She said: “I have a boyfriend.” He said: “And I have bullets. His being in my way can be fixed.”🤣Emery wasn’t playing when it came to winning his Yummy back. Pressure was applied from the minute she walked back into his life. There were some suspenseful elements introduced in the middle of the story. I do feel like I wanted to see a bit more of the ending flushed out because there were a couple of big reveals that I would have loved to see more of the aftermath of.

Loved me some Emmy and Yummy. I love a good second chance romance and this delivered. Emery did not stop until he got his girl back. And twist and revelations wheww. Can't wait to see what's next from the Aldana family!

This was an amazing second chance gangsta love story. Yumi and Emery fell in love at a young age and ended before they could love each other as adults but fate stepped in and allowed for their paths to cross and their love to continue on. This story was filled with some twists and turns and some deceit that was diabolical, but the one thing that remained true was the love that Yumi and Emery had for each other and their desire to have their second chance love even when Yumi tried to fight her feelings when they first reconnected. Emery showed that what you do doesn’t have to define you as a person.

This is my first read by this author and definitely will not be my last. I am such a fan of Second Chance romances and this one definitely did not disappoint.. Emery and Yumi were high school sweethearts until she found out that Emery came from an underground crime family and broke up with him because he lied to her. She now is a defense attorney and is back in his realm of proximity when she’s tasked to defend his brother and cousin on a murder trial.. but here’s the thing she still has those feelings for him. She currently has a boyfriend and wants to desperately quit the case. She actually tried to drop the case, but it’s promised an opportunity to make partner if she continues on with it so she owe me does cause that’s a big goal for her.. now that Yumi is back in his life Emery is determined not to let her get away again and he applies pressure to her. Boyfriend be damned lol. No doubt he definitely gives unhinged but not in an off putting way. He gave my wife my wife energy throughout this book and let me know that he was putting anybody down that will get in the way of getting back his girl lol. One thing I can say about Yumi is that I will stand 10,000% behind her and support her rights in her wrongs..lol now what I will say is that this book has it moments of plot twists and surprises some that were shocking and some that were definitely not. it will leave you wanting more from some of the other characters in the book for sure. Emil, Emery‘s brother was the character that had really great growth in the book. When it first began I did not like him at all, and was hoping that he would’ve gotten offed at some point during the book, just because of some of the actions and things that he did, but by the end of it, and yes, I read the author note, I loved him so much. I still wanted more of his story and I hope that she changes her minds and we get a story because I feel like there is so much that she could do with his character.. So yes great book that I loved and I can’t wait to read what’s next from her. You’ll get spice as well as action and some funny moments too

1st freaking read of 2026
It was amazing, like Ms. Author, you wrote the hell out of these characters. There were turns I didn't expect, but thought about ...
Let me start with Emery, this man knew what he wanted and new he was gone get it. He was the right amount of unhinged and classy. He knew that he lost the best thing he had but was so determined to get it back and when Yumi reenters his life he is full speed ahead to get her back permanently, even if that means kidnapping her, haha. He had some hilarious lines.
Yumi was a strong one, I didn't like how she let her family run her back then and a lil in the present, but when she put her foot down, she put her foot down. I loved how she handled the situation with her people after rekindling what she had with Emery.
1 thing is for certain and 2 things for sure...Yumi dad and cousin were bitch ninjas for the shit they put them through just to hide they hoe and sexual preferences. like bitch behavior for sure. I was happy she still held her mom accountable but was willing to keep an open relationship with her. Also, on that note. Liam was a pu**y a** hoe. you mean you been doing what for how long and want to do what? I would have had to tag his ass with hands cause ain't no way. Like Yumi heart wasn't in it anyways but she also didn't want to hurt his lying ass.
So, all this to say this was a great way to bring in the new year. Rose Dior is 🔥

Due to family interference, Emery and Yumi's relationship ended when they were in high school. Twenty years later, they cross paths again when Emery's brother and cousin need representation in a murder trial and Yumi is one of the lawyers assigned to the case. It's not long before Emery and Yumi rekindle their relationship because Emery wasn't letting up on Yumi. I loved, loved how Emery was about Yumi. He would totally burn the whole town down about her, and I loved that for her. This second chance book kept my attention from the very first page to the end. It had so many twists and turns, a lot of drama and so many betrayals especially by some family members that I wanted to throat punch. Y'all need to read this book because you won't be disappointed!!

