TRISTAN AND ALEX
Fresh off the heels of yet another bad relationship, Tristan Brewer is taking a break from men to try to figure out where he keeps going wrong. He knows his biggest fault—he leads with his heart, not his head—and that’s never going to change. But after several introspecti ...more

It's me, not the book!
That cover should have been my first warning, those abs are too perfect, just like one of our Mcs Alex. Everyone especially women keep drooling over him but guess what he doesn't notice, coz he got eyes for only Tristan. Yay!
The story is Insta. The real INSTA! bam! boom! day one and they each have found the one.
Told in dual POV but i felt they sounded the same.
And thinking a guy's smile is sweet/beautiful doesn't make you a "pussy" and "look like a g ...more

But, let's talk about insta-love for a minute. Insta-love really really works for me in paranormal shifter/mate books. The heroes lock eyes and smell their mate's pheromones and they are off to the r ...more
Review going up on the blog soon but, bottom line, if you enjoy contemporary romance with two guys having some issues, not OTT in the angst department by any means, just enough to make you really feel for th ...more
Tempting Tristan is my first exposure to Melissa Foster, and I honestly couldn't finish it. I liked it at first, but then I started having issues, which I'll get to in a bit, and I kept waiting for something to happen that would grab me back from rating this book so badly, but the eyerolls won out.
Though I have more than this, here's the three biggest issues I have with the book:
1. I admit that insta-love in particular, and insta-lust even to a lesser degree, is ...more
Alex has some hang up about his condition. He still pretty much exude masculinity and sexuality, but showing his leg to someone is not something he want to do. While, Tristan is a really nice guy, is sounds like he acted like a total doormat i ...more
Aww shucks, was that sweet or what!
This is a first Melissa read for me even though I have her other books in my kindle shelf. Before I picked this up, I’m aware she’s a well established contemp rom writer but that’s about it. I guess I forgot why I signed up for an ARC for this, so imagine my surprise, delightful at that, when I started reading and realized it was m/m.
It’s the 3rd book in the series but a complete standalone; Tristan who me ...more
Tristan Brewer is supposed to be on a hiatus from men after another bad break up that left him feeling ignored and unappreciated. He is a bartender at the Taproom run by his friends. He is fully immersed in the community of Harborside and has great friends and support system, but his radar for decent men seems broken. He is caring, nurturing, and tender-hearted.
Alex Wells walks into the bar and immediately begins turning heads, including Tristan's. But Tristan is shocked when he is the one that ...more
Tristan Brewer was a bartender, working hard to move on from a bad break up when a mystery man came riding in on a bike. Once the biker Alex Wells spoke to Tristan, it was clear that Tristan’s current vow of staying away from men would not last
I like this story but it didn’t move me like I expected. It’s a story about two men struggling to heal from past wounds and find wholeness again. Tristan and Alex had some esteem issues that kept them from letting the other in, but as both guys re ...more
In the third book of the Harbornights series, Melissa Foster tackles a M/M couple. Not surprisingly, it’s a good book. I feel like Foster is able to take on any genre she wishes and excel at it. As an avid M/M Romance reader, I know I can be a little bit picky when authors who typically write heterosexual romances try their luck at M/M but Foster pens a believable and sexy story for Tristan and Alex.
I really, really loved T. He’s very easy to like and fall in love with. I think within the f ...more
“I always lead with my heart, and hearts are not nearly as smart as heads.”
Tristan Brewer is done with risking his heart. After another bad relationship leaves him hurt and angry, he needs a break from dating. And everything is going so well, until the sexy alpha Alex Wells walks into his bar.
You and me, T. I want this. For the first time in my life, I went looking, and I found you.”

We met Tristan Brewer in the previous books as a favorite. He was the gorgeous and loyal bartender at Wyatt and Delilah's inherited bar. He was in the middle of a relationship where his current boyfriend treated him poorly. Tempting Tristan began with Tristan single again and devoted to staying single for awhile. But the temptation was too great.

Both Tristan and Alex are dealing with their own issues. Tristan works in a popular bar in his hometown of Harborside and has recently gotten out of a troubled relationship. His ex would never fully commit and always had a wandering eye. This has caused Tristan pain and to have low self-esteem. He has decided he isn't going to dive into anymore relationships - ...more

I’m gonna be real honest the only reasons I picked this up were 1.) because the audiobook is narrated by two of my favourite narrators aka Teddy Hamilton and Jacob Morgan (drool 🤤) and 2.) because it’s M/M and I can never seem to find a decent M/M book.
This was really sweet and I liked it but everything happened really quickly especially when it came to their feelings for each other. I definitely think instant attraction is a thing but this was a bit too much on the insta-love s ...more
I had a very nice review and then I walked away to get something to drink. I come back and my computer decided to update and ....
bye bye review.
Now....where was I.... let's see if I can remember this....
so, Alex is new to Harborside. He was honorably discharged after being injured, dealing with PTSD and all the baggage that comes with being gay in the military. He's inherited his grandmother's home and decided to come to Harborside because of how much she loved the town and his love fo ...more
“Tempting Tristan” by Melissa Foster is a broken/damaged hero romance. This is my first venture into this author’s writing and overlooking a few plot wise issues I really enjoyed this story. It is emotional, passionate, healing and all over a really nice example of a contemporary romance.
Tristan has bad luck in men. He always leads with his heart rather than his head. That’s just the way he is but it makes him vulnerable to assholes, who take advantage of his giving heart and leave him ...more
"I'm the guy you deserve."
This book!! *praise hands*
I love me a good M/M book, and this one has made its way to one of my favorites!!
I fell in love with Tristan in the previous books within this series. He wears his heart on sleeve and can't seem to find the one man that he can trust to carry it. He wanted to take a break from all things love, but he didn't know fate was a funny thing.
Along comes Alex. My goodness.
This beautifully broken man grabbed my heart an ...more
This wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. It started off super good and the plot was really promising. Unfortunately the author didn't take the time to really development the plot she'd set up. She skirted over some very serious issues and instead had the guys jump into insta-love and into the trope of "the love of a good man will heal all of your problems." I wish she would have spent more time showing them falling in love and more time showing them working through their issues. It ...more
Old habits really are hard to break, right? Take Tristan Brewer, for example. Tristan is on a break from men—he’s still reeling from his last relationship and break-up. He’s always lead with his heart—freely giving it to those that aren’t so deserving. But just when Tristan has finally started ...more

Would have loved to have met Arty myself. What a great person she was and a great grandma to everyone. Lovely read!!
Tristan and Alex were cute enough characters, and both of them were likable in their own way. I'm just so picky about certain things, and Alex continuously calling Tristan "T" was enough to drive me up the wall. But I have specific reasons for that. 1.) my aunt makes her grandchildren call her that instead of grandma; and 2.) that's what my friend calls her dog.
Aside from that, the author really hammered in the point that Alex's military background is essential ...more
This is what I like to refer to as a sexually driven story. It means our leads are connected by their sexual attraction more than their intellectual one. Tristan and Alex jumped on their attraction almost immediately. While ...more
