These short stories simply rock!

Criminal Investigator Cage Foster finds himself in deep conflict when his mother, who's suffering from Alzheimer's, is found bloodied and wandering the streets. The problem is the blood's not hers and when the body of a dead woman is found nearby, Lorelei Foster becomes the prime suspect.
Cage's cop instincts tell him all is not what it seems as he navigates from the sidelines. The story moves rapidly but doesn't sacrifice the strong plot or characterizations. It was fun following the procedural aspects, which helped me make the right deductions.
I'm loving these short stories, written nimbly around my favorite characters. They're incredibly interesting and I read this in one sitting...didn't want to put the book down.

If you’re looking for a quick, satisfying read, Stacy Green’s second Delta Detectives novella Dead Wrong is just right. A big fan of Ms. Green’s Southern detective mysteries, I was pleased to find that this one mostly focused on Cage Foster.
Cage is called to the hospital late one night to “handle” his mother, who is in the advanced stages of Alzheimer’s. Lorelai Foster is confused and agitated. On top of that, she appears to be the chief suspect in a suspicious death that occurred that night. Even though my mind knew it was fiction, my heart went out to Cage and his dad; thankfully, my mom’s dementia never caused her to become so agitated that she became violent, and she never wandered from home. Cage is called to the scene. When he goes to notify the victim’s next-of-kin, he senses something is not quite right. Even though he wants to prove his mother wasn’t responsible, he has to remain objective. How is that possible? Was someone else responsible for Margo Lewis’s death?
As a detective, Cage has good instincts. He is persistent. He is hard working. He seems to know just when to back off and when to push harder. As a son, a fiancé, and a father-to-be, he does his utmost to be there for his family. We also get to know the new coroner better. Summer Jordon is a tough, competent woman who is struggling for acceptance among folks who don’t take a liking to change. I hope to see more of her in the future. Because of the length of the story, we don’t see much of other familiar faces: Dani, Nick, or Jaymee. That is a shame, because they are all tremendous characters. That’s about my only gripe about this one – it was too short!

Detective Cage Foster gets a call telling him that his mother is in the hospital. Lorelai Foster was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Her health has been going downhill ever since. When Cage arrives at the hospital, he learns that his mother was found wandering outside. She is covered in blood; but doesn't seem to have any injuries except bruising. She has been given a sedative and is resting comfortably when Cage is called out on a case. The body of Margo Lewis was found in the local cemetery. It was apparent that she had been struck in the head with something. A cane was found lying near her body. Cage quickly realizes that it is his mother's cane.
This novella kept my attention. Cage doesn't want to believe that his mother may have attacked a woman and caused her death. He knows that her illness is making her act out, sometimes violently. He is afraid that she will be institutionalized because of what happened. When he notifies Margo's husband of her death, Cage begins to think that he is lying about what happened the night his wife died. My rating: 4 Stars.

Cage is stuck in a bad situation in this book. His mother has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's and the disease has progressed fast. She is found wondering with the blood of a dead woman on her and is being looked at for murder! Cage is working hard to find the truth and hopefully clear her.
I love Cage, he is such a great character created with integrity and charm but with the right amount of rough edges. Stacy walks us through each investigation step by step in a way that feels true to life!
Once again, loved the story and enjoyed the read!!!

well plotted keeping you glued to the book from start to finish.
Get ready to be get swept up into a puzzling murder where a
body is found near a bench in Adams County’s historical
cemetery. The body belongs to a vacationer from Chicago
staying at Annabelle’s Place. In the cemetery close by the body,
a cane is found…The cane’s owner, Lorelai is Detective Cage
Foster’s mother. Lorelai is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.
She was taken to the hospital in her nightgown covered with
bruises and blood that was not her own. She has no idea what is
happening…how she got to the hospital or why she was
wandering the streets at that hour in her nightgown.
The author presents the issues with the frustrations, trials and
distresses of Alzheimer‘s disease, domestic violence and women
enduring abuse from the men in their lives for the reader’s
enlightenment.
What happened in that cemetery? Was Lorelai involved? How
did her cane get there? What is the story with the vacationing
couple? You will enjoy this read.

WOW! What a page turner. I loved every minute of this book and got really upset when it just started getting really good and my kindle died on me and I could not get it to work. Luckily with the help of Michelle at Amazon I got it working and was able to finish it. Scott and Margo Lewis are on vacation from Chicago and staying at Annabelle's place. Margo is found dead in the local cemetery and everthing points to Cage's mom Lorelai as the murderer. Lorelai suffers from Alzheimers which is getting worse day by day. Cage does not believe his mom would even be capable of this. He thinks she was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Cage will do whatever it takes to find out what really happened. Another amazing story by Stacy Green. Looking forward to the next book in the Delta Detective series.

Detective Cage Foster is at it again in the latest Delta Detective series. Cage is called to the hospital. His mom has been found wandering the streets of Rosalea in the middle of the night. She is bloody and the police have taken her to the hospital. Cage tries to find out what happened to his mother but her recently diagnosed Alzheimer's has her confused. If that isn't bad enough she becomes combative with her son and has to be sedated and restrained. Detective Foster gets a call and has to go to work. A dead body has been found in the old cemetery and he must investigate. Things aren't looking good for him mom when her cane is found at the scene of the murder. Another fast read that I really enjoyed.

Stacy Green creates another amazing story that will leave readers on the edge of their seats in this gripping Cage Foster novella, Dead Wrong.
In the beautiful tourist town with old antebellum homes, the last thing the town needs is for a tourist to be found dead late at night. When Cage receives the call regarding a body found, he knows it can't be good, but he never imagines just how life changing that call can be. A young woman, out in the middle of the night is found clearly murdered. Without a witness it is hard to determine what has happened. But a bloody cane, and Cage's distraught mother covered in the victim's blood point all fingers towards her.
With advancing Alzheimer’s disease, Cage's mother, Lorelai can't remember what happened on that dreadful night. While she's shown surprising strength when the disease ravages her mind, Cage just can't believe that she would do something so devastating. With the woman's husband wanting to press charges, Cage looks for other suspects. Are they just scape goats or is Cage's mother being wrongly accused? As the evidence mounts and suspicion builds, this story becomes impossible to put down!

Dead Wrong is a short novella that reads like a full length novel. It is well plotted and executed by one of my favorite authors, Stacy Green. I was leary because I like a book I can sink my teeth into and stay with for a while, but this story had the feel of the real deal.
The angst of the main character came through loud and clear as he reacted to his mother's illness, his father's pain and the murder scene which totally implicated his dear mother's involvement. There is much to be said for a seasoned cop's gut instincts.
Many times when I read a novella, I feel the ending is rushed, but not in this case. The story flowed smoothly straight to the end and was a very enjoyable read.

Dead Wrong is a great mystery story. Cage Foster is back in the second book of Delta Detectives. This time Cage is faced with a possibility that his mother, who is suffering from Alzheimer, might have killed a woman tourist. There are overwhelming evidences against his mother.
With the help of the Medical Coroner, Summer Jordon, Cage is about to find out the truth.
Even though this is a short story in this series, I love the twist and turns of suspects and the overall of how the truth. All I can say is "Cage, keep trusting your instinct."

This is the 2nd book in the Delta Detectives Series.
A vacationer is found dead in the cemetery and all leads are pointing to Cage's Mother who has Alzheimers. He needs to try to find out if she could possibly do something as horrible as this, or if there is someone else that actually did it. Another page turner to find out the answers. Hard to put down and you want to continue reading the next in the series.
