Tim Myers is the flamboyant and overly fastidious owner of the adult shop Little Earthquakes. In his spare time, he moonlights as a sub for his friend's BDSM classes, and while he'd love to find a Dom to cater to his domestic servitude kink, he's wary of exposing his body and his heart. When Jae Seong comes into Tim’s shop and asks him for help with a wax play demo, Tim is ...more

A nicely written story from a new-to-me author, even if it wasn't what I had been expecting.

From the blurb, you'd think this story was a domestic discipline one, at least in part. It really isn't, so much so that I didn't include it on my DD shelf.

The blurb does do a good job of describing the BDSM content. Though there is one flashback to a spanking scene, all of the BDSM action is wax play. That's basically it. Sure, there are some sub/dom dynamics but Jae isn't a dom-y dom. Also,

The blurb tells you pretty much everything about Shaken Up. There is nothing special in the plot but I liked it a lot and for being so short I loved that the MCs are well defined.

Jae wants Tim from the first time he saw him being spanked during a demo with another master. He wants this beautiful sub like nothing else he’s ever wanted. Tim is in domestic discipline, he just wants someone to care for, to help with clothes and things like that. He is intr

I surprisingly enjoyed this one. It’s a surprise only because the author is new to me and it’s from DSP, so I didn’t have a lot of faith or hope. I keep trying with DSP though and it’s books like this that keep me on that crack. This is a pleasant and well written little novella with some interesting characters. It kept my attention from the very beginning and my only compliant is that it ended too soon and felt too abrupt. I would have liked the couple to have more time together before

A sexy Korean-American Dom named Jae and a sweet little southern sub named Tim (with a past). Add hot wax and stir well. Besides, any adult store named after one of my favourite Tori Amos albums has got to be cool. Kind of reminds me of Good Vibrations in SF. The BDSM aspect was written well, focusing on not just the kink, but the negotiation of a scene (the sub actually has a contract listing his hard and soft limits), communication before, during and after the scene, and of course the all-impo ...more

Tim Myers owns an adult shop in San Francisco named Little Earthquakes. A sub at heart with a yearning for domestic discipline and a Dom to work with, the flamboyant shop owner moonlights as a sub for his friend’s BDSM demo classes but he never allows his identity to be revealed and never mingles with the patrons after the demos.

He and Gloria, his outrageous assistant, enjoy

I always feel lucky, and a little relieved, when I find a new author and I like what they have written!

This is a very gentle story. After reading the blurb I had expected a DD story but although this was hinted at it’s not what the story was about. It would be ideal for anyone wanting to dip their toes into the BDSM genre without experiencing anything too explicit.

Tim Myers is flamboyant, outwardly confident and owns his own sex shop where he thrives helping every

I am a new reader of Nicole's books but this one was a good start. It is a short story about a submissive Tim who was badly hurt by a prior Dom and almost gave up his submissive tendencies. He does demo's for his good friends and owns a sex shop named Little Earthquakes. I have to say that I love the name of his store. His friends set him up with Jae and the chemistry is instant. They agree to do a demo together and have to practice, this is where their relationship starts. The BDSM scenes are g ...more

In the past few months I’ve noticed that I’m really starting to enjoy BDSM books. There’s something so beautifully satisfying reading these extreme partnerships. The love and care combined with the trust involved to do these scenes is quite breathtaking. This story had all of those elements which made for an enjoyable read.

Tim Myers is an eccentric, out and proud sex shop owner. Even though he is on the mend/rebound from an abusive DOM, he’s very comfortable in his submissi

Tim is a fabulous POV character. He is spunky and witty, but at the same time, he has his demons to handle. There are issues both in his past and his present that are holding him back. He would love to really get back into the scene, but his trust issues, as well as some allergies and health problems, mean he isn’t so comfortable with new people, and often new Doms aren’t interested in him. Tim is such a great combination of strength and vulnerability, something

Reviewed for The Novel Approach.

Tim is quite the unique character, especially in terms of BDSM stories. He has serious anxiety, OCD, and a deadly latex allergy. Not what you’d expect to find in a story with strong BDSM themes. But all of that is bound up in the wonderfully snarky package that is Tim. I adored him. He runs an adult shop and assists both gay and straight clients on improving their sex life, which seems at odds considering his – aside from occasionally playing demonstration sub fo

***3.5 Stars for a Lovely Start to a Series!***

Overly cautious Tim has created a new life far from his Georgia home. Now the proud owner of Little Earthquakes, Tim spends his days teaching sex positivity to reticent clients and pointing the way for clients who know what they want with his employee and best friend, Gloria. He subs for demonstration purposes at his local club, but refuses to commit to anyone and never hangs around when the demo is over. When Jae walks into his shop, Tim’s world tu

- The setting is fun: a kink-friendly sex shop in a hippie neighborhood filled with supercool folks of every persuasion waltzing around, happy to live their lives and let everyone around them live theirs.
- I love hurt-comfort storylines. I like seeing someone who’s been used in the past having gobs of attention lavished on him.
- The BDSM element of the story is normal and realistic. The men pl

If possible, i'd go for 2.5 stars.

This is the romantic tale of boy meets boy, with a whole lot of wax play thrown in. It would be convenient to sum it up as gay male BDSM erotica, but if you're really into guy on guy smut, this might feel a bit lacking. If you're really into BDSM, it will also be lacking (though there were SO many irrelevant details about wax play that you might be able to teach the demo yourself by the end of the book).

For most of the book, I found myself wondering who exactl

I liked this book because it felt like the beginning of a long term romance with D/s service. Some BDSM books just head straight to the St Andrew s Cross and the games and this book was different. If you are looking for a high level of kink, you won’t get here and I think it was all the better for it. I like books that don’t go for the rituals, games and instead concentrate on submission / service and if you like this part of the BDSM spectrum then this book could be your cup of tea. Good story

I really enjoyed this story. Well thought out, researched and good characters. Jae and Tim are beginning what they hope to be a fulfilling D/s relationship. Both have to work through Tim's limitations, but this seems to be moving in the right direction. Hope there will be more from this author!

I loved this book! The two heroes are so good together. Watching Tim move on from past trauma was so satisfying. I also learned about domestic kink - and really get why it works for some. I only wish the book was longer. Such a good story.

Nicole Forcine was born a strange child and former Georgia peach. When she was younger, she was never far from a composition book, a pen in hand, and way too many people in her head (she’s even been known to talk back to them). When two or more of them talk loud enough to overshadow the rest, a story is born. After years of writing and storing her tales in those books, she had a revelation: man, t ...more
