ok, ok...this is a SURPRISE!!!!

let me was fast, it was action packed with action and just enough dosage of romance and scorching hot sex scenes and a bunch of G.I.Joes calling themselves a Bang shift crew, meaning the garage being the center of a huge top secret cover up FBI unit - and they are a groovey little bunch of hot, sweaty, ripped muscles badasses - that I can't even start to describe, one of them being Hunter (a badass of book 2, this book)

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

This is the second in the series, and although I think it could be read as a standalone, there would be more understanding of some of the group dynamics if you had read Brody first. It is quite a different story, which I liked, as I can be frustrated when a series seems to follow a formula.

The story has a good twist to it, and is not predictable at all - well except for the inevitable and rather hot, yet sweet romantic inter

This is a story of hunter and Maya - Hunter is the quintessential bad boy who would do anything for his sister Heather, that includes protecting her best friend from a crazy stalker ex- boyfriend. Maya is faced with a situation she has no clue how to get out of, but Heather believes her Big Brother has the answer!

Family is the only thing Hunter has left. After meeting Maya he wants nothing to do with her, but her story just starts to reel him in.

After trying to push her away, gravity p

I read Hunter right after I closed Brody I am wishing I didn't do that and had some filler books in between. I am in no way saying Hunter is a bad book I really did enjoy it, but coming off the super suspenseful, sexy, angsty Brody it just did produce the same way for me.

Hunter seemed more rushed, the relationship between Hunter and Maya didn't have time to grow. There really wasn't a whole lot with Hunter and Maya actu

I really liked The Darkest Sin, the first book in this series. This book I really didn't like at all. I didn't feel any connection between Hunter and Maya. There was hardly any dialogue between the main characters. This made it really hard for me to understand what they saw in each other. They each thought the other was hot, but this was based on looks, it didn't have anything to do with who the person was. Because we didn't get to see these two interacting we didn't get to see them fall in love ...more

I enjoyed reading this story, the female characters were witty and fun and I totally got Maya's desire to stay away from bad boys. Hunter was a pretty cool character to read and I enjoyed his interaction with Maya and the way they thought about each other. I read this in about two days and I couldn't wait until I could get back into it, because the characters were so funny.

I will say that this is a second book in the series and you can tell because

Hunter. Hmm…. Where do I start? I’m in a bit of a quandary on how to rate this book. While I did enjoy reading Hunter, it just didn’t pack the same punch as Brody did. I appreciated that Ms. Harbin gets straight to the action in the first chapter because it helped set the stage for the romantic suspense elements. I also liked the use of Hunter’s dream flashbacks and memories as an appropriate vehicle for providing background on his past and explaining his protective attitude over his sister Heat ...more

The Bang Shift Series by Mandy Harbin is quickly becoming one of those go-to series for me to read when I want an equal dose of good boy/bad boy personas. The first two books can be read as a standalone as they each deal with a specific character, however, I am glad I am reading them in order. By reading "Brody" first, I know a little big more background about all the other characters.

My major plus of "Brody" was that while each of these guys are good guys, protecting their loved ones, that wasn

Maya Carmichael is a twenty-one year old college student. She came from an over-protective family and didn’t get out much so her dating experience is limited. When Jake Oberman starts to pay attention and is persistent with his interest, Maya relents and decides to give this bad boy a chance. It didn’t take her long to see the error of her decision. Jake is controlling, demanding and, well, there’s just something not right about him so she ends it. Jake doesn’t take rejection well. After her car ...more

This was another great installment in this series by this amazing author who is quickly becoming a go to author for me. This book was sexy, sweet, suspenseful, dangerous, naughty, and has one bad ass alpha male who will do anything to protect the people he loves. This is the second installment in this series and while it can be read as a standalone, I would read book one, Brody, to get the full impact of this series. With that, I love these group of sexy men who works as agents for the F

Not surprised that Hunters story was nothing more then fantastic, specially after reading the 1st book in the series which was Brody's story and seeing how his story was awesome, It's no surprise that Hunters story is just as awesome if not better, the duel pov's makes it easier and more realistic to connect to on an emotional level with the characters making the story much more appealing and meaningful, having that emotional connection makes the story line more intense specially when it comes f ...more

