GUTTERFISH is the first in a series of books by John-Paul Jimenez for children growing up in urban environments that taps into the wonder of imagination by beautifully transforming the streets and settings of our everyday surroundings into a magical world where incredible creatures live and the fantastic is made real.
GUTTERFISH invokes the wonder and magic of discovery by revealing the intimate world of the evolutionarily fantastic fish living in the curbside puddles of our neighborhoods. It transforms the stagnant, dank waters into vibrant aquariums where these tiny fish live out their lives. The biological mystery of the Gutterfish is told through beautiful artwork and poetic prose, appealing to children of all ages.

The best children's book I've read since I was a child. Who doesn't like a kids' book with subliminal evolutionary messages in an urban setting?

Liked it so much, commissioned my husband to write a piece to go along with it. (The music kicks some serious butt too!)