This was a very nice love story! Emery was not letting go of Yumi his first and only love! Emery stood on business! I knew there was something odd about her father and cousin! Thankfully, her bestie was ride or die. Emery stood his vdound.with the family, he wasn't going to marry just anyone, just because....Emery support for Yumi never wavered even when they were just in high school. Hopefully, Ellis grows up for real because Mina is playing no games with him at all.
I loved the ending and hope to see more of them.

Very good read!
Under His Law was another good one! Emery and Yumi couldn’t resist each other, honestly they didn’t even try 😆! It’s crazy how family be all up in their grown kids business and they business be all out if wack with skeletons all in the closet! Yumi’s dad should have been put under either some dirt or a jail, old shiesty tail!
I wouldn’t mind reading Emil and Mina story or a story about Carmen and Mook.

Whew chile, these parents be trash foreal smh. Anywho, this was such a great read!! Mina shocked me the most; like I understand the hurt, but if Mill would’ve took it there, she would’ve had to accept that too like he did. Don’t really need their book, but what’s up with Mook?!

Love it!
Sometimes family ain't sh*t! To tear someone's relationship apart to protect secrets that still could be exposed is nasty work. Real love can be delayed but not denied as proved by Emmy and Yummy. True definition of snakes in the grass. Great read!

Whew! This book had me on a rollercoaster, I knew that Yummy dad and cousin was behind that bs, it was to many coincidences with them. I knew their hate had to be deeper than that, so glad that they were busted. The love yummy and Em had was my type of love!!! 10\10 I DEFINITELY WOULD RECOMMEND!!!

Every time i turned the page there was something. I was locked in the whole time, I really enjoyed this. Emery was an unhinged sweetheart. Yumi pissed me off at times but she got it together. New to me author, I’m looking for to checking out more of her catalog.

Crime boss and the Defense attorney
This book came together very well. The fact that the MMC don’t play about the FMC is amazing. Even when it came to her sucker ass daddy and cousin. How do your family hate on your love life so badly just because they are horrible people and holding secrets. I’m happy the MMC’s brother was able to grow up and love on Nina correctly. It took a long time but he finally got there. This book was absolutely great.

A Great Book
This book was really good, I love the pressure Emery brought the whole time behind Yumi. I knew they were destined together!! I'm so glad Emil learned and saw the errors of his ways. Hopefully him and Mina will get their relationship on track. I did wish to see Mook with a significant other or maybe Yumi's best friend that would be a good story to read. Overall I enjoyed this book!!!

Emery and Yumi!! I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. Emery and Yumi reconnected after Emery's family hired Yumi's firm to defend his brother and cousin from a muder charge. Emmy was straight pressure behind Yumi! This was a really good second chance at love story.

I really enjoyed reading Emery and Yumi’s second chance at forever and how Emery was intentional in his per suit of them reconnecting. I like the fact that they were still in love with each other regardless of the years that they were apart. I really wanted to drop kick Yumi’s family especially her dad and cousin. I was glad that her mom came around after finding out the truth but I would feed Chanel from a long handle spoon since she’s still very affiliated with Zeke. I’m glad that Emil and Amina reconciled once he matured and grasped on to a King is nothing without his Queen. Carmen and Mook….hmmmm, I would like a book about them two. Normani and her father were humbled very quickly and efficiently by Emery but I feel as though he should’ve unalíved them instead of giving them the opportunity to seek revenge in the future.

I enjoyed this book. Yumi was a refreshing MFC, in that she wasn’t your typical damsel in distress. She wanted love, but not at the expense of her values or independence. She wanted the bad boy, but he had to be willing to change his lifestyle.
The pacing of the storyline was a little off to me towards the end with Mina’s confession about her involvement with the court case but, it was a great read.
