Hands of Mercy is my favorite of the Bending Willow Trilogy. That doesn’t happen very often when it comes to a series of books. But this series just kept getting better and better. This book was well written and flowed beautifully. There’s never a dull moment. Ms. Stastny knows how to keep the reader engaged. In the middle, I couldn’t see how there could possibly be a happy ending. Some parts were very hard to read. The author promised there would be a happy ending, so I kept reading and I’m gla ...more

In the final book in the Bending Willow Trilogy, James and Suvi are married and starting a family. In this one, it's James's time to shine, and while the triangle between Suvi, James, and Austan continues, in many ways, it's James's story, and a good one at that. Though I didn't always agree with his choices, I enjoyed his transformation as he struggled to face his demons--both literal and figurative. Given my preference for thrillers, I gravitated more toward the action sequences than the roman ...more

A great conclusion to an emotional, fast-paced trilogy. I have really grown to love and know the characters. They aren't one-dimensional, and I like that. The "good" guys have real struggles and the "bad" guys have relate-able wants and ambitions. This book is heavy at times, and deals with more mature situations, but if you like an intense read, lessons in redemption and such, check out this series.

Great enough to read each book in the series

I found this series to be a great page Turner and liked that each book came to a natural stand alone ending... A skill many current authors have a difficult time achieving.
I was some what disconcertef hat the character, Suvi, was a,luttle over the top in some ways... Made her less likeable to me as a reader.

Best story ever

This trilogy has been so enjoyable to read. It's full of suspense and a true love story. The characters are portrayed very well, and of course good overcomes evil. It makes me do grateful for our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Wow! Just when you think things can't get any crazier for the newly wed Hinton's things go into hyperdrive! Once again Suvi is forced to go into hiding because of threats from "the Dragon". Only this time she had a small colicky infant. In an attempt to give Suvi more time to escape with Austin, James tries a diversion tactic that ends up sending him into the hands of "the Dragon" and an adventure he never bargained for.

This book will keep you up at night, hoping for a happy ending for this cou

The third in the series, I really liked how Stastny tied everything together. I just really love Stastny's writing! I enjoyed every page of this book (and series). I enjoyed the characters and the twists and turns in the story. Each book got better and better and I loved this one! I really enjoyed the writing and the character development. Stastny's writing is fantastic. I agree with an Amazon reviewer who said that some of the book is hard to read - there is some graphic violence, but it kept m ...more

I must admit I was frustrated with the story. How much could Suvi and James endure? Didn't they deserve a happy ever after? Yet it was through James' sacrifice that a chance to describe Christ's sacrifice that made the book worthwhile.

Charissa Stastny is an avid reader, happy writer, BYU graduate, and lover of irises, clouds, chocolate, sushi, and the outdoors. Though she was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, she has never pulled a handle of a slot machine and can’t shuffle cards to save her life. She does shuffle kids, laundry, and church responsibilities rather well though. She has lived in Nevada and Idaho, but currently ...more
