After stumbling over the main character's name Elodie I had to send a message off to Jessie to see how it's pronounced. It rhymes with Melody. Now that I can read her name correctly let's get onto the great story.

Ugly Ross isn't so ugly anymore and stinky Elodie smells much better. Two kids who found young love at the ripe age of 12 before Elodie went to live with her grandmother, find each other again as adults. In this short story, The two reunite and rekindle that young love into a growing pa

Jessie Evans is the Queen of novella's. The. Queen. No one can tell a full length novel packed with emotion, lust, humor, love and sadness into a pint sized book like she can! I have liked Ugly Ross since Leather and Lace. He's sweet and fun and not at all ugly. He fell in love when he was twelve and he never forgot the most interesting girl he'd ever known, Elodie. He has so many memories of that little girl, some good and some bad. Bullies never seemed to leave either one of them alone, giving ...more

"Because heroes come in all sizes and shapes, love is as real at twelve as it is at fifty-two, and love makes even the most timid hearts brave."

Ross Dyer and Elodie Prince have always been there for each other. Even way back when they were kids, they each saw something special in the other, and were there to be the other's safe place. But life, as life will, took Elodie away from Lonesome Point, leaving the both of them with only the memory of a love that had just started to blossom. When life i

It's time for NOT SO Ugly Ross's story!

I have been hoping and begging for this story since I first met the horribly nicknamed Ugly Ross and of course Jessie did not disappoint in Sunny with a Chance of True Love!

I still cannot get over the fact that I read this book in one just a few short hours! I was literally HOOKED from page one and just couldn't put it down! I didn't even stop to potty or youngest was napping and my oldest was at I just knew that I w

I have read the whole Lonesome Point TX Series and love every book. I was so excited to when I found out Ugly Ross was getting a novella. His nickname may be Ugly Ross but he is anything but...

When Ugly Ross first fell in love he was only twelve and the girl didn't even know it and now it was too late, she was moving away from Lonesome Point and all the bullies that made her life miserable. The only person that really knew her not as Stinky Elodie but as the most interesting girl he knew was Ro

Jessie Evans has definitely attained a place in my heart and is assured of a place on my “must read” list. Through each of her series she has her own enchanting and delightful way of creating a world of characters that I can lose myself in for hours. And through this amazing novella in her Lonesome Point Texas series, Ms. Evans continues to reign. I have read the complete series, and with each story she writes, she continues to capture me with her fantastic characters (both good and evil) with a ...more

**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This novella is part of the Lonesome Point, Texas series and is a must read.

Ugly Ross was named so as a child as there was another Ross in his classes that as well as being the bully was also better looking than him. But if you get the chance to get to know him, you very quickly realise that the name Ugly Ross does not suit him at all.

Yes he was a little awkward as a child, but to be honest most boys go through thi

This book made me happy. Ugly Ross, who is anything but 'Ugly' finds his true love with Elodie, and their story is magical.

I love Jessie, and this story shows all the reasons why her writing is fantastic, and her books are must reads.

Ugly Ross. When Jessie announced she was finally gonna give us his story I was so happy because he's been intriguing me since Leather and Lace. I have to say that I was overjoyed by what we got because Ross is anything but ugly! He's the best kind of friend and the best kind of person. His unfortunate nickname was the result of a bully's vindictive nature, but he never let it determine who he was though I think it did allow him to hide from what really made him happy for a long time.

Young Love's Second Chance - a definite 5++ stars

Wow, Jessie has done it again. I LOVE her writing and this series set in Lonesome Point are absolutely amazing. This book centers around Ugly Ross, who is part of the group that Mia grew up with. We've seen him here and there in the other books, especially in the first book, as one of the pranksters with Mia and Bubba, when they were putting panties all over town.

We get to see a little bit of Reese and Grayson's wedding during the first part of t

3/5 stars

When there are 2 Ross’s in the same class, there has to be a way to differentiate. Ugly Ross used to be “ugly” when he was in grade school. He was tall, scrawny, all knees & elbows with a nose that didn’t fit his face and “cow poop” brown eyes. Of course, he was teased, ridiculed & bullied by the other Ross & his friends. But Ugly Ross also had his own group of friends in Mia, Tulsi & Bubba, a

Ross is my new favourite!

