Great Start to New Series
The new Shotgun Saints MC series’ first book turned out to be unputdownable. I loved the fact that everything that Grace had gone through never changed what kind of a person she really was. Even when her past comes back, Shadow is finally stepping forward to protect the woman he has always loved from afar which was a promise he made to Grace’s brother to keep an eye on her and protect her. Now was the time for him to claim what was always his.
This was a big page turner with plenty of action and suspense that made this book worth every minute. I cannot wait to see what Ms. Knox brings next in this new series.

I read this the same day I got it. I devoured it. I loved it! I am so excited to have a new series by Elizabeth Knox to read! I love her books, she is one of my favorite authors and this book doesn’t disappoint! Characters are well thought out, strong female spirit. Loved the storyline; it’s a great beginning for the series. Can’t wait to read the next one when it’s available.

Overall, I rate it 3 ⭐out of 5 which means I enjoyed it and considered it an ok book, but it's not one I'll be adding to my list of potential re-reads. However, I will read books by this author in the future.

SHADOW is the first instalment in Elizabeth Knox’s contemporary, adult SHOTGUN SAINTS MC romance series, a ranching MC; a next generation spin off set in the author’s REAPER’S REJECTS world. This is club enforcer forty-six year old, Shadow, and twenty-six year old, DVM Dr. Grace Dalton’s story line. Grace is the sister of Shiver (Siren’s Salvation: Reaper’s Rejects MC: 2nd Generation).

Fast forward to present day, Phantom has become Grace’s guardian and protector but the past refuses to let go, and Grace is once again a target of the Copperhead Kings. Shadow never expected to fall in love with our story line heroine but the heart wants what it cannot have. With the Copperhead Kings threatening war, Phantom, alone with the Shotgun Saints and the Reaper’s Rejects make plans to take down everyone involved.
The world building focuses on the threats against Grace. Grace is a pawn, purchased by the Copperhead Kings, and as such, they was our story line heroine but there is more to Grace’s story, and the Shotgun Saints MC refuse to back down or give in.
The relationship between Grace and Shadow is forbidden; a secret affair predicated upon years of dancing around one another but our couple want something more than friendship, and when Grace’s father discovers the truth, our couple will find themselves without a home, family or support. The $ex scenes are passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
There is a large ensemble cast of colorful, energetic and familiar secondary and supporting characters including several members of the Reaper’s Rejects MC.We are introduced to Shotgun Saints MC president Phantom, Banshee, Grace’s brother Shiver, sister Dakota, and mother Jolene, as well as treasurer Rogue. The requisite evil has many faces.

The read is addictive and seriously cannot wait for the next instalment - Banshee. There’s a story here.

Huge fan of Elizabeth Knox and this one just made me an even bigger fan. First book in this series and she hit it right out of the gate. An amazing cowboy spin on an MC world. This is a story about secrets, lies, power, control, family, friendships, forgiveness and love. A page turner with plenty of action, suspense and swoon worthy moments. The main characters are freaking amazing to dig into and the additional characters are a great add on to the story. This was definitely one that I could not put down.
Grace is the MC Princess. She is the daughter of the Shotgun Saints MC President. She is suppose to be off limits. But she is "sold" to a member of a rival club the Copperhead Kings to help save the ranch when she is 18. But sadly something happens. From that moment on her, Shadow and her brother have a huge secret that is kept between them for years. Shadow promises her that he will keep her secret and keep her safe. Little does she realize Shadow has always been interested in her and been already watching and protecting her. Fast forward years later Shadow is ready to claim Grace and let everyone know that she is his. But the past is coming back to haunt them.
Will he be able to claim Grace and follow his heart? Will the past take Grace from him? Will her father find out and end everything before it can begin?
Follow the forbidden love story between Shadow and Grace which covers heavy themes but written to where you are drawn into the story and are more than happy to go on the ride.

