Get ready for one wild ride! The year is 3698 and the threat of civil war is not only brewing, but near boiling. Kwaku Awahnee, Time Master of Muirara, must pass on his Time Mastership to his pre-chosen successor, Dallan MacDonald, to prevent the inevitable. Councilor John Eaton must tell the unsuspecting Scot of his new office and all it entails. There are, however, a few slight problems. To become a Time Master, the Highlander has to willingly join with a Muiraran Maiden, who, stolen as an infant, hidden in another time, and now grown, must mate or die. Dallan's job of convincing her that she is Muiraran, not human, and persuading her to fall in love with him is a small task compared to their impossible race against time. John's job is to make sure the Scot is ready to listen. And then, of course, talk him into it along the way.

Geralyn Beauchamp is a fantasy/romance/action-adventure/fractured fairy tale author who likes to spin whimsical yet epic tales! A book reviewer for five years, she read voraciously (why do you think she wanted to become a book reviewer? It was the perfect excuse to HAVE to read!) and, well, one thing led to another and now she's a best selling author on amazon's kindle. Her first book, Time Masters Book One; The Call, was actually written at the urging of author friends, most of whose books she reviewed. So, on a dare from Julia Quinn that went something like, "Oh c'mon, I know you can do this, I DARE YOU!" (It was a simple yet effective dare) Geralyn went on to write her first book. That was in 1995. After which she simply proclaimed, "I did it!" Just to prove she could, and then stuck said book in a trunk where it sat... and sat .... and SAT... until Christmas eve of 2007, when it finally hit the book store shelves. Better late than never.

When someone suggested she turn it into an e-book she did. But the original Time Masters she wrote back in 1995 was quite long, (so say reader reviews proving it) and she always wanted to give the story a little face lift. So into revision it went and the 2nd edition of Time Masters is what is available as an e-book as of 9/16/2012 on amazon.

Be watching for Time Masters Book Two; The Prophecy, coming this Holiday Season!

Geralyn divides her time between the Pacific Northwest and Northern California. Other than being a bibliophile, she's a yarn dabbler, of the string variety, coffee lover and chocolate snob.

I liked this book. Very, very little language, no sex (totally skipped over the wedding night, hurray), and I liked that Dallan was a totaly gentleman. Will definitely read the sequel.

This book is over 500 pages. I found it fast reading and wasn't intimidated by length. Yet, for its length, I wasn't quite prepared for it to be so predominantly romance. I have nothing against romance and as romances go, this is one of the better I've come across. However, I really wanted to have more information about some of the subplots Beauchamp only hints at and skims over. I understand Time Masters is slated to be a 12-volume series and one would assume the next volume is going to touch on these things in greater detail, but if one is not particularly fond of romance, one might wish to skip book one and wait for the next one.

Kwaku Awahnee yanks Dallan MacDonald out of 1692 Scotland (in the middle of the Glencoe massacre, no less), takes him ahead in time to 3688, and holds him captive in a remote village to train him as a Weapons Master. After enduring ten years of physical and verbal abuse at the hands of Kwaku (whom Dallan calls "the bloody heathen"), Dallan is taken back in time to the 1990s to find his destined mate, Shona, a Muiraran living among humans, and not even aware she is different. I never did quite understand who the Muirarans are. One of the characters says they have always been around, and Beauchamp skillfully taps into legends from throughout history to support this, but I also got the feeling these Muirarans are aliens who are only part of our past because of the ability of some of them to open time portals. The Muiraran mystery is one of the things I wanted to know more about. Who are these special beings and where did they come from? Why are they here and what are their plans for Earth?

Shona has the ability to open time doors. She was kidnapped as a baby and taken back in time, where her kidnapper, Phillip Brennan, leaves her with a childless couple who has no idea where she came from and evidently never catch on how different she is, even though she often goes into "flux" while dreaming, losing her human camouflage to expose her Muiraran appearance. When Shona comes of age, she must be joined with a mate or die. While it sounds corny when I say it, Beauchamp makes it all very believable. Shona somehow made contact with Dallan across time when he was a small boy back in ancient Scotland, and at that time, he gave her his heart. So Dallan will make Shona complete and therefore the best Time Master possible.

