“These aren’t just love stories… they’re battle scars — and paper cuts that tear your soul apart.”

Kali Willows is a storyteller who builds compelling worlds you can’t escape… and makes reality feel like the real punishment.

Her books bleed the human condition — love, hate, desperation, redemption — tangled together in soul-crushing romances that will rip you apart and stain you for life… in the best possible way.

Her characters? They’re not just names on a page — they’re raw, layered, and painfully real. Flawed, complicated, and impossible to forget, they’ll crawl under your skin, break your heart, and settle into your soul like they’ve always belonged there. You’ll love them. You’ll hate them. But you’ll never escape them.

From gritty outlaw MCs to seductive dragon-shifters, ruthless alphas, and the forbidden magic of the paranormal, her worlds are raw, relentless, and dangerously addictive — because beneath the lust, the shadows, and the danger, her stories bleed truth: love may destroy you… but it’s always worth the wreckage.

Every book hides deeper meanings. Every broken heart holds a lesson. And whether it’s a happily ever after or just happily for now, Kali’s stories promise one thing — you’ll never leave them the same.

Gripping. Gritty. Hauntingly beautiful. Romance that shatters you… and stitches your soul back together, piece by unforgettable piece.

The plot of this tale was definitely unique, making it stand out in the sea of paranormal stories that are out there. Willows develops her world and her cast in a quiet manner that allows you to understand them, even if you never agree with them. Fantastic descriptions meld with an engaging narrative to create a whole that both intriguing and satisfying. I love the way that she sparked both my imagination and my conscience throughout without preaching at her readers.

Luther’s arrogant ways really came back to haunt him. I have to admit that I enjoyed seeing him get what was coming to him. I appreciated what he went through as the novel progressed while also cheering over the fact that karma was ever present. He was an engaging main character without being someone that I found an instant connection with. It was a unique feel. I also enjoyed how his character morphed throughout the novel based on his trials and circumstances.

As a whole, this was a unique and captivating novel. I’d definitely recommend it to others looking for a paranormal type tale with a twist and a conscience.

A moving and inspirational tale about second chances. I loved the redemption arc and really enjoyed how Luther grew and discovered how actions can have far reaching consequences.

If I could give this book more than 5 stars I definitely would. This books is an emotional rollercoaster full of death, sins, greed, damnation, redemption, good and bad. You will start to read and not be able to put it down. This author has written a book that will make you think about your life and how you have lived it. This story is succinct and enticing and full of many well written characters. Characters that give life to the storyline and enthrall you the reader. This is the ultimate second chance at life and the way to do it right. The fight between good and evil is very well done and the ultimate question of whether you are a good person or a bad one. Every decision we make is a balance of good and evil at all times. I really enjoyed the premise and the characters. This author has outdone herself...well done.

It was an interesting read. Definitely something different from what I normally read.

The only thing that bothered me was all the fade to black scenes. I think the book would've been more interesting if we got to see the reactions.

I am normally not a paranormal reader but I was intrigued by Ms. Willows' tale of penance and redemption. There is is a lot not to like about Luther in the beginning of the book. While he has quite the business and conniving brain, he's not the swiftest on the ethereal uptake. Give fair warning to change his ways by an angel, he continues on his self-destructive path until he is suddenly dead.
Given the chance to redeem his soul and avoid spending eternity in purgatory, Luther sees the true interconnections of the people his life has touched. With help from an angel, Luther pursues his assignments, learning more about how his former life had been toxic to those around him. The storyline is tight and I love the way Luther is allowed to view his friends and family as both a bystander or as an ethereal being.
I came to like Luther in the end, his character has a drastic change of heart. The plot gives the reader food for thought about how each of us treats those that pass through our lives. There author hits a full range of emotions: love, lust, revenge, humor, and grief. I like her writing style and the pacing of this book. This is the first book I have read by this author and I am anxious to read another.

ARC received for a fair and honest review.

I found this a predictable read. It was flat. The opening scene is the lead being given a message from an Archangel... when writing the Angels... a cloaked figure, tall dark wings? Not how I see Angels appearing before us but each to their own and the speech? I'd have expected a better warning than that to open up a book to get me interested.

I just couldn't connect with the book sadly.

This book was entirely predictable. Light reading not much substance.

I read this in one sitting, it had me totally captivated.... it brought a mind something my grandmother said once. "always be careful how you treat people, you never know if you are dealing with an Angel "
Redemption is the name of the game for Luther when he dies and the book of life is opened, it really seems like he's going to blow it with his smart ass attitude. He's given one week to complete certain tasks. The Arch Angel Giselle is assigned to guide him only. Luther still has free will.
But can anything short of miraculous heavenly intervention get Luther to take this seriously enough to save his own soul?
