Anyone unfamiliar with the idea of a reviewer going into a book desperate to love it has clearly never met Me When Faced with f/f NA. And I definitely found enough to like in the sex scenes that ordinarily I would've given this book at least one more star. But on Goodreads, 2 stars means "it was OK," and the biphobia in this book is not fucking OK.

First off, you have Janessa, the woman who "teaches" Delilah how to bang a woman so Delilah can bang Ashley. Now, apparently this sort of training req

Over the years, the definition of ‘relationship’ has evolved. With more interracial, same-sex and mixed faith relationships, society is starting to accept that love comes in different varieties. But, for Delilah, growing up in an extremely conservative home with parents who weren’t shy about expressing their distaste over same sex relationships, she was forced to conceal her sexuality. In the past, she had even dated guys to rule out her attraction to them and keep her family and friends from fi ...more

This book picks up not long after Catching Cassidy, and I couldn't wait to find out more about Delilah's story. This covers a female/female relationship line, which for some it might not be their cup of tea - for me I read anything and this was beautifully written that it didn't make no never mind to me that they were both women.

It will stir up a lot of emotions as you follow Delilah coming to terms with being gay and always wondering what people will think of her because of it. Her brother lov

The first book in this series really stirred up all kinds of emotions in me, and I couldn't wait to read this next installment. Discovering Delilah was no different. It picks up not long after Catching Cassidy left off. In book one, Delilah and her brother lost their parents the night after graduating college. It was a shocking blow, and Delilah is still trying to cope with its aftermath in book two. Delilah is struggling in a different way than her brother, because just before their death, she ...more

Started reading this and realized how little interest I have in a book by a non-queer person (that I know of from looking at the author's social media etc) that centers on a queer character's struggle to accept her orientation and come out.

Then I read this and was so happy I DNFed:

Discovering Delilah is the second book in the Harbourside Night series and my second book of this author. I had been seeing this book around the interweb and decided to take a chance on this book. As this author is one that I’m somewhat familiar with though I hadn’t read any until this week.

This book though it is standalone , carries on from events that were told in Chasing Cassidy. Delila

Book two in the Harborside Nights series.

Delilah grew up in a conservative household. One that she felt would never be accepting of her acceptance of being gay. She's known for a while that she liked girls more than boys and so she put up the front, with a fake boyfriend and never dating much less kissing any girls. The only people that know that she is gay is her twin brother and his girlfriend Cassidy.

Finally ready to tell her parents, she lets them know on graduation night, leaving her parent

I'm really struggling with my feeling toward the Harborside Nights series. I am so glad Melissa Foster is touching on LGBT topics, I feel it's something too many authors shy away from. So that's not my problem with this series. I believe it's the overall tone of the stories. They are wonderful stories but they really delve into death, grief, acceptance, guilt, etc. I'm not adverse to these things at all. I'm just having a hard time flipping that switch in my brain that assumes a Melissa Foster b ...more

I was asked to give an honest review from New York Times & USA Today. I would like to thank them for giving me chance to review a Melissa Foster book, Discovering Delilah.
This book was a different kind of read for me. It took on a lot of things that back in the day generations would not liked being talked about or even see it out in public. But today in our generation now these days are more open to new things. (Different Bubbles - Melissa Foster)

Discovering Delilah by Melissa Foster is the 2nd book in her wonderful Harborside Nights series. In the first book in this series, Chasing Cassidy, I fell in love with all the characters that Melissa introduced to us, including Delilah, the heroine of this book. I could not wait for this book, even knowing that this would be my first F/F read. Melissa is one of the best in giving us romances that are filled with love. My review for this book was due on July 9th, and I've gotta say, I've had the book done & review scheduled since MAY 29. After reading Catching Cassidy and reviewing it, I couldn't wait to read Delilah's story & learn more about her! I kind of wondered how well I would like the book because it is a female/female love story, and I've never read one before. I've gotta say though, this book was amazing! If anyone can p

I really, really wanted to read this one. It has been a long time since I've read a good F/F. I think Melissa Foster did excellent with it. Delilah has a lot of shit to deal with in this book. Delilah is discovering who she is. She is dealing with the death of her parents, suddenly becoming a business owner, and most confusing of all dealing with her feelings for her new found friend Ashley. Ashley has vowed never to be in another relationship where she is treated like the dirty littl

Discovering Delilah is my first Melissa Foster novel and it did not disappoint. This book features a group of friends living in Harbourside and each novel is a standalone focusing on different characters. Discovering Delilah focuses on a young woman who is struggling finding her place in society after the death of her parents.

For Delilah the death of her parents is the catalyst for events that follow. As she reminisces on her childhood and her relationships with her parents, she realises she has

Discovering Delilah is book 2 in the Harborside Nights series for New Adults and beyond. Delilah and her twin brother are still reeling from the sudden death of their parents in a tragic road accident on the night after their graduation. They've had to grow up fast, take responsibilities and trying to work through their grief.

Unable to stay at the Connecticut family home because it was too full of memories, they moved to the family seaside holiday home at Harborside. Here they take on running th

This is the second in the series, and another great read. It would not be essential to read the first book, but it is definitely an advantage (and a good story anyway!)

Ms Foster presents a compelling story about a young woman who has been struggling for a long time with her knowledge that her parents would not approve of her being gay. Now that they are dead, she cannot shake the guilt, yet so wants to move forward and be whol

Loved this book!!!! I was so excited to read Delilah's story. I fell in love with her in Catching Cassidy and couldn’t wait to see what was in store for her. In today’s society it isn’t as hard to “come out” and say you are gay but in this book when your parents drill it into your head that it is wrong, how would it be possible to tell others that you’re a lesbian/gay? Her family and close friends accept her. But how do you continue to live with this secret and then fall in love but are too scar ...more

This is a good story of two young adults coming together. Delilah is in the closest and getting over the death of her parents while Ashley is out and is getting over a bad relationship. While they want to be together they both have baggage that causes problems.

The story explores her parents apparent disapproval of the fact that she is a lesbian and why they might have thought that way. I thought this was well done and I like

I really enjoyed reading this book. This is book 2 in the series - I would say if you haven't read book one then you may want to read that first just so you can understand more of what happened and where the characters come from. This book has many emotions in it and if you are not a fan of FF reads then this book isn't for you. Overall the book is great and so worth the read.

This book was truly a romantic, heart-warming, and powerful journey to go on. I found Delilah to be a fascinating character to read about. The way she learns about her parents and why they acted the way they did was an excellent twist. I like how, with the support of her friends and family that she was able to admit her feelings for Ashley without being scared. Delilah became a strong, mature young lady who was capable of taking care of herself. This book definitely lives up to its title and I r ...more

This is book 2 of the Harborside Nights series and this one is the first to contain a same sex relationship. This book I’m assuming picks up after the first book in the series, Catching Cassidy. So, not having read the first book, I was intrigued coming in and seeing these characters with fresh eyes. To see if you could come in and not feel lost from not having read the first story.

Delilah (Dee) is this young woman who came out to her parents the night she graduated from

Discovering Delilah, the second book in Melissa Foster’s Harborside Nights subseries of her eponymous Love in Bloom series just didn’t work for me and it wasn’t because it’s an LGBTQ story. It’s because even for a modern romance story the plot line was a bit too unbelievable for this romantic cynic.
I will say I loved Delilah and Ashley the two main protagonists in the story. It was good to get glimpses of how her twin brother Wyatt and Cassidy were doing and to see all of their Harborside friend
