I was expecting sweet stories and that is exactly what I got. Sherryl Woods story was about providing clothes and other items needed for kids to go to the prom who otherwise wouldn't be able to go. I would give this story 3 stars. It was just too sweet and the dad couldn't say no to his teenage daughter. Hey, dad, life is going to say no to her so she needs to hear it from you. A great teaching moment for her.

After reading more than one of this series, I believe the formula has a serious flaw. The editors are asking writers of fiction to produce stories based upon real situations, and most of them have come out as stilted, artificial constructs in my opinion.

Volume 4 contains 5 stories, and only the last one was any good. I feel this is because the author, Kathleen O'Brien, used the real life situation as a backdrop for showing the sucess of one of the beneficiaries, rather than spending much time se ...more

Linda traces the birth of her writing career to the day when a Northport teacher told her that the stories she was writing were good, that she just might have a future in writing. Later, when she decided to write novels, she endured her share of rejection before she sold Fletcher’s Woman in 1983 to Pocket Books. Since then, Linda has successfully published historicals, contemporaries, paranormals, mysteries and thrillers before coming home, in a literal sense, and concentrating on novels with a Western flavor. For her devotion to her craft, the Romance Writers of America awarded her their prestigious Nora Roberts Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007.
Long a passionate Civil War buff, Linda has studied the era avidly for almost thirty years. She has read literally hundreds of books on the subject, explored numerous battlegrounds and made many visits to her favorite, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, where she has witnessed re-enactments of the legendary clash between North and South.
