Staying For Ever

Rate this book
Home was never a place—it was always her.

Julian has spent years running from his past—until it finally catches up to him and costs him Everly.

When old truths surface, Everly does what she’s always done best: she leaves. Determined to build a life that doesn’t depend on anyone else, she starts over, convinced that love shouldn’t hurt this much.

But losing Everly forces Julian to face what he’s been avoiding all along.

To earn the future they’ve been fighting for since the beginning, he’ll have to confront his past, cross every distance between them, and prove—to both of them—that he deserves her love.

Staying For Ever is the final book in the For Ever series, a story about second chances, hard truths, and choosing the love that finally feels like home.

Staying for Ever Review🏋🏻☀️

I received an ARC for this book, so I would like to thank C. M. Wyllie and Happily Booked for sending me this.

In this third and final book that follows Ever and Julian story, after their talk in the end of the previous book, things are going well again. They are dating, they are having fun.

Until Julian’s dad makes a reaperance and messes everything up. And our characters do what they know best, Julian close off again, and Ever runs.

I do blame their immaturity for the miscommunication bit, they don’t know how to sit and talk when they are not in the bedroom.

And it takes some time until they find themselves in a better place so they could be together again. But even this talk, when they said they wanna be together again, is quick, and in some ways superficial. But hey, it worked for them.

The last 30% of the book were a big epilogue, which I loved, I loved catching a glimpse of their futures with a lot of surprises in the way. And that’s why, I will give this boom a 4,5⭐️, because of the ending, that was beautiful. 🏋🏻☀️

Staying for Ever by C. M. Wyllie completely stole my heart. This story is full of raw emotion, healing, and the kind of love that refuses to give up even after everything. Everly and Julian’s journey felt so real—the pain, the hope, and the way they slowly find their way back to each other had me completely invested. I found myself smiling, tearing up, and rooting for them the entire time.

C. M. Wyllie has such a beautiful way of writing characters who feel authentic and deeply human. Their struggles, growth, and unwavering connection made this story unforgettable. The ending was incredibly satisfying and left me with that warm, emotional feeling you get when a story truly stays with you.

If you love an emotional, heartfelt romance with depth and powerful character development, this series is an absolute must-read.

The end of a series is always rough - especially one as wonderful as this one. I have had the honour of being an ARC reader for all three of Carol’s books and you can see the growth and development as they continued. The final instalment, Staying With Ever, is a warm, heartfelt HEA. I was not disappointed when there was such a strong element of resilience and there was that little surprise at the end that made my day! Thank you for trusting me to pre read and review your babies. I loved them all but I think this one is my favourite.

I lovedddddd this book. This may have even been my favorite of the 3 part series🤭. This addition to the story kept me on my toes and tied up every loose happy ending better than I could’ve imagined!! Sweet, wholesome, tender, spicy, and riveting are a few words I would use to describe the end of this series. It was challenging to find a place to stop each time I was reading! Leaving this series happy with the characters (and author 😉) for making the choices they did!!

After reading the entire series, I think Staying for Ever might actually be my favorite of the three.

From the prologue, I was completely hooked. It immediately created this sense of worry and suspense that made me feel like I had to keep reading to get answers. And every time I got one, the story added another hook that pulled me deeper into the book.

This installment feels less like a traditional romance and more like a story about growth and healing. Ever’s character arc was one of my favorite parts. For so long she lived for everyone else, and in this book we finally see her start choosing herself. Watching her step into her independence and confidence was incredibly satisfying.

Julian’s journey also felt very real. His struggles, his past, and the work he has to do to move forward added emotional depth to the story. The combination of fear, suspense, drama, romance, and a few unexpected moments made this book feel layered and meaningful.

By the end, it felt like everything came full circle. It’s the kind of ending that makes you reflect on the entire journey these characters took to get there.

For readers who have followed Ever and Julian from the start, this is a heartfelt and fitting conclusion.

It pains me to write this, but I struggled with Julian and Ever’s final story…
Don’t get me wrong. The writing is good, and it was nice to see them finally get their HEA.
But…
The first two were angsty, and I was hoping for more of a lighthearted story. I didn’t truly expect it, but… I hoped.

Now… that opening chapter had me in a high state of stress, and I was waiting… the anticipation to get to that point was high, and once it got there, it felt a little glossed over.
I don’t want to spoil, but let’s just say that this book is the equivalent of a third act break up… right down to the make-up smex without communicating.

It ended up with a bit of a heartwarming ending. It was nice to see Ever find herself, and Julian finally get some closure, but it felt like the flow of this was completely different to their earlier stories.
Was it intentional? I’m not sure… but, it felt a little out of whack.
I think this is the problem with trilogies following the same characters - when you get to the final story, you want the drama to be over. I don’t expect it to be an angst ridden story with a happy ending that felt like it glossed many of their problems.

