A Cry of Fire

Rate this book
PRINCESS.

Luella Eritrais is broken. Half-winged and scarred, she is forced to grapple with the horrors she has survived and the wild magic inside her that does not bow to anyone. Back in the arms of her Vincire, she is no longer the Princess they remember. But how can she find herself again, when the darkness calls her name like it knows her?

FRACTURED.

Her magic thrums with the same growing fire that burns within her as she descends into luminous caves, where her power is grounded and desire ignites. She trains with her Vincire, who anchor and challenge her at each turn. Though this time, there are no blindfolds and blood vows, only the pressing need to choose her own fate and a secret act that binds them all. As her strength grows, so too does her awareness of the danger that looms and the threat of the Tenebrae.

FORGED.

To uncover truths long buried, Luella and her Vincire travel in secret to the desert kingdom of Avium, only to be swept into its annual Games. Challenged once more in body, mind, and magic, they fight for access to ancient archives that may reveal the truth of the power stirring within her—and the origins of the Luna and Solis fae. Through trials, Luella emerges like glittering desert sand under fire, a diamond hardened by flame, bound to her Vincire by her own choice and ready to face the war to come.

A Cry of Fire is book four in the Moon Song series. A new adult, why choose, dark fantasy romance. Reader discretion advised.

ARC REVIEW ~~

(Spoilers, beware) ‼️

Thank you to the author for the ARC!

WOW! Idek where to begin with this. A Cry of Fire was nothing like what I expected it to be (which is a good thing bc it blew me away)

There’s genuinely not one thing I had guessed right and it’s very rare for a book to shock me like this one did. I was left staring at my kindle on multiple occasions. The reveal with the collar.. I was shaking. I didn’t know sweet Lu had a side to her like this and to see her driven to act out broke my heart for her. Things were not easier by any means for her in this book and I’m beginning to expect they never will be. It’s more that she starts to take stuff in stride. By the end I was absolutely say for the way everything unfolded. She’s rly coming into her own and I feel so proud of her. It was so wonderful to see the guys be proud too. Tharen rly got to me this book. There were so many small things he did that that began to add up and I can truly start to see his character development.

This series will be a forever love of mine. It has everything I could ask for and more. I could gush for days about it. The journey of Luella, the sweet moments, the soft parts.. the gore, the heartache, the true violence. There were MANY scenes that made me gag. The violence was a lot in this one and I liked how nothing was swept away. Lu’s men are bad and it’s SHOWN. And it only makes me like them more.

I have no idea where the next book is going to go and I love how I’m kept on my toes. I don’t think I’ll ever get enough of this book series and characters🥺

♾️/5 stars.

Dare I say best book in the series…

I stayed up until 5am to finish this book, started it when the author sent to now.

Incredible read, I love it so much. It was absolutely perfect in all its glory. I cried, I laughed, and I was just so emotional reading this. Lu has gone through so much and seeing her fight through her trauma, and become the woman she is, truly is admirable. I loved the plot and I love each and every single man. RH books often with many men have difficulty finding uniqueness in each of the guys but this one, you won’t find that difficulty here. ALL THE GUYS I LOVE THEM, some may be batshit but I love them red 🚩.

The plot was 10/10 and the spice level was perfect. I love a book that can do enough spice without making it disregard the plot like genuinely this was perfect.

MY POOR LU THOUGH WHEN SHE HID UNDER THE BED… ugh that part with Vale just reminded me of Bridgerton iykyk…. BEAUTIFUL.

I wish I could just reread this and relive this series again.

Some of my favourite quotes:

“Survival does not pick and choose who is saved from the consequences of it. Survive first, then you can heal.”

“Then I’ll never be healed. You’re me, and I’m you."
"And together, we’re nameless," Luella echoed.”

"It is okay when you are with me. Cry all you want."

UGH LIKE THIS ISNT EVEN ALL OF IT I JUST WANT TO TAPE THIS BOOK EVERYWHERE.. too flipping insane. Need the next book like yesterday…
