There was no build up. The heroine is probably one of the most unlikable and hypocritical characters I've ever read about.

Reviewing a Mara White book is a bit like clenching your hand to your heart. Her books are roller-coaster rides of emotions and THE DELIVERY is no different. Sexy, real, emotional and very gritty, Lana and Mozey will steal your heart even as you stand by in disbelief at the choices Lana makes along the way. But that’s like real life, no?

Lana is struggling to make ends meet, doing what she loves, helping at-risk kids. Her inner voice is often hilarious, which I appreciated in order

The Delivery is one of those books that takes you on a journey of self discovery, life and finding love and hope. It is about a connection and bond between two people that cannot be explained. Lana Finch is a 25 year old social worker who believes in saving one broken kid at a time. When Lana meets Mozey Cruz, an 18 year old artist who happens to be living in the states illegally, he challenges Lana to step outside the box. He chal

The very sucessful Author Mara White delivers again!

After suffering the biggest book hangover since The Heightsbound series, I dropped everything for The Delivery.
The beginning of a book has to seriously be one of the hardest things to nail and she is sucessful again - it was great! It had a great level of complexity and featured very believable characters. So refreshing!

I love the real edge it has to it.
I love that the characters are believable.
I love how I can really put myself there.
It's true
Mara's dialogue was snarky, witty, and intelligent. The Delivery was a forbidden romance between a client and a social worker. Mozey was an eighteen year old Mexican juvenile delinquent and Lana was a twenty-five year old American-Russian immigrant.
Lana maintained professionalism with her clients always focusing on helping them succeed until Mozey. Mozey was the forbidden fruit that tempted her from the moment she looked at his case file. She tried to adhere to her rules, procedures, and bounda

I am seriously in love with this author! The Delivery was an amazing read for me. I know when I read one of Mara's books that I'm going to get a beautiful story, one that is real and packed with emotion. I have to tune out the world around me and just soak in the story.

Lana Finch is a 25 year old Russian-American social worker. She has the best of intentions and truly believes in what she does. She helps juvenile delinquents get on the right path through the organization she works for. When she

Lana Finch is an idealist. She thinks that everyone deserves another chance at making things right. Even criminals.

When the file for Moisés Roberto Robles de la Cruz lands on her desk, she has no idea what she’s in for. He’s intelligent, talented, sinfully gorgeous and only eighteen. She knows that the instant attraction that they feel for each other will never amount to anything but the more she learns about this beautiful boy, the harder she falls for him.

Mara White has once again taken me on an emotional roller coaster, but this time in a more mature, edgy way. As a self proclaimed "number one fan" of the "Heights Bound series" I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book! The Delivery has the perfect mix of, tragedy, romance , comedy, and even history. From the first chapter you are drug into Lana and Moses love story and you are not let go until the end (well even at the end you will be wrapped up in them still) I truly feel like I learned som ...more

Another great read from Mara White. I was thrilled to see Ms. White had written another novel. I was surprised to see something new from her so quickly after finishing Fear of Heights. She is one hard working woman. I have to admit I was expecting a story, characters, and tone similar to the Heightsbound series. I was delighted to discover a tale of adventure, passion, and love woven with hilarious and heartfelt humanity. I laughed and laughed again as Mara took me on a fantastic voyage of self ...more

DNF at 62%.

This one had a blurb I liked the sound of so I bought it on a whim. The premise is good but in this case the execution is not.

Part I was readable. I thought that Lani was a little strange. I also thought Mozy was a little weird. The insta lust was just "off" to me. Like it didn't really make a whole lotta sense. The sense of commitment from Mozy, right from the start was a bit crazy.

Then Part II happened right after Lani has a conversation directly at the reader... hmmmm, weird.

This is my first Mara White read and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I really liked Lara. I thought the author did a great job of portraying her as real. Lara is twenty five and works with disadvantaged children as a social worker. It's there that she meets Mozey. He's eighteen years old and living in the streets illegally. Lara can feel the chemistry but fights it. I'm not gonna say much more about the storyline as I don't wanna spoil it. I will say the author took me on a heartwarming journey that wi

The Delivery is one of the best stories I've ever been told. Honestly, I don't know that I believe in soul mates, but from the very beginning I wanted them to be together. I loved that the story is a journey of their forbidden love, but every stop along the way felt like a destination. I loved the supporting cast. All of them. I had so much fun on this ride that by the end all I wanted for Lana and Moizes was there happiness. Either alone or apart. Very well written. Awesome book.