Of course, Phillip intends to take Shona for himself, so he can wield her time powers. He hires a tutor to watch Shona and keep her drugged, to inhibit her bonding with Dallan. He also hires some thugs to dispose of Dallan and he even kidnaps Shona AGAIN, as an adult, all in his quest for power. Phillip eventually fails and Dallan and Shona are successfully joined. Since this book is well over 500 pages, it's not really revealing much at all to admit there is a happy ending. The meat of the story is HOW the characters accomplish their goals. At the very end, Beauchamp gives us a glimpse of a frustrated "wraith" who apparently ordered Philip to capture Shona for him, and is completely unforgiving of Phillip's failure. We don't really learn much about this mysterious antagonist. The reader is left to speculate who he is and what evil plans he might have. Surely, we've not seen the end of him.

Another point I wondered about: Dallan and Shona's coupling is believed to be utterly CRUCIAL to the fate of the entire world. However, we never get any more information concerning WHY this particular couple is so indispensable or what dire consequences the 37th century characters fear might take place if Dallan fails to woo Shona. Yet another question we will have to wait for the sequel for.

Well-written. Engaging. Unique and interesting plot, but a bit one-sided towards the romance, leaving some of the subplots under-developed.

I have only given "Time Masters, Book One: The Call" the barest coverage here. I recommend reading the entire book to appreciate it in full.

WOW - I just finished this book and I was amazed. The depth of content, the storytelling, I loved it all!

(I know my rating system [see profile page] says 5 stars are only for books I have read multiple times but I am pushing this one into that category anyway. I'm looking forward to reading it again)

From the moment I first read the synopsis I was intrigued. Time travel, a Scotsman, fantasy and true love are all wrapped into one novel.

Time Masters: The Call is a fast paced and interesting story centered around two individuals, one human and one Muiraran, who are destined to change the world. Only together can they stop a great evil.

While being drawn up into a fascinating story, I also found myself captivated with the spiritual concepts in Time Masters. The spiritual concepts were told in a subtle way and beautifully woven into the fabric of the story.

Another thing that I loved about Time Masters was the depth of the characters. My favorite character was Shona, the Muiraran maiden. Everything about Shona's character makes you desire to see her protected and cherished. This adds to the suspense of the story as forces conspire to capture, control and even experiment on her. This also draws the reader into the conflict and heightens the intensity of the struggle. Dallan becomes a larger than life hero, as despite his struggles and bitterness over his situation, he begins to uncover his desire to protect and cherish Shona.

Time Masters captivated me and I highly recommend it. I found the premise creative, the theme of virtue uplifting, the writing descriptive and the story highly engaging.

It took over 500 pages to tell quite a simple story and it was very repetitive.

This is one long epic novel and the first one I have read in this series, the first book this author has written.
This is an amazing story that tell us about the new Weapons Master and his bride and so much more.
I wasn’t used to reading much in time travel accept in one other authors stories.
I loved how this author made awesome characters and one has become her other author name. How fun is that and I have to tell you if she is anything like the character she wrote and choose to use for another pen name then we are in for a treat. I think she is too. She also created so much in different eras. Great scenes too. Just an all-around great book.
I highly recommend trying this story. Know that it is a long novel not one you can sit down and read in one sitting. So be prepared for that.

I loved this book. I like to read time travel books because I like to see how people (characters) react when they are out of their normal environment. This is just a little different from the "ordinary" time travel stories, though. This book kept me interested through all 475 pages. It's free to download on Amazon and Barnes & Noble websites. would rate it as PG13. There's no bad language, violence, or sex but there are slight hints at sex. I would allow my preteen to read it. And, of course, this is only Book 1. I'm looking forward to reading Book 2, Book 3, etc!!!

Quite a read!

The cover caught my attention so I decided to read the book. The story was complex and a long adventure. I enjoyed getting to know the Scot and his lady, Shona. This series seems very interesting and complex
Yet, I found myself ready for it to end so I could enjoy another story. This story is clean but more PG13. There is talk of killing for pleasure. The villan speaks of making a woman scream after her husband shared her with him. Not a story I would recomend for teens.

WOW ! What a great book!!

Dallen and Shona
I enjoyed reading this captivating unique time travel with romance undertones that is fantastically written with unforgettable and enjoyable characters. I loved the depth of content and the story telling with a great story line/plot with multiple threads . I was on pins and needles many times and wanted to slap either Kwaku or Dallen, mainly Kwaku. The story had a good ending and a hea. I'm ready for the next book in this series.

I really enjoyed this book though different than what I normally like to read. I have met some of the characters from Kit Morgan's Western and historical romance books. (That's what made me interested to read this book now series).