Omg this book! This book, and this series, has had everything - drama, twists, turns, romance, sadness. Like all of the feels have come out. And this book was the perfect ending to Ever and Julie’s story. From the first line I was in it deep. This author knows how to hook you from the start! I couldn’t put this book down. Read it in one sitting. The story in this installment of the series is so raw and deep. The emotional depth and the growth to the characters is insane. I connected with them even more than in the previous books. The relationships and connections made in this story were so genuine and multifaceted. Nothing felt forced or orchestrated. The growth that Everly and Julian go through together and individually, especially him honestly, was so necessary but it also felt so raw and real. I was so happy he got the help that he needed, and what they needed as a couple. And the ending…oh man that got me right in the heart. It was so satisfying and left me feeling like it all had purpose. It was so heartfelt and was honestly the perfect way to wrap up their story. They worked for that ending and they deserved it.

As an obsessed reader of this series, book 3 was perfect! I loved everything about it; the dialogue, character development, everything. I think the character development in this book is my favorite part. We get to see Ever finally live life for HERSELF. As a woman who often puts others before myself or lives life on the back burner, this was really pleasing to read. I loved getting to see her confidence grow. Julian's character growth is also remarkable. Him choosing to go to therapy and give it an honest try was a huge improvement in his character. He had so much recent AND childhood trauma that needed to be unearthed before he could be everything for Ever. Another thing I really loved in this book was the friendship between Taya and them. I love the part where both Julian and Taya say it's like a familial love now. It gives me the warm & fuzzies lol! All in all, this was a very well written, all around great book. I highly recommend this series to my girlies who love romance & a little trauma mixed in!

I’ve read all three books in this series and I need everyone to understand something… each one was better than the last. And this one? This one wrecked me in the quietest, most beautiful way.

Staying for Ever isn’t just a romance. It’s growth. It’s choosing someone even when it’s hard. It’s loving through fear. It’s realizing that forever isn’t a grand gesture, it’s a thousand small decisions to stay.

I cried. Not dramatic, throwing-the-book cried. The soft kind. The kind where your chest feels too tight because you care so much about these characters that their happiness feels personal.

Watching everything come full circle after following this series from the beginning felt like saying goodbye to friends who changed you. The emotional payoff? Gentle. Earned. Deep. The kind that lingers long after you close the last page.

This series has been such a privilege to read early, and seeing the evolution from book one to now is unreal. If you haven’t started it yet, just know it only gets stronger, more layered, more unforgettable.

Forever never felt so deserved.

ARC REVIEW
This is my honest review. Please check the trigger warnings before going in. Your mental health matters and this story does not shy away from heavy emotions.

Staying For Ever by C.M. Wyllie completely stole my heart and gently put it back together again.

This story is raw, emotional, and so beautifully written that I felt every single moment right alongside Julian and Everly. From the very first page, you can feel the weight of their history. The love between them has always been there, but so have the wounds, the silence, and the things left unsaid. Watching it all unravel was both heartbreaking and healing.

C.M. Wyllie writes second chance romance with so much heart. This is not just about getting back together. It is about accountability, forgiveness, and learning that love is not meant to feel like survival. It is meant to feel like home.

The emotion, the tension, the undeniable chemistry, and the quiet tender moments all come together in a way that feels authentic and unforgettable. This finale was everything I hoped for and more.

If you love second chance romance filled with depth, healing, and a love that refuses to fade, Staying For Ever needs to be on your list. It is a beautiful reminder that sometimes the hardest battles are the ones that lead you back to where you were always meant to be.

A huge thanks to C.M. Willey and Happily Booked PR for my copy of Staying for Ever to read and review!

Out of the three books in this series, this is the one that I felt most closely matched reality. I think this journey is something that most, if not all, people experience when it comes to love. This book was a reminder that there’s no instruction manual to friends, love, and heartbreak.

This was definitely my favorite out of the bunch. I loved reading about Ever being able to find herself as an individual. I loved learning about her life in Malibu, between school, friendships, and new hobbies. This really resonated with me as someone who had to endure that same journey in my early 20s.

I think my favorite part of the entire series was Ever becoming a psych major and admitting the things I’d been screaming over the past two books.

I cannot believe this series is over, but am so grateful that I was invited to read it to experience it.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest and willing review, and C.M. Wyllie’s end to the For Ever series trilogy DID NOT DISAPPOINT!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Prior to reading book 3, Staying for Ever, I read books 1 and 2 this week, Waiting for Ever, and Falling for Ever, respectively. I so enjoyed these novels, and I loved being transported to Blue Lake. As a local Californian, I felt transported to places I know well, and loved being on the lake book after book.

Julian and Ever saw incredible healing and recovery within each other which made them perfect together. You could feel the passion and chemistry coming through the pages.

I am going to recommend this series to everyone I know 💜

This finale was such an emotional ride, and honestly, the perfect way to close the series. Having followed through all the ups and downs in the earlier books, I felt deeply invested in how things would finally play out.

