book in the Series and it was so much fun to read. Robyn Peterman has a great sense of humor and her books are filled with plenty of laugh out loud moments, action, some steamy romance that will keep you warm at night, and fun characters that I can't get enough of. Oh and lets not forget some colorful language as well. I would recommend you read the Series in order just so you know who all the players are plus they are so much fun to read and you will enjoy this book so much more. I can't wait to see what will happen next.
Motherhumping crazy a$$ good book(lol inside joke if you've read the book)! By far my favorite out of the 4. I lol'ed so many times it's not even funny. Ethan was extra smoking hot in this one too. Susu was an awesome addition to the cast as well. There's no book 5 listed on here but I did see the author mention there would be more. I hope they're out soon! This series is just too funny. If you like a foul mouthed heroine with a heart the size of Texas, one smoldering hot vampire prince and one insane cast of sidekicks I recommend giving these books a go.
Robyn always makes me laugh and she delivered this time again! Astrid and Ethan finally have their Samuel and its a trip! He can do things no one else can and its a riot to watch everyone keep up. Chaos ensues with some Fairies and Astrid might have lost her memory. All turns out in the end but not before hilarity ensues. I love the devotion and loyalty in this series.
Robyn never fails to make me believe in the crazy world's that she writes about. The fun and pure genius writing is hilarious and reading this seriously had me laughing out loud whilst on the edge of my seat at the same time... I'd so love to be a part of Astrids family! Lol This book centres on Samuel being kidnapped and the consequences are mind blowing.... A fantastic part of this amazing series... A series I will keep and re read again and again xx
I was disappointed with Fashionably Dead in Diapers. The story line was almost a synopsis of th e first couple of books. A trip down memory lane so to speak. And what wasn't being rehashed was just a person with a poor vocabulary. Let's see how many times we can use a four letter word in a sentence. Where is the passion the laughter and fun. Like many woman Astrid loss a lot of that when she became a mom.
Where do i begin? Robyn's books keep getting better and better!! I loved astrid, ethan, and baby sammy!! This series will keep you glued to your seat and wanting more. This book was one i was greatly antisapating, and oh boy, It was soo worth the wait!!! I cannot wait to see what robyn has in store for us readers next!
I absolutely loved this book and the whole series. I can't wait for the next one and for the wedding! I laughed so hard at the incredible characters. I actually feel like I know them. I'm about to read the whole series again. Thank you for this world you introduced me to.
It was great to read how Astrid and Ethan`s world had changed since the arrival of their baby, being supernatural AND coping with a baby it was bound to be chaotic.
Robyn Peterman has done it again and written a funny, action packed story with twists and turns galore, and a few new characters for good measure.
Yet another fab instalment in the fashionably dead series!
Loved it! Had me laughing out loud and making snorking noises nearly the whole book *giggle* Devoured in a matter of hours.. had to force myself to put it down last night so I could go to bed *chuckle* Was back to reading within a half hour of getting up.. finished it shortly thereafter *grin*
Re-read.. still love it.. and still laughed my arse off!
I haven't laughed so hard in weeks! As a mother of three there are times I swear my kids a devil spawns, thank God I'm not Astrid! This was a fun filled joy ride and I loved it!!
Another humorous book for the Hot Damned Series. Baby Samuel is more amazing than anyone expected and the idea that everything happens for a reason goes to a new level
