Not very detailed, didn't glean too much information. Wish there was more to read.

There's a lot packed in this relatively short guidebook, and I think combining 2 states and the District doesn't really allow any of them to be treated with any depth.

For Charlottesville, there's not a whole lot of listings (but thankfully, they do recommend Bodo's bagels, which every single UVA person I know recommended but few guidebooks do) for either food or things to do, but oddly enough, more lodging ideas than I know what to do with.

The book has a surprisingly good section on Baltimore, although necessarily skimpy due to space concerns, and the northern VA section gave me some good ideas of where to go around home.

This is a very detailed book on Virginia, Maryland, and Washington DC. I would have liked to see more about restaurants and hotels rather than monuments but this is a great starting point if you are planning a trip to the East Coast.