Their love has always been intense, but so have the mistakes, the silences, and the moments of running away instead of facing each other. In this book, those patterns resurface but the difference is in how they finally begin to grow past them. Watching Julian open up and seek help, and seeing Ever find her own strength, made their reconciliation feel earned.

The pacing was steady, with plenty of drama and heartbreak, but the last part of the book felt like a gift. The extended epilogue gave us a glimpse into their future, and it was both surprising and satisfying.

The ending left me with a sense of peace.

After reading the first two books of the series- I was super eager to read the finale!! It had me hooked- especially after the encounter with Julie’s family. Overall, the book was filled with so much feeling and I absolutely loved. I will say, I’ve never read a book that had that much of a timeline packed in so little time, so that was a little different-felt almost too good to be true. Buttttt.. at the same time I’m a sucker for wanting to know ALL the details regarding the happily ‘ever’ after 😋 so it was like also so awesome that I got to know every bit and piece to Julie and Ever’s happy ending.

Hello, people!
First of all, let me mention that this book is the third book in the For Ever series.
Closing with the third book in the series, Staying For Ever, there is a surprise at the end that is worth every wait. We also see the evolution of the author's writing, which becomes warm, tender, captivating, enjoyable and deeply emotional.
Overall, the entire series is excellent with important messages, such as forgiveness, with fantastic flow and development of the story, character development and chemistry between the main characters.

Many thanks to the author and Happily Booked PR for the eARC!

Everly + Julian.

The gripping end to this trilogy didn't disappoint. I was happy that Julian got help. He really needed it and Everly leaving in the moment (last book) was best for her and her mental health. You cannot help someone who doesn't see they need help. Julian did get help before he spiraled anymore. & yes, these two did jump back into 'something' but Everly realized that maybe they should take their time learning about each other.

Julian evolved but so did Everly. I loved the ending and the extra years we got with them to see the full picture of how they ended up.

Thank you to the author and Happily Booked PR for an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

✨eARC Review✨

Staying for Ever by C. M. Wyllie
4.5⭐'s

This was the third and final installment for this series, and I think it was my favorite one of them all. You can really see the growth in the writing, and as much as the first two got me, this one was wonderful.

Ever and Julian are two perfectly flawed individuals who love each other and are putting in the work, no matter their past trauma, and I love getting to see that. It's a great example of the fact that finding someone doesn't magically heal you and that sometimes you get a do-over.

I can't wait to see what she comes out with next because I thoroughly enjoyed this whole series.

The final book in this series and another great read, when the blurb says undeniable chemistry I can confirm this is 100% true, I’ve enjoyed this series so much, great characters and the writing is wonderful. It was quite a bittersweet moment when I finished, but it certainly finished on a high I think this one has been my favourite.

"I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.” Staying for Ever. A beautiful ending to a series that has consistently delivered on every front. This book offers a raw and multifaceted look at Everly and Julian’s relationship, emphasising a realistic growth that never feels forced. Seeing Julian receive the help and support he needed was a highlight, adding a layer of depth that made their journey as a couple feel truly earned. The ending is both satisfying and emotionally resonant, the perfect way to honour these characters and their long awaited happily ever after. 💛

It’s time to say goodbye to Ever and Julian. But their finale was well worth getting here. It was awesome and gave me warm fuzzies that they finally got their hard earned HEA. This was so sweet, and a touch of spice. But well with the journey that we all got to go on with them. This was a story that you sit with and enjoy. Take your time reading, and fall into their world for awhile. I really enjoyed reading this.

This series has been a really good and well written story. Ever and Julian are such a amazing couple in this third part to their story shows that they have to face so many things to be able to deal with this thing we called life and everyone has a past. Julian has so much that he has to do to be able to get to her after she leaves when things get bad. I really have enjoyed reading this series and I look forward to reading more by the offer.

This third and final installment in Wyllie's debut series far exceeded my expectations! I loved the series so far, but thought I knew where the story was headed when I finished book two. I did not! This was the most page turning of the series for me, not knowing what to expect after a while and not being able to put it down until I found out what happened. And what happened was so good, in so many different ways and levels (no spoilers here!).

Two tortured souls, come together to begin healing. In the 3rd and final instalment of the for ever series, this one was my favourite. C.M. Wyllie has a way of writing characters that feel so incredibly real, flaws, scars, and all. Stay Forever isn't just a romance; it’s a beautiful, painful exploration of healing and what it means to truly let someone in.

This was the best ending for Julie and Ever. This is the kind of series that makes you realize sometimes all you need is that one person who loves unconditionally. Yes there were some teary eyed moments but to move forward everything needs resolved. This is the perfect series for anyone who likes the slow drama and sweet love.... It's perfect.

What a fantastic end to a trilogy series. I’ve really enjoyed reading Julian and Everly’s story and I feel like their story being a trilogy really made me feel connected to them in a way you don’t get from a standalone. It’s not a full 5 star for me because I’m not a huge fan of the miscommunication trope but the ending makes the whole thing worth it!
