Interesting retake/reboot of our hero, continually rebooted... this time illustrated by artist JR JR, whom I have enjoyed since his first issue illustrating Iron Man in 1978-9.
I'll keep reading. This issue is a setup for a book-length story, and as such, is a brief first chapter. As I stopped following the character more than a year back when Grant Morrison stopped writing Action Comics, I'm not too hip to the New 52 continuity. The Daily Planet gang appears here to good effect.
Mostly: yay! John

Leave it to Geoff Johns to copy the story of Superman, almost verbatim to weave a new hero and an interesting new plot and make it instantly captivating. Everything he touches is gold. The man is a genius.

Yes yes yes!! This is how a comic book should be written. It has such a great start to the story that is going to continue for a few issues. More comic books should be written like this!
