A solid read with a gripping storyline. I liked the mystery, it kept me guessing till the end. The romantic aspect was meh, ruined by an abrupt and implausible ending.

A convicted murderer is days away from execution when a body is found in the NC Outer Banks that has his signature. FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge Lincoln Frazer is dispatched to investigate as he doesn't want anything delaying this creep's date with death. He collides with Dr. Isabel (Izzy) Campbell who was one of the first on the scene and has a personal connection. While their attraction is immediate, it's in both of their best interests to not go there.

The fourth book in Toni Anderson's Cold Justice series. ASAC Lincoln Frazer is in North Carolina to investigate a murder that seems connected to a serial killer on death roll. Dr. Isadora Campbell is a former Army Captain that resigned her commission to care for her younger sister when her mother died. She had been out with her dog when she arrived on the scene of the crime and helped save one of the victims. Now she is renting a cottage to the FBI during their investigation. She and Frazer are ...more

Great book by one of the best authors writing today. I has small problems with the hero, Fraser. He was a controlling, cold jerk at times. He buried his emotions so deep that it would take a excavator to dig them out. The heroine, Izzy, was only a little better. It make caring for them hard to do. There were a couple of mysteries to be solved in the plot and it kept you guessing right up to the end.

Very well written suspense with the romance element not as compelling.

I was just going back and looking at my reviews for the previous books in this series and realized that each book is so different. Usually an author has some “trait” that carries over in their books – maybe something in the plot or the sex scenes or words used – I can honestly say there is nothing the same in these 4 books. We’ve had assassins and a secret group that takes justice in their own hands, a terrorist group and bombing on US soil, Russian spies and espionage and now two twisted serial ...more

I liked many aspects of this conclusion to the Cold Justice series. There was a really solid plot and mystery line as well as a host of interesting characters. I was happy to see the cold and businesslike Frazer get knocked off his pins in the romance department and find a woman to love!

The one thing that brought my rating down was a trope I really don't like, and that is the one where the suspense is artificially heightened by one of the main characters thinking or talking abou

This book in the series didn't hit any marks for me, storyline or romance. The chemistry between Frazer and Izzy was very bland and while the storyline was decent, several characters made it unbearable for me to even try to enjoy the story because of their uncalled for behavior. I liked Izzy well enough but when she let people walk all over her and didn't put up a fight to defend herself, I lost some respect for her. Frazer was cold hearted and and too uptight. I don't feel his heart was in it f ...more

I do love a good suspense series, and this one of them. It seems all agents are finding the love of their lives. The most emphasis is put on solving crimes, and the agents in this case are chasing a serial killer operating in the style a murderer seating on death row, and he is only weeks away from death.
FBI agent Frazier is determined to make sure the serial killer sitting on Death Row doesn’t gets away it, all because we have copycat operating in t

I have loved everyone of Toni's books and once again, she doesn't disappoint.

This romantic thriller is an example in its genre with an intricate balance between intrigue, suspense, and hotly charged romance.

The restrained and aloof Linc, familiar from the previous books in this series, finally brought to his knees, both literally and figuratively by a reluctant, but intrigued Isobel (Izzy). Izzy is a witness in the attack on two teens and is drawn into an investigation that not only features t

A little conflicted about this one. I really like the characters and the plot, but the pacing dragged in the front and it made me impatient. Still, as a crime/suspense, it had great twists.

This book did keep me totally guessing until the very end - love this romantic suspense series!
Toni Anderson seems to have hit the mark yet again with her latest installment in the Cold Justice series that I’ve been hooked on ever since it came out. Toni has a writing style that seems effortless in the ease with which she draws you in, and creates characters that tends to leave their mark on you. The fourth book in the series served all that and more and I cannot say enough good things about it!

Book 4 in the Cold Justice series by Toni Anderson. This has been one of my favorite psychological/romantic suspense series, but at a third of the way through this one, I still was not connecting with the M/m as easily I had in the previous books. This one just didn’t gripped me as quickly as the others. It’s not that it didn’t open with a horrific crime, it’s not as if the action didn’t start immediately. It just seemed to move more slowly once the investigation started.

Of course, maybe this a

This is such a great series! And the narration was fantastic!

I really have enjoyed all these books this is the 4th book in this series and I just pre-ordered book 5 which comes out in November. Can't wait.

