They were continually at cross purposes—

“She understood one thing with every bone in her body: he could do anything, get anything done; it was terrifying how much competence, influence, and power he had.”

He realized that “Sweet little Ali had the jagged talons of a vulture, capable of ripping out a man’s heart in one fell swoop… and at this point in

I know "bad guys". I write "bad guys". Let me tell you...so does Lulu Astor! Eric Damien is about as bad as they get. He brought out every emotion in me as I read both MY HEART TO FEAR and BUT NOW I SEE!
This story is so much more than that of Eric and Ali. The characters are all so intriguing. I love the convoluted story, the twists and turns, the ups and downs. I was thinking about this story LONG after I closed my kindle on the final page.

All I can do is hope that others will

I read book one, My Heart to Fear and I thoroughly loved it. After that ending I was very excited to read this story. Lulu you certainly didn't disappoint me. Your writing never fails to blow me away.

I'm not going into the storyline in case you've not read these books. What I will say is this is a great conclusion to this story. It's a gripping read. My kindle stayed with me all day for when I could grab a few chapters. Yes it's that kinda addictive read. I loved it.

*First book "My Heart to Fear" should be read first. This book cannot be considered a stand-alone*

The first book left us, as readers, in the precarious situation of hating the author for the agonizing cliffhanger but loving her story and her characters. This book begins with the ongoing struggle of Ali Damien's relationship with her husband Eric Damien. The transgressions that Eric has imposed upon Ali are unforgivable as well as criminal. As Ali lear

The conclusion of My Heart To Fear is completely fantastic. We begin right where we left off. Ali is in a mental facility because her husband, Eric, put her there when she tried to kill herself and him. All false as we know but it seems luck has not been on her side when dealing with her monster of a husband.

Eric has done the unimaginable to Ali…..she would like him dead. He’s taking away her liberties, lied to her, hurt her in every way a person can be hurt….but does she still love him? Is the

The Damiens' (married ties as well as the blood ties) are one messed up family. This is truly one of those reads where you hate, hate, hate the antagonist, Eric Damien, while secretly hoping for some sort of redemption even though it seems there is no way possible he might be decent. And then bam, you have another viewpoint and reason to believe the victim might just be as bad as the culprit. Many characters to get caught up in makes this story one that will keep you involve

So, almost everything that I disliked about book 1, My Heart to Fear, was completely improved upon. I was completely engaged in this book and didn’t want to put it down. I read almost half the book in one sitting.

This starts out where book 1 ended. Ali is currently in a private mental health clinic and Eric is trying to figure out how to keep Ali under his control by legal ways or threats of divorce with no moneta

Loved this book. This is not a stand-alone book, you must read "My Heart to Fear" first. I was in awe and hate for the main male character, but in the end I was thrilled with the HEA. There was a wide variety of characters in these books, but not to the point where you forgot who was who, and who did what. It was fascinating to see what happens from poor choices made and when revenge, best served cold, affects many lives from start to finish. This story shows what happens when revenge, hate, and ...more

Fantastic!

I'm so glad I ran across this book from a review of one of my favorite authors. Eric and Ali are great characters. They are interesting and intriguing. As you read you discover you unfold so many different layers that give the characters such depth. Eric and Ali have a love, hate relationship. Eric has literally slashed Ali's wrists! How Ali comes to handle the whole situation is astonishing! They both have wronged each other, but can they get past it to start a family of their own?

This was a fantastic ending to a great story. You want to hate Eric. So badly, but there's something about him. Something you can't help but love. See if he can be redeemed in this sequel to My Heart to Fear. I'm not going to tell you, you'll just have to read to find out! ;)

He had a past that made him into the vengeful man he is today. She had a past that seemed to draw her to him even though she knew she should stay away. Would they destroy each other or would they transform each other? Amazing love story. A must read!!

This story was a hot mess of live obsession danger and intrigue. And I loved every minute of it.
Eric truly was one messed up man and his obsessive endeavours to get the girl were crazy. Over the top alpha male for sure.

A great conclusion to the series with (almost) all loose ends tied up. This duet series focuses on the fine line between love and hate and how these two obsessions can both lead down a dark path. The story advocates that everything can be forgiven and anyone can receive redemption through compassion, even after some pretty gnarly stuff occurs between the two main characters, Ali and Eric. I liked both characters, their good and bad (and sometimes scary qualities). This is a fairly good dark roma ...more

After reading My Heart to Fear by Lulu Astor, I could not wait for the second book to be released. So, when I laid my hands on But Now I See, I had major expectations from this book, but this book disappointed me on several occasions. The book begins right where the first book ended, Ali comes face-to-face with Eric's monstrous side.
As the book progresses, the second half becomes a tad bit boring. Apart from the main protagonist, there are other parallel stories in the book, which after sometime didn't

The first book ended on an unbelievable cliffhanger and I was vested into the characters that I had to read on. I knew there would be a shift in character for Eric to turn this storyline where it needed to go. Some of it was really good, but other characters drug it out and their storyline did not add much to the story. I felt other areas could have been expanded on to make this a really good read. It ended rather odd for me. It definitely could carry on to a 3rd book as it didn't wrap nice and ...more
