I got the audio book of this and I made it exactly 8% in before I DNF this book. The sex scene between Milan and Lavender was so cringe worthy with all the talking, I immediately stopped the audiobook. This was definitely a NO for me and that’s surprising due to the amount of sex books that I’ve read. This was horrible and that’s 8% In horrible.

Pynk puts it all together in this book by delivering a compelling storyline and plot while incorporating all the scorching details of sexual activity among the characters. Make sure you're sitting in a comfortable position!

Straight up erotica. This book was very interesting and very raw. If you are into to swingers then maybe you would like to read this. I've never been a swingers type, but I'm glad I got to read this and at the end of book the author was very informative about woman getting to know their own bodies.

I think this was an okay read; to be honest I didn’t really know what to think of it. I went into it thinking it was going to be like Pandora’s Box, a movie starring Michael Jai White and the two actresses from The Player’s Club since it was a movie about swingers and it had a lot of drama. However, this book didn’t really make a big impact like the movie did, the characters were one dimensional, and I didn’t like some parts of the story. Overall, a quick fun read if you like plenty of sex and you’re interested in the swinger lifestyle.

Milan is the owner of Erotic City and I liked how she was always hustling. Thinking of ways to expand Erotic City, even writing for a TV Program about a swingers club of the same name. I even stood by her when she wanted to end things with Demarcus because of Ramada’s mess; I understood her not wanting drama from someone she was only connected to through him. However, she lost me when she re-hired Jarod to work at the club after finding him masturbating to her step-mother fucking another woman. Jarod was her sister’s boyfriend, and after he was caught masturbating to their step-mother, he actually ghosted Tamiko and continued having sex with Nancy! So the audacity of Milan to hire him back as if she couldn’t find another security person was crazy to me. Her and Tamiko seemed very close, so what she did didn’t make sense. I’d have been so mad at my sister for that.

Nancy was also a character who I didn’t necessarily like. She received a 6 figure settlement when she divorced from their father, a millionaire musician. Their father divorced her because he had suspicions she was cheating on him (she was), and still gave her a 6 figure settlement which she agreed to. When he dies, she tries to come after more of his money and feels she has a right to it. It is one of the main conflicts between Tamiko, Milan and her. That’s why I again felt Milan was crazy for offering Nancy one of their father’s houses to live in after finding out she was living in her car and had gotten raped after blowing through the alimoney she received. Nancy literally slept with her sister’s man with no remorse, and yet Milan gave her sister a place to stay afterwards in the name of “peace”. I swear, if I was Tamiko, I would have been furious at my sister, but Tamiko found her a new man in Keenan so I guess she didn’t really care.

A whole lotta sex scenes that didn't appeal to me, sprinkled with a plot that also didn't work for me.

I'm obviously not the target audience.

Milan Kennedy is the proprietor of Atlanta’s steamy Erotic City. A trendy swinger club that she runs with help of her boyfriend, former heavy weight champion Lavender Lewis. Running the club is no easy fete but by offering her patrons the chance to live out all of their kinky fantasies Milan has managed to do very well for herself. But when a patron accuses a popular rapper of forcible rape in one of Erotic City’s VIP rooms Milan’s club comes under intense scrutiny. Making the situation much worse is the fact that the alleged victim just happens to be Lavender’s psychotic baby’s mother; Ramada.

Ramada is not only jealous of Milan’s and Lavender’s relationship but she’s sworn that she’ll never allow Milan and her swinging lifestyle to be anywhere near her son. Totally forgetting that it was her alternate urges that drove her and Lavender to Erotic City in the first place, destroying their relationship yet spurning the one between Lavender and Milan. Thus making Milan and Lavender’s relationship that much harder for Ramada to withstand. Dealing with Ramada was hard enough for Milan all ready but the threat to her livelihood might be the straw that breaks the back of her and Lavender’s relationship.

Adding to Milan’s stress is the fact that her deceased father’s ex-wife Nancy is threatening to contest his will, which only divided his numerous assets between Milan and her sister Tamiko. Nancy went from being his father’s mistress to his wife when Milan and Tamiko’s mother finally tired of his philandering ways. The marriage was short lived but Nancy wants to be fully compensated for her time by his side. But both Milan and Tamiko are refusing to allow Nancy any more than the divorce decree allotted her.

Erotic City manages to deliver steamy scenes inside of the club while at the same time delivering interesting plot lines outside of the club. Resulting in an entertaining yet highly erotic read.

What did you like about the book?
The book delivered several good story lines to go with its erotic theme. Treating readers to way more than just a book of erotica.

What did you dislike about the book?
At times the book was a little preachy in its effort to justify the swinging lifestyle.

What could the author do to improve the book?
Nothing, author Pynk did an excellent job blending the erotica into a novel that fans of both erotica and contemporary literature will enjoy.

A Swinger's Paradise

Enter a world that is taboo in everyday society. Where people come to play, pleasure seekers of all kinds. Where couples or singles can go to play out some of their wildest fantasies. Enter at your own discretion because anything can go down here. Erotic City is the place to be - truly a swinger's paradise.

Milan Kennedy, owner of Erotic City, is beautiful, smart and very wealthy. She has her heavyweight champion boyfriend Lavender Lewis on her arm keeping everything in the club in control. The only person he doesn't seem to have control over is his baby mama, Ramada.

Tamiko Kennedy is Milan's younger sister, who is trying to launch her own clothing line. Feeling unsatisfied with her boyfriend sexually but always making sure he is satisfied is a full-time job within itself. But when he does the ultimate in betraying her, she will have to decide whether to stay or move on.

EROTIC CITY by Pynk was an enjoyable fast-paced read. Nothing but sex and drama! This novel would be an excellent book club read, because it has you asking a lot of questions about morals and values. Would you watch your man have sex with another woman or vice versa? Would you be okay with it? Do you think this would help or hinder your relationship? Just some of the questions you will be pondering while reading this.

I guess I really expected too much from this book. It had very steamy Zane-like scenes but the story line lagged a bit. I felt like I should have known more about the characters than I did. It was like Pynk wanted to just write an erotic fiction book without really taking the time to write the story first. I'm quite disappointed being that I bought this the first day it came out :(