Shadow is the enforcer for the Shotgun Saints MC. A few years ago he heard a gunshot. The only people in the clubhouse is Shadow, Bronco the VP, Shiver Phantom’s son and Phantom’s daughters. Shadow went to check out the gunshot and found Bronco dead on the floor and Shiver with the gun. Bronco had paid four million dollars in exchange for Phantom’s daughter Grace and he had just raped her. Shadow has been watching Grace for awhile. Shadow told Grace that that he would protect her after what happened. A few years later Grace is a large animal veterinarian and she works on the ranch that she grew up on. Shadow is about twenty years older than Grace but he doesn’t care he still wants her. Shadow follows Grace as much as he can and when she gets a threatening message on her car he decides they need to stay together. The message is from Bronco’s family wanting what is owed to them which is Grace. Grace and Shadow have sex at the ranch. Grace ends up wanting to be with Shadow as much as he wants to be with her. They can’t tell Phantom that they are together so they hide it. The Copperhead Kings MC come looking for Grace. They kidnap her while the Shotgun Saints are out supposedly meeting with the Copperhead Kings. That is when Phantom finds out about Grace and Shadow. Will Phantom kick Shadow out of the Shotgun Saints? Will Shadow get Grace back from the Copperhead Kings? Will Grace go with Shadow after he is kicked out? Will Shadow and Grace find a happy ending?

This dark biker romance tackles heavy themes, but unfortunately, the execution didn’t work for me. The 20-year age gap is already significant, but within the context of the heroine’s backstory, it feels even more problematic.
At 18, the female main character experienced trauma involving an older man—something so severe that her brother intervened permanently. That history is a defining part of her character. Yet eight years later, at 26, she becomes involved with the 46-year-old male lead, who is dominant and physically assertive from the start. What made this difficult to accept was how quickly and inconsistently her trauma seemed to disappear. She previously struggled even with basic intimacy, but suddenly she is comfortable with intense, demanding physical interactions. Later, elements of her unresolved trauma resurface again.
The portrayal of healing felt contradictory and unrealistic. Trauma doesn’t simply switch off and on depending on the needs of the plot. The emotional progression didn’t feel logical, and the pieces of the story didn’t fully fit together.
While dark romance often pushes boundaries, it still needs internal consistency and believable character development. For me, the extreme age gap combined with the uneven handling of trauma made it hard to engage with the romance.
Overall, this one wasn’t an enjoyable read for me. The premise had potential, but the character dynamics and emotional logic didn’t quite come together.

A great start to what seems is going to be an amazing series!
I really liked Shadow and Grace’s story! This was a rollercoaster from start to finish. Danger, action and emotions accompany every page. Grace is an MC princess. Phantom’s (Prez of Shotgun Saints MC) daughter. This MC is quite different from others, as they could also being considered cowboys – their farm consists of acres of land with horses etc. That doesn’t make them weaker than others though. Phantom leads with an iron fist. Shadow is his enforcer. The story begins when a decision Phantom made regarding an arranged marriage to another club (Copperhead Kings MC) for Grace leads to a tragedy that will forever leaves a mark on then eighteen-year-old Grace. Her brother, Shiver, avenges her and Shadow is sworn to keep her secret. Shadow was always interested in her – always watching, protecting her, waiting for the right time to claim her. When danger comes their way, he acts. A rollercoaster of event occur before Grace and Shadow find their HEA. I loved every line and was super excited when I saw some of my favorite characters from the Reapers Rejects MC make a cameo here – and play a big part in the plotline. So, this was an amazing start to what I am inclined to believe is going to be an awesome series. I can’t wait for Banshee’s story that is coming up next! 5 stars!