Quite an enjoyable read. I had to change courses and dig into these time masters books so that I could better understand was going on behind the scenes in the Kit Morgan stories. Wow! I wasn’t expecting to go as deep as it did. So far, their story is crazy and it seems that it’s only the beginning. I adore their connection and hate what they had to go through to get to where they are. I’m intrigued as to see what comes next.

Dallen ❤️ Shona 🧚‍♀️

Well, I must say this is exciting. I’ve never read anything quite like this! I love time-travel books, fantasies and double plots. This has it all. Dallen is kidnapped-captured from his timeline and trained in hand to hand warfare and personal combat but doesn’t know why. He is to be the protector of his wife, Shona. It is a long story with much mischief and evil, wrapped around a very sweet love story.

I Laughed, I Smiled, I Couldn’t Put It Down

I loved this book. I started out not knowing what to expect. If was interesting to go from the past to the future to the present. As the story went on I couldn’t put it down. One minute I’m laughing the next I’m on edge, then I’m in awe over the beauty. I can’t wait to read book 2.

Interesting different spin on sci fi

Story line was good with multiple threads. I liked the character dialogue and development. No real time travel in this book one. Humor in the story added interest.

Good clean story

This was a great story. I especially like the way the author put in the sexual tension without making it vulgar. It is hard to find interesting literature without the swearing and vulgarity that is not necessary to a good story line.

Rambling

Rambling storyline that is difficult to follow and does not engage my attention. storyline is disconnected and too much is repeated frequently. I will not be looking forward to more from this author.

Loved it

I know I'm late to the party and I normally don't read sci-fi but since I love Kit Morgan books I thought I should give these a try. This story grabbed me and didn't let go. She is a great story teller!

The Call. time masters book 1

I read this so I could find out how it started but, I must warn there is to much violence and bordering on the satanic . Other wise the story 8s good but could have done without Brennans behaviour

Fallen And Shona

Loved their story. I've read many books about Clear Creek and how this couple is talked a out. Did not know tell the other that they indeed have their story.
Well written and explained other characters. Also talked about others I have no idea who they.

Time travel was never my favorite genre but after reading The Cooke's Christmas and having read all of Kit's other books with the MacDonalds in it. I decided to go back and read the earlier Time Masters. I truly enjoyed The Call so now I'm binge reading the rest of the series. Interesting to know how the MacDonald's came about and fit in all the other books.

This book could've been about 200 pages shorter if they JUST TOLD PEOPLE WHAT WAS GOING ON.
I have never read a book where the author appeared allergic to having their characters know things.

I was scrolling through my library, realizing I still had some books I had yet to read. Ones I had purchased long ago and simply let sit. This story, was one that had been sitting in my collection for quite some time. Realistically, after three days of simple redundancy, I realized this book should not have been in my collection to begin with. As such, I hope to all that is holy I didn't actually pay money for this.

I am going to spare you all a synopsis of this story as there's just no point. Read the first few chapters and alas, you have read the book. See, no need to repeat it all over and over 500 pages worth. It was simply redundant, way too mystical, god knows too long, and what few redeeming qualities it did possess disappeared in and out like Dallan's Scottish accent.

Ok, let me hop off my hate box now. I am all for damsel in distress, big hero come and save me, and this book had it in spades, too much honestly. If you can get over the fact they meet and love each other, the romance is not too bad. I use the term romance lightly as, if a man came on to me the way Dallan approached Shona in this book, I'd be calling the cops, not be meeting him up in some garden. It was all a little too fantastical for my taste, even for a "mystical romance" or whatever sub genre you'd throw this into.

Hmm... Ok, I still sound like I'm on a hate box, even trying to be nice, so I'm going to conclude this review. The book simply wasn't any good. The little promise it showed was swallowed by 500 pages of text and bad plot. Forgive me author but try your hand at other things. 2 stars!

I have to be honest, what first appealed to me when I came across Time Masters was the gorgeous cover and the title. It certainly intrigued. However, the story itself is what kept me turning the page never guesing the end until the end. Gerarayn Beauchamp has crafted a fast paced, magical story centered upon two people, one a reluctant time traveling highland warrior and one a lost, magical Muiraran woman who is about to crash into her destiny. Two beings who come to realize only together can they hope to stop a great evil and save their worlds. Far more than a simple time travel, Geralyn Beachamp weaves in the best elements suspense, mystery, fantasy and my favorite romance. I'm so glad I found this book. I couldn't stop reading it. I can't wait for the next installment.
An absolute must read!