Once again Mara White has delivered an incredible story. I couldn't put this book down. I loved the main characters of Lana and Mosy so much, and their journey together was incredible. The depth of these characters were brilliantly written, by an amazing author. I would recommend this book as a must read.

Love has a way of sneaking up on you. Especially when you never asked for it. That can be said for Lana Finch. Twenty something. Has a routine life. When I first started this book I a preconceived notion that it would be your typical taboo love story; Woman falls in love with a younger guy resulting in the chance of her losing her job. But what I got in its place was a fantastic love story that pulled at my heart strings. I gobbled this book up within a day and a half and wish a second book or even a novella about these two would be released. There has to be more to this complex and heartwarming story.

The book is called 'The Delivery' and that is exactly what Mara White did. She delivered unique, memorable characters, a roller coaster of emotions and a story which will stay with you long after you finish the last page.

Mara has such a distinct way with words - I found myself re-reading sentences and paragraphs to really soak up her magical writing. She always takes her characters on unexpected journeys, which is such a refreshing change given that so many Indie books out there a

When I started reading The Delivery I had no idea what to expect and was pleasantly surprised when I felt an instant connection to Lara. Her everyday kind of girl appeal is what I liked most about her. From her physical description to the way her actions mirrored real life, I just kind of knew I was going to like Lara and connect with her on many levels.

Mozey, well I dare anyone who reads this book not to fall desperately in love with Mozey. He is such a complex character. He is a fantasy that c

I read this during a 24 hour period never having read anything by this author before. I had no idea what to expect, apart from the brief blurb. I do love a younger man, older woman scenario, maybe because my husband was only 17 when I met him and I was the grand old age of 20. Anyway all I can say is that I always check out this kind of story because I can relate to 'dating a younger guy'. What can I say about this book? I loved it, absolutely loved it. The Delivery's beginning was great. Lana and Moz didn't behave as ecpected which impressed me. You'd think you know what's going to happen and then Mara White surprises you.

Midway the story took an odd turn for me. Lana's behavior was so unprecedented I completely disconnected from her. The plot then took on a sort of dark comedy sheen to it thanks to drugs, a gay couple, and a weird hotel in a foreign country. It became a quest of sorts that started with finding Mozley, searching for his long

Mara White has done it again, what a excellent talent she has.
Lana is a social worker, her job is a project director at Pathways. She works with disadvantaged kids and helping them onto the right path in life.
Mozey is a 18 year old street artist with no citizenship and is almost due for deportation. There is a chemistry right from the onset of there first meet but Larna knows that it would be wrong to go there. He tries and tries to get her to open up but she

Mozey and Lana Where do I begin? I love the promise of a forbidden romance, especially one that isn't a stepbrother romance. I devoured this book in one sitting. It has angst, romance, and adventure. Lana is taken on her own adventure in these pages, one that forces her to learn who she is and what exactly she wants. Mozey He's rough around the edges, but loves with his whole heart. And once he's given it, that's it for him. I loved these two characters because they were different from the ...more

Mara White Delivers!!!

I am a huge fan of Mara White and was not disappointed in The Delivery..... Mozey and Lana's story was not a typical love story that spans a few years.... Mozey was a sweet charming sorta bad boy who is easy to fall in love with and Lana is a bit older and cynical Who I don't think feels like she deserves love. They come together in this beautiful love story....A must read in my opinion

The book had a great idea! The author's writing was decent. The book was edited. But I could not connect with the heroine who happened to the narrator of the story. She didnt seem a 25 year old working adult. I felt she could milked so much more from her characters.

Too much telling. Not enough showing of emotions.

Mara White is a contemporary romance and erotica writer who laces forbidden love stories with hard issues, such as race, gender and inequality.
