An introduction to a fascinating subject, though hardly a substitute for tramping behind Julio late at night through snow in the woods of north Stamford, listening while he did owl calls into the silence
-- and hearing the owls call back at him. I hope someone taped one of his talks at the American Museum of Natural History or Audubon Society. He was fabulously entertaining as well as America's premier nocturnal-bird impersonator.