Ties in with Reapers Rejects MC: Second Generation: Nevada, precisely Siren's Salvation. Shiver in that book is the older very protective brother of Grace Dalton, second oldest of the Shotgun Saints M.C. President, Phantom. Reason why Shiver is in the Reapers, takes place in the prologue of this story and what he did to protect his sister from her than future husband and what he did when she was barely turned 18.
Grace Dalton was 18 when she was raped but her future husband, a man's who's M.C. family paid 4 mil for her hand in marriage and the outcome that caused one man to be in exile and the other keeping her trauma a secret and what happened to her attack. Now at 26, DMV (animal doctor) trying to live life her way, until her dad's enforcer gives her an alternatim...
Shadow no idea what is name is just his road name, 46, Enforcer, is tired of waiting to claim the woman he has been secretly in love with before she was legal, now at 26 he knows he should stay away but he's done waiting and he makes is stand and gave Grace the choice meet him that night and be claimed as his or don't meet and she's free until he hunts her down. As an avid MC romance reader, and a huge Elizabeth Knox fan, I’ll admit I went into Shadow a little unsure. A cowboy spin on an MC world? I wasn’t convinced it would hit the same way. But Knox did what she always does: she took a concept that could’ve felt gimmicky and made it gritty, addictive, and impossibly hard to put down.
Shadow, book one in the Shotgun Saints MC series, has that signature Elizabeth Knox flavor: razor-sharp pacing, a world that feels lived-in, and characters who don’t read like tropes on a page. They feel real. Messy. Fiercely loyal. Dangerous when they need to be. The kind of people you might not want to meet in a dark alley, but absolutely want to follow into a story.

Shadow is the 1st book in the new Shotgun Saints MC series. It's a drama-filled off-limits age gap romance between a club princess and club enforcer. We were first introduced to the Shotgun Saints and Grace in the Reapers Rejects MC and the Raiders Of Valhalla MC: New Blood series, and I'm excited we're finally getting their books.
Grace is the MC prez Phantom's oldest daughter and off-limits to any of his brothers. Grace's life took a wrong turn when she was 18, thanks to her father, and she was saved by her brother Shiver and the MC enforcer Shadow. Shiver was exiled and Shadow gave his word to always look out for Grace. Watching her turned into something more for Shadow over the years, and when he's about to act on it, an enemy club comes knocking wanting what they were promised, Grace. Their romance is a rollercoaster ride and the love they have for each other is what will save them in the end when everything is stacked against them.

Completely illogical plot. Within the first few pages of this book, Grace is raped by her father’s VP (who happens to be from a rival club🤔) and to whom she had been arranged to marry. Grace‘s brother, Shiver, shoots his sister’s rapist but she doesn’t want her father to know about the rape so her brother and Shadow don’t tell him the truth. They know Shiver will be outcast for this but they lie anyway. How selfish can the h be? She leaves town to go to veterinary school and eventually tells her dad about the rape a few years later anyway!
To add to this stupidity, there was also the issue of the 4 million dollars the club received based upon the upcoming arranged marriage. So they killed the rapist, h never had to marry him and they still kept the 4 million dollars??!! Years later (not sure what took them so long), the rival club demands Grace marry another guy from their club or the deal is off and they want the 4m back. Sounds reasonable, based on prior arrangement… but Grace’s dad can’t get the cash together (spent all or most of it?).
Anyway, the whole thing is stupid, as is Shadow lying to his president for all those years and also lying about being with Grace present day. He loses his place in the club because of it and is basically like “whatever”. 🙄

This new series, Shotgun Saints MC, is a spin off of the Reaper’s Rejects MC, Nevada series. This opens where Shiver (Siren's Salvation) has offed the VP, who is son of the Pres of the Copperhead Kings MC and his sister’s fiancé, for assaulting his sister, Grace. Both Shiver and Shadow agree not to tell Pres Phantom (Shiver and Grace’s father) what transpired to protect his sister.
About eight years later, Grace is now a veterinarian, and Shadow is ready to shoot his shot with her. Shadow is twenty years older than Grace but if she agrees, he will make her his, no matter what Pres says. Grace does agree, they just get started when the Copperhead Kings MC rear their ugly head and want Grace, the deal they had arranged years ago, with a different son. Shadow is a great start to a new series, Shotgun Saints MC by Elizabeth Knox. I have been a fan of her MC series but this new one has a twist. These guys are cowboys too. I love the blend they have and the genre blend works very well.
I love the characters of Shadow and Grace. Shadow being the club's enforcer is very protective person naturally. Grace being the MC princess she is strong due to her upbringing but when bad things happen Shadow, who has had feelings for Grace, steps up to protect her. Grace finally reveals her feelings but dating a brother's daughter, let alone, club Pres daughter, is a big no-no.
The group that we meet are an interesting bunch that I can't wait to learn more about them. I love when the world we are introduced to is one that feels somewhat real. Overall, story has everything you would want: action, romance, suspense of sorts, great well rounded characters and a world I can visit in my imagination. Can't wait to see where this series goes.