Lonesome Point, Texas is a great place to live but even this lovely town is not immune to the challenges of life. Elodie Prince, small and prone to stuttering as a child, spent her childhood growing up neglected and easily targeted by the bullies at school. Ross Dyer knew all too well that same shame as his nickname came to be “Ugly Ross”. When they were kids, despite the flaws others saw in them so quickly, they only saw the good in each other. A spark was lit! Separate

Ugly?!?! Ugly Ross is anything but UGLY! He is the friend that you can count on, who is funny, sweet, cute, with a beautiful soul and just a wholesome good man. Definitely not UGLY! I was so thrilled to see him in his own novella. Loved him the first time I was introduced to him in Leather and Lace.

Ross had fallen in love when he was twelve years old with Elodie, the awkward, quiet girl that was different from the southern bells of Lonesome Point. The two spent their school days playing with bu

You know when you have an author's you really enjoy reading and you'd love to review one of their books. Well Jessie Evans is one of those authors for me. And I'm so happy I finally got to review one of her books. Or in this case a novella.

This story follows "Ugly Ross" and "Stinky Elodie" who were bullied when they were younger. This story touched a special place with me. Not because I was bullied as a kid. But because my own children have been bullied.

Than skipping ahead 14 years where "Ugly

Wow… take two kids, both bullied in sixth grade that are torn apart by unfortunate circumstances. “Stinky” Elodie and “Ugly” Ross are torn apart when she is taken from her home in Lonesome Point to go live with her Grandma in Houston. These two were secretly crushing each other at 12 years of age before she disappeared from his life and the chance of a first kiss.

Fast forward 14 years to Lonesome Point’s version of Groundhog Day. Soon he sees a girl he recognizes as his little friend who is all

I've been waiting for a story about Ugly Ross since the first chapter of Leather and Lace (Lonesome Point Book 1) and boy was this worth the wait!

Ross and Elodie are two people who simply don't fit in. They started out as childhood friends and discovered a blooming love when Elodie has to move away at the age of 12. Now she's back in Lonesome Point and they pick up right where they left off.

I will admit I cheered and I cried. I love the fact Jessie tackles the tough subject of bullying with this

Sunny with a Chance of True Love: The Ballad of Ugly Ross (Lonesome Point Texas)

Jesse Evans tells the story of Ugly Ross like no other. Thank you for such a wonderful story.

Although Ugly Ross is not the strongest kid or man when grown up..... he is the strongest intellectually and ends up winning the fight while only using his brains.

The story moves you through Ugly Ross' life as a boy to manhood and takes you on a very thrilling ride through it all. There will be lots of smiles and lots of tea

Ugly Ross, finally gets his story, and its with the girl who stole his heart when he was 12! Elodie comes back to Lonesome to see if the boy who was nice to her when they were kids, is a man who is still worth her heart to.
The bully from their childhood, is still in Lonesome and is still a douche who likes to bully. It will take these two standing up to their childhood bully, for them to find happiness.

This is the SWEETEST book in the Lonesome Series.

I have loved every other book in this series but this one was just hard to read. The story felt rushed and thrown together as an after thought. The characters were not well developed. At least with the other books we were relatively familiar with at least one of the main characters from appearing in the other books but Ross was a character not really developed in any of the other story's. It was so hard for to stay focused while I read this book; my mind kept wandering, hoping it would just don' ...more

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Another fantastic story from Jessie Evans! This one touches on the real-life issue of bullying and it was superbly well-written. Loved getting to know Ross and meeting Elodie. It was great to see them as both kids and adults. The inclusion of Mia and Tulsi, and Clementine, added to the story. Overall, a quick and sweet read. Highly recommend! Five stars!

Another Gem From Lonesome Point

This has to be one of the sweetest stories I have ever read. Ross and Elodie were both intriguing characters who came from a childhood of bullying, but built themselves into amazing adults. They were real, raw, strong, and perfect for each other. I loved that they knew what they wanted, recognized what they had, and let no one stand in their way.

I loved the message just be yourself, so many of us think we can't, but the is one person out there waiting to love the true you. That's exactly how it is for Ross and Elodie. This book also deals with the topic of bullying which I went through in school myself. ...more
