In a world built on lies, can a fake relationship survive a very real love?

“You can see how much he grounds himself in you. You bring a light in him that wasn’t before.” She was wrong. He doesn't ground himself in me. This is just a lie we built so he could get what he want. And I, God help me, am starting to wish I was the anchor he actually wanted to keep.
Nothing short of an emotional rollercoaster ride.
I repeat, NOTHING short of an emotional rollercoaster ride.
I dove into the story expecting a short, cutesy love story that would have me going "awww" and "omg" the whole time.
I wasn't wrong, of course, and I'm so very fond of all those soft little moments in the book.
But ma'am, did you really have to test my heart's strength in those last parts? 🥺 The moment I go "...and they lived happily ever after!" the story goes "not so fast." LIKE WHYY 😭😭
well, at least evan and anna have their happily-ever-after now, and I'm so very happy for them 🥹 you've really managed to incorporate the title in the story, and I love it. Hoping to able to get into the rest of your works soon <3

For the ones who feel tired of putting performances for the world and still never feel seen, I hope you find a prince charming who can see nothing but you.

A short, sweet novella with a pulse of suspense.
Anna makes a living pretending—her job as a girlfriend-for-rent comes with expiration dates and no emotional strings. When Evan steps in to rescue her from a public bullying incident by posing as her husband, a favor-for-a-favor deal is struck. Anna will play his girlfriend so he can secure a long-overdue promotion.
Cold, intimidating, and painfully antisocial at work, Evan needs Anna to soften his image. Soon they’re branded the office’s Golden Couple, expected at every team event, including a camping weekend. Lines blur and danger begins when someone is watching far too closely.
I enjoyed the relationship evolvement from guarded
and transactional to hopeful and longing.

A heart warming romance
Not my usual fare. Stumbled across this book due to scanning a book with the same title on a bogus book app ad on a game I was playing. I read hundreds of books each year from Kindle Unlimited, the library, and where ever, so I am well qualified to review a book. While this book could have benefited from a proof reader for some typos and continuity problems, I found the story quite enjoyable. Think Hallmark movie with the touch of danger and will they or won't they end up together.

Soulmate connections are one of my favorites to read about; how they get from strangers to perfect for each other never ceases to make me smile.
This story was exactly what I needed. Anna Choi is charismatic and easy to connect with. Her plight of feeling worn out after socializing is felt by so many of us. Evan comes out right off the bat as someone we can like, even with his icy personality.
If you want to believe in HEA without too much pulling your hair out at how ridiculous the characters are being, this is the book to read.

Evan Park is called “Icebox” in his firm. He only focused on getting his promotion and unprepared until he met Ana.
