The more I learn about the body and food, the more I believe that FOOD is HEALTH care and pharm is SICK care. This book is packed with information on how you can use food to help with all sorts of ailments. It is divided into sections (eat to beat disease, foods that fight back, what ails you, and recipe rx) so you can search by food or ailment. It is easy to use and a wonderful resource.
A very good book of high qualirty, with amazing pictures and very well structured. It contains, in a very simple and clear way, the main benefits of each food, how to cook it to obtain better results, and has suggestions how to eat it. It also lists several common illnesses and how to fight it with food. At the end it has offers good recipes, which ones I am planning to try it. This is a great reference book, too.
There has been a huge movement lately with using foods and other natural sources to help with health issues and conditions. This book not only goes through detailed descriptions of specific foods with health benefits (and why they are so beneficial), it also provides information about a couple dozen health conditions that can be impacted by food. Each condition includes information about the vitamins and minerals, and which foods they are found in, that help with the condition, and a list of recipes. And the best part - the whole reason I bought the book - is the collection of recipes in the back of the book. They look so yummy!
This is a great book. It has information on the vitamins and other benefits that foods give us. It also gives information on different illnesses and what foods are beneficial in helping fight the illness or foods that might help prevent the illness. It also has some great recipes. I learned a lot from reading this book.
This book is packed with information to start anyone on their journey to better health. Easily used as a reference guide, this book is organized into foods, ailments, and lastly recipes. I will be using this book as a nutrition guide until the binding wears out!
I love this book. The pictures are great and I learn so much everytime I pick it up! I learned recently that I crave mushrooms because they help with migraines.
This is a great resource to look up all sorts of different foods and their nutrients. It's divided into a few sections...nutrients/vitamins, foods, ailments/conditions, adn recipes.
