The provocative author of Asking for It once again explores the dark side of erotic obsession, and the secrets that make it as dangerous as it is irresistible.

Some secrets should only be shared in the dark.

Jonah and Vivienne’s erotic bond—living out raw scenarios of captivity and force—began as no-strings sex between strangers who shared the same desires. Now the intimacy

★★★★! Begging for It, book 2 of 3. Vivienne & Jonah’s taboo rape fantasies has deeper meanings!

“We don't get all better; we don't fix everything that's broken. We just learn how to work around the broken bits. How to do the best we can with what we have, and who we are.”

Books in Asking for It series should be read in order:
Book 1: Asking for It
Book 2: Begging for It
Book 3: Asking for More

An extra half star for the writing. That was the only aspect I actually liked about this sequel.

QUOTE OF THE DAY (it's very telling):

"Playing games with Jonah--pretending to be raped for my own pleasure--it feels so much sicker while people are really being hurt."

I.Could.Not.Agree.More. Also, her allegedly guilty conscience seems ridiculous to me. It's like carrying coal to Newcastle. It doesn't prevent her from acting out her rape fanta

There’s no doubt, this book had some pretty big shoes to fill after it’s highly addictive and deliciously dark predecessor, Asking for It.

For me, it became apparent, pretty early on, things weren’t going to be as exciting or unique as the first time around. What made ASKING FOR IT a standout was the way it deviated from the norm and introduced something provocative and different. Something bold. A fresh perspective. This, on the other hand, was reminiscent of so many other romance/erotica novels

4 Beg for It Stars

Begging for it picks up right where Asking for it left off.

We learned a lot from asking for it. We learned that Jonah, as a child was forced to watch his mother get raped, which really messed him up, because of that, it’s a reason why he fantasizes about raping women. Jonah left Vivienne because he couldn’t handle Vivienne getting actually raped in the past. Vivienne is a mess and misses Jonah badly. I don’t blame the girl. What happens when your drug dealer leaves you? Jonah

Apparently I'm the cat, who was killed by curiosity, because I couldn't bring myself to skipping this one, even knowing there would be problems to expect. But of course I wanted to see it for myself, so here I am.
(There will be a mild spoiler later on, I'll mark it.)

It was still beautifully written, with amazing art references and deeply heartbreaking at times.

And while the first book was a psychological exploration of a kink, this one was a wild mix of different things. The author deci

When we last left Jonah and Vivienne, they were not together. Jonah was having a hard time with finding out the truth and with Vivienne not telling him. They are both miserable.

But...there just happens to be an actual rapist on the loose. Everyone is taking precautions but It.Keeps.Happening. And of course, Jonah is a suspect...even though Vivienne has been with him the times the rapes occurred.

Word gets out to Jonah's stepfather and all hell breaks loose prompting a visit to the w

One of the most fascinating, well-written, carefully thought-out stories I have ever come across, the Asking For It duet is nothing short of electrifying, and it owned my breath cover to cover. This series was quite a unique read and it was one of the reasons I was drawn from book one. I liked the whole forbidden concept, which was put together in a more reality based version. There probably are people in similar situations out there and I liked getting a glimpse of the issues they probably tackle. It wasn’t glamorised, it really touched real life and that really did make me enjoy reading this story.

Our hero interest, Jonah, will always be one of my number ones. He’s a profess

Not as good as the first one, I felt like the author could have solved the problems in maybe half the number of pages. The story kind of dragged on.
It was interesting nonetheless. There were things I liked and I liked how the problem was "solved". Just too long and a bit boring at times.

Begging For It had me begging for more! Corny, yes. But, hot dayum. So true! Begging For It was an incredible ride as the Jonah and Viv continue to figure out their relationship, come to terms with their mutual dark kinks of rape fantasy and deal with a real rapist who's terrorizing their city and has brought suspicions to Jonah's door. Darkly passionate, erotic and simply delicious.

This was book two for Jonah and Viv. Their first book, Asking For It, was amazing but left off with an open ending

This book is pure PERFECTION. My thought when finishing was, "Now what do I read?!" This is one of my top favorite series EVER. I am truly obsessed with this author and this story. Jonah and Vivienne are incredibly written characters, filled with depth and raw emotion. This is a very adult story, dealing with very adult subjects. I really enjoyed the first book in this duology, but Begging for It is just not as compelling as the first book for three reasons, imo:

1. While some messages underpinned the importance of recognizing/confronting abusive relationship, I found the sequel was missing tension , character development and focus.

2. The 'rape fantasies' in this book mostly went in circles, and gave little corroboration to the first book.

3. And, what is the point of HEA ending if (view spoiler)

Read for the 2018 DE A-Z challenge

I read the first book in this series awhile ago, which is pretty normal for me. Sometimes I do this when I really want to drag out a story I enjoy, and other times I do it because there’s another book I want to read. It’s the beauty of ADHD; my brain can move on very quickly. Anywho, the point is that I really liked the first book, Asking For It. The unflinching honesty and realism in the story appealed to me, and on a more superficial level, the sex

“Since when did life start giving us what we deserved?”

We loved the first book in this two book series so were eager to see how it was all going to end up for Jonah and Vivienne. This series is quite emotionally charged and hard to read at times. However, the writing is so incredibly beautiful and vividly expressed that you can’t not keep reading, wanting these two characters to heal themselves as well as each other.

What a perfect conclusion to easily one of the best books I have ever read. It was just as hot as the first one, except here we get to really explore not only the extent of their "games", but also what can happen outside the games.

I won't lie, this book made me want things I had never thought I wanted in a bedroom. You want to recommend it to everyone, but then blush when you realize you've just told your sweet little aunt to read something so dirty.

What a fantastic follow up to her first book! Just like she did in “Asking For It”, Ms. Pace has brought us back to the internal conflict Jonah and Vivienne face while they each struggle to accept their fantasies.

Vivienne and Jonah have a hard time settling into a relationship where their sex life is built solely on acting out rape and the power dynamic that goes along with it. For Jonah, there is the guilt that he is making Vivienne relive a

Please be Aware: This book deals with rape and rape fantasies. While the hero and heroine always have consensual sex, there are flashbacks and other scenarios where actual rape is discussed. Also, this is book two in a closely knit series. There are spoilers from book one.

Earlier this year, I read Asking For It by Lilah Pace, and was introduced to Jonah and Vivienne. That book (and this one) came with many warnings. Both Jonah and Vivienne had to deal with rape at a young age. Vivienne was rape

I loved Asking for It so I was really excited to read more of Vivienne and Jonah's story in Begging for It. I had such high hopes for them and I wanted to see them working through their issues both individually and as a couple. I wasn't expecting either of them to give up their kink, there's absolutely nothing wrong with two consenting adults enjoying whatever fantasy turns them on as long as nobody is getting hurt by it, but I did find it concerning that Vivienne couldn't enj

Lilah Pace’s conclusion to her stunning debut, Asking For It, is a continuation into the complex and convoluted erotic romance that dissects deep obsession, dark desires, and two people whose connection is fraught with pain and passion. A tense suspense filled mystery only heightens the sexuality of the characters and the storyline.

She’s addicted to Diet Coke, loves her dog, and daydreams about several British movie stars (though usually no more than two at a time).