Hunter lives up to the first book in the Bang Shift Series. It involved action, but it wasn't constantly going on and sometimes it didn't even have to do with the bad guys. There's also the fact that there were some interesting connections that I didn't understand until they were explained and there were numerous connections made during the book that will be interesting to see play out in further books. I truly enjoyed this story. This is the story of Hunter who is known as the comedian of the group of mechanics known as the BANG SHIFT. The fact that the small Arkansas town mechanics are also the government’s secret mercenaries doesn't hurt to an exciting, sexy, romantic suspense story that had me on the edge of my seat. Hunter has a deadly past that he know will one day catch up with him he just never knew that it would be in the form of his s

“’I feel you everywhere,’ he whispered, and she knew he didn’t mean physically.”

My Review:

Hunter is the second offering of the Bang Shift series – which involves a tough group of mercenaries that work as mechanics by day but are often hired by the government as a different type of “mechanic.” They are a gruff pack of good-looking, dick-swinging, arrogant a-holes, that don’t even like each other. I am thrilled that this series is set in Arkansas which is a bonus for me. There aren't many romantic suspense books set in my home state and Harbin portrays the state in a way that made it feel like the perfect place for a section of a secret government agency to hide in plain site.

HUNTER is a well paced read with a nice plot twist. Harbin has created a world of suspense and danger populated with sexily rough, controlling, and sometimes aggressive men with a strong drive to protect. Hunter is

Brody: The Bang Shift

This is Hunter and Maya’s story. When a stalker threatens Maya she and her roommate flee to Arkansas to her roommate’s brother. Hunter does not want Maya anywhere near him but when he is told to protect her he knows he has to. But what is he protecting her from him or

A great quick read if you like dirty talking, alpha men and a plot with surprise twists. The author really knows how to write suspense and the unexpected twists is a big + for me while reading Hunter’s story. I really enjoy the romance in a book and find some suspense plots predicable. Not the case in the Bang Shift series and I like that almost as much as the dirty talking sexy romps Hunter and Maya have. With the book such a quick read for myself I felt the beginning w

Slightly disappointed

I was slightly disappointed with this boo. I loved the first in the series so much, I had really high expectations for this one. It unfortunately fell a little short of those expectations... I just didn't enjoy this as much as the first, but that's not to say I didn't enjoy it at all. It had all the same elements I was looking for (suspense, drama, love, etc.) but I think it was that the bad guy wasn't as bad as I was hoping for? Or maybe it's because the female lead was onl

While I didn't enjoy Hunter quite as much as I enjoyed Brody... it was still a really good read. I love how the author slowly lets us in on Hunter's past in the same way she did with Brody. Small pieces slowly come together, making him all that much more interesting. There's just something really intriguing in the way we learn about him.

The story of Maya and her ex-boyfriend turned out to be quite the twisted story. It was fun to follow Maya's story from beginning to end just to see where that m

I loved this book more than the first one! With each guy we see pairing off, I fall harder and harder for these men! I can't wait to see Gage and everyone else.

Hunter is loyal to a T. He's big, powerful and made to soak your panties. I loved his gruff exterior and soft inside.

This is book 2 in the Bang Shift series but it stands alone fine. I do recommend book 1 just because it was a great read and I loved Brody!

I zoomed through this one really fast. Its very character driven but still a great story with some twists and really hot action!

Hunter is a very alpha, possessive, and dominating male. But I completely loved him! He's over protective but still sweet and funny.

Maya is very sweet and innocent but has a feisty streak to her that I enjoyed.

I liked this book but I felt like it rushed through a lot of things, Hunter and Maya's relationship being one of them. It went from avoiding with insta-lust to insta-hot sex turned love.

Also I had sort of a love-hate feel for Hunter. Especially when he lashed out at Maya at the end without question. Major jerk move.

After reading Danielle Steel’s Summer’s End, Mandy became hooked on reading romance. Of course she was probably too young to be reading books like that at the time, which made it even that much better! She dabbled in writing throughout adolescence and justified studying it in college under that wonderful umbrella of liberal arts. Living in Arkansas, she figured writing was a dream and not a career ...more
