Comanche Sniper: Book I In The Comanche Sniper Series

War made him a sniper. Heritage made him a hunter.

Cade Parker is the grandson of the last Comanche war chief. Raised on hard land and harder lessons, he’s spent his life protecting what’s his until one brutal night at home forces him into the U.S. Army and into a war he never asked for.

In Operation Torch, Cade lands on hostile shores and learns that WWII isn’t heroic, it’s mechanical, filthy, and hungry. With his spotter Ortega at his side, Cade becomes the weapon commanders rely on when an advance stalls and men start dying for inches of rock.

Then Tunisia delivers something worse than artillery an barrage.

A German sniper who kills with intention. He focuses on targets that matter, shots that break units, and a calling card left behind as proof he was there and that he’ll return.

Each encounter tightens the circle, and every shot costs more. When the final duel comes, Cade must fire the one bullet that ends the conversation or become the next mark in someone else’s ledger.

Comanche Sniper is the opening salvo in a new WWII series of sniper warfare, brotherhood, and the price of becoming what the world fears you already are.

The synopsis is brilliant. A Comanche rancher from Oklahoma forced into the war. Kicking ass in training despite getting ridiculed and ostracized for his indigenousness. Teaming up with a Mexican-American observer. Off to Africa to take on Rommel. Historically accurate. Well written settings. Pretty damn good action too. An absolutely awesome beginning. Good beginnings are hard to write.
Three stars???? Yeah, me, myself, and I don't like perfect main characters. Courageous, chiseled, stoic, fearless, and flawless; not my thing. Every hero needs a weakness. This guy was too perfect.
I'm a big fan of Stephen Hunter. He gives his heroes more weaknesses than strengths and they barely survive.

Fantastic first book in yet another dynamite series my James Mullins

I literally couldn't stop reading the book.... I read the. Oom in one sitting and I can't wait for the next installment. If you like the winter sniper series by Mullins and you like the Caje Cole series by David Healy you are going to love this book! Only criticism, without spoiling anything for people who haven't read the book yet is that some of the symbolism was a little repititious... A little more subtle and less frequent would be more powerful. This is a very very minor criticism... I truly can't wait for the next installment. Great job James!

Great story about Native American sniper forced into military

Story begins with the tales of an Comanche sheepherder protecting his herd from coyotes using hunter skills taught by his grandfather who was a warrior in the early Indian wars. He is then involved in protecting his sister from criminals and is arrested. Judge finds him guilty of a crime and offers him a prison term or go into the army during WW2 where his hunting skills gets him a job as a sniper. Lots of good adventures in putting up with harassment in military training and as a sniper on No. African campaign. Good reading and hard to put down until finished.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book, which was my first by this author. A very well written and believable tale about a Comanche who got a raw deal, and ended up in the army. What made the story likeable for me was the author's talent for describing the Comanche code, and how it related to Cade's mindset and tracking abilities. That he is an expert marksman is another bonus. The book combines a lot of military tactics and history, and puts Cade right in the middle, with a lot of suspenseful moments around every corner. I will be reading the next book for sure!

Entertaining , what I liked the fact there was not a soap opera tied into the book! Usually you find an ok book and they always have a love story with the most desired specimens in the world! “Days of our lives” don’t need to hear the b.s. when i’m reading war books! There were no pretty woman in 1945!

Great story…weak editing

Well written, hard to put down, but the editing was sloppy. If it was done by AI, someone needs to figure out how to review the work.

Good story, needs editing

It’s a good storyline, but it really needs an editor and multiple reviewers. Consistency is lacking. Hoping next books are edited better.

He put faces on the characters

The story over from the story of fictional characters to that of people (Soldiers) you can relate to. I'm hooked for book 2.

Outstanding book

This is undoubtedly the best WW2 book I have ever read and I’ve read lots. In the midst of nonstop danger Mullins’ characters retain their humanity yet become highly polished sharp points in the war against Nazi Germany. Highly insightful of the American Indian people and belief systems. Also writes with complete respect for their tragedies and heart-felt need to matter in the rapidly changing world.
