i felt like i should include this since it took up most of my reading time. it was a lot more understandable than my prof’s lectures, but unfortunately wasn’t that good at preparing me for tests
Great textbook. Simple, accurate, and concise in its explanations. However, some sections (e.g. thermodynamics, chemical kinetics, Gib’s free energy, etc.) could use some more elaboration on theoretical underpinnings.
Found this in half-price(d) books, although it was published in 2007, it is a really good comprehensive textbook. Way better than most of the textbooks I've read.
Not a very good textbook. Explanations were often unclear, even worse than my professor's which is saying something. Also includes these annoying little extra sections for more confusing topics, but they just confuse even more.
Chem was fun. I am prone to learning class material on my own and using lecture as a supplement to my understanding. As such, I don't know if this book was good or bad, but I did well with it.
Even though I seldom refer to this book, and have never and will never "read" the thing, I just feel that if I do have a chemistry question this book will answer it.
