My kid's loved this story and it still holds up. Perfect fantasy read aloud for a day when tea and cookies is just the thing.

This colorful picture book is about a young boy, James, who visits his aunt. He gets sad when he does not get a tour of the house, but when the bear comes along, James gets into some trouble with the bear after deciding to look for macaroons. The illustrations in the book are wonderful, very colorful and detailed. I would, therefore, use this book to show students that their illustrations can do most of the talking, but the words can help the illustrations talk.

This is a perfect picture book. All kinds of hidden things to find, well invented not-to-scary monsters, a very calm rescue/denoument. It's beautiful and I love it.