Book 1 of the new series of an MC/ Cowboys The Shotguns and we are introduced to Shadow an enforcer for the Prez of the club and Grace a very young and sweet girl and the Prez’s daughter. At the age of 18 Grace was promised marriage to a rival gang but due to a traumatic event it never took place, only Graces brother and Shadow know the reason why, but now years later her life is once again in turmoil, the club want what was due to them, creating danger and mayhem for everyone. Shadow who has been in love with Grace for years vows to protect her and destroy anyone that stands in his way of being with her. This is a dark, dangerous steamy age gap romance between a very possessive and obsessed MC who just wants Grace the FMC no matter the obstacles. Grace was great, loved the fact that no matter what happened to her she was still the same strong, likeable and loving character. Shadow had his moments but he really was just a man in love, my only dislike was the age difference(20 yrs it’s just too much for me) and the fact that what happened to Grace was kept a secret but it didn’t take away my enjoyment.

From the very first page, this book throws you straight into the story—no slow build, no long setup. Elizabeth Knox pulls you in immediately, and it works. The pacing is fast, the story is packed with action, angst, and emotion, and there’s never really a dull moment.
You’ll find all the elements MC romance readers usually love: loyalty, danger, intense emotions, and men who would burn the world down to protect the people they love. The atmosphere is gritty and engaging, and overall it’s a very entertaining read.
That said, there was one thing that really bothered me and didn’t make much sense. Phantom is portrayed throughout the book as a man who deeply loves his daughters and would do anything to protect them—yet the way Grace is “sold” doesn’t align with the personality we’re shown. I understand that this plot point is necessary to drive the story forward, but by the end, it still felt inconsistent with who Phantom is supposed to be.
Despite that issue, this was still a solid, engaging MC romance with strong vibes, plenty of action, and a story that keeps you turning the pages.

Loved this start to the new series. The characters all work well together, and the story line pulls you in and will not let you out . This is Shadow, enforcer for the Shotgun Saints MC and Grace is an MC princess and the president (Phantom’s) oldest daughter and off-limits. We were first introduced to the Shotgun Saints and Grace in the Reapers Rejects MC and the Raiders Of Valhalla MC: New Blood series.The action keeps you on the edge of your seat not to sure where it is all going to take you. I loved all the twists and turns. The relationship was spicy and kept you hooked. Once I started reading I didn't want to put this novel down. NO SPOILERS!!!

What I liked about this book: I loved that Shadow and Grace were all-in. 100%. Even down to the matching property tattoos, which is romantic as heck. Also, the action was very exciting and the HEA very satisfying.

Elizabeth Knox has, once again, produced a whopper of a reading gem in this book, which is book one of a new series. I read straight through because I just couldn't put this down. Not surprising, though, given Ms. Knox wrote it.
Book one centers around Grace and Shadow. Grace has a painful past and is learning to overcome it, all while keeping her inner light and strength. Shadow is a strong, protective alpha male, especially when it comes to Grace. She's the LOHL. Unfortunately, there's a threat of danger to Grace, and Shadow will, literally, risk everything, including his life, to protect Grace and see to it that she has the freedom and happiness she deserves.
Without question, this was a five star read, and I would very highly recommend it to anyone and everyone! I'm absolutely hanging for the next Elizabeth Knox novel!!