This is one of the best romance suspense series ever! Okay, so I loved Frazer the hero, he is in charge of the BAU/FBI. He is strong, handsome, smart and doesn't want to fall in love at all! Well, he meets our herione, Izzy and he is done for, LOL. She is great too, smart, sassy and beautiful
Cold Fear is ASAC Lincoln Frazer's (or probably better remembered as the emotionless, cold bastard in the rest of the Cold Justice series) story, which happens when a mishap with Mallory Rooney and Alex Parker forces him to take a trip to the Outer Banks in search of a serial killer. It's there that he meets Isadora Campbell, a former Army doctor who resigned to be the legal guardian of her younger sister, and whose secrets will hinder his investigative work - despite how much they're drawn to e ...more

COLD FEAR is Book #4 in Anderson’s COLD JUSTICE series and another fantastic romantic suspense. This book centers around FBI agent Frazier and ER physiian Izzy Campbell. Frazier heads to the Outer Banks when the murder of two people are found to be related to an old case of a serial killer who is on death row. Izzy left home after high school and joined the Army, becoming a doctor. When her mother died of cancer Izzy resigned her commission to take care of her seventeen year old sister, Kit.

I hated how this one opened up, hated that innocence was shattered the way it was. It seemed like this opening was the catalyst for all the secrets that came out. I had guess a bit of what Izzy was hiding and knew it would cause problems when it came out. Sure enough it did cause problems with the fledgling relationship that Izzy and Lincoln were developing. But when push came to shove and the "bad guy" came after Izzy Lincoln realized what was important.

On a side note, I loved the phone call du

The setting is the Outer Banks of North Carolina, lots of sand dunes, plenty of places to hide the bodies! But who is behind the killings, didn't they have him locked up in prison awaiting his execution for this very same kind of killings?

Some carry over characters from the previous books in this series, plus some new ones - both likeable and detested. A couple of real good red herrings tossed in just to keep it suspenseful and interesting, plus a TSTL moment or two and of course a couple of ste

Super strong but realistically flawed characters that I was rooting for from the very beginning. Mystery and attraction, doubt and deceit, brains and brawn: Toni Anderson knows how to combine her ingredients to have you turning pages into the wee hours.

Best story in the series so far. Had me guessing until the very end.
“She’d do whatever he wanted to save her dog or her sister.”

Cold Fear by Toni Anderson is a suspenseful murder mystery set on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. It’s the fourth installment in the author’s Cold Justice series and my first Toni Anderson book. It’s primarily a pulse-pounding whodunit thriller with the romantic element secondary. The story kept me on the edge of my seat throughout hoping that the killer would be found quickly while dreading another victim.

This author has always been able to pull me in, keep me guessing as she entertaining me to no end. Between the author and narrator this was a hard to put down I wanted to know how it ended. Serial killers have always got my attention this is the next best thing to a true read. Trying to understand the who and why is mind blowing. Ms. Anderson pulls you in with her very talented mind as the narrator hooks you with his smooth voice painting a story of mystery and death leaving you second guessing ...more

I was so excited to listen to this series on audio! I struggle looking for what I want a lot with audio books. However, these books are perfectly what I’m looking for. I like my romances to be packed with suspense and mystery. I want intrigue and complete sexiness. I’m a hard person to please because I don’t just want a romance; I want a pulse-pounding situation with people who are sexy, smart, and interesting. I need the full package in audio books. COLD FEAR Book #4 in Anderson’s COLD JUSTICE series is a gripping murder mystery. Anderson introduces her two protagonists, FBI Special Agent Frazier and ER physician, Isadore (Izzy) Campbell. Both Frazier and Campbell are dealing with demons of their past that will affect their futures. The author shares the details of Frazier learning of the bodies of two young people found on the Outer Banks Crane Island somehow connect to an old case of a serial killer. OMG! GRIPPING FROM THE GET GO! Twisted evilness where present and past are firmly entangled. A story that is filled with more turns that will make your head spin. Toni Anderson knows her characters, their fears, their doubts, their insecurities, their strengths. Both also have a healthy respect for professionalism and look to deny attraction that is brewing.

I have loved each book in the COLD JUSTICE series thus far, and still hold a favoured, soft spot for Alex and Mallory… but Lincoln and Izzy

I liked the storyline, although it was murderously gross. And I’d just as soon we didn’t get to know Jesse and Helena before Helena was murdered. I mean, she was described as sweet and kind and loving, so it kind of stunk that you saw that before she was killed, then heard about it from everyone else after she died. I’d rather think about her being a total stranger who’d been killed.

And, I absolutely did not like Kit. That’s one horrible thing about teenagers being in books, authors thi
