Holy crap. Holy shit. Holy hot dogs on a flaming barbecue.

I was literally shaking with anger, no, murderous rage last night as I read this volume. I can't even rate it because I can't tell if I liked it or hated it. What I hated, despised, wanted to strangle, was Akito. If that motherf*cker lays one more of his slimy, disgusting hands on my Kyo, I will rip. him. apart.

I can't really explain my torrent of emotions I felt while reading it, so I'll just explain it in gifs.

WHY!? JUST WHY!? HOW CAN ALL THIS BE HAPPENING!? IT MAKES ME SO UPSET! I CAN'T HANDLE MUCH MORE OF WHAT'S GOING ON HERE! Okay, people! Listen up! This volume has a whole bunch "WTF!?" moments! It's so filled with juicy new twists and turns! Hell, you even see some of the truth be revealed to you! Finally, right? Took long enough to find out what the "curse" really is. Don't worry. I won't tell you. I'll let you find out about that for yourself. But man... wasn't that crazy? I was so angry throug ...more

I finished watching the Fruits Basket anime a few weeks ago and was very disappointed that there were only 26 episodes. I love these characters so much, I needed more. So I decided to start reading the manga.

This was great. Just as good (if not better) than the anime. All my favorite characters, like Kyo and Yuki and Shigure, are here. Yay, Fruits Basket! I really think Akito is an intriguing character. I wouldn't say I like him/her but s/he is a very complex character, one that you can't even b

Oh man this was stressful. So much abuse, so much sweet, so much awful. This was scary. At some point this stopped being cute and became scary. I don't know if I can take another, what, 10 books of this? I'm so afraid for them all.

Akito's behavior becomes more and more infuriating with every new appearance. I swear if it were possible to throat punch fictional characters, I would have done that to him by now lol. Hate how he picks on those smaller than him.

FINALLY.

My biggest issue with this series (both the anime and manga) is that the storyline never seems to grab my full attention. It's an entertaining read with a nice cast of characters, but I've always felt a little lost when it comes to the story. It was the type of story that was just . . . happening.

Now, finally, I'm seeing a bigger point to the story and can see a goal the characters are working themselves towards. There's something bigger for me to anticipate than just meeting new charact

Spoilers ahead. You have been warned.

Oh my god. The librarian was right! She likes manga too, and she said this series was really good, but didn't get SUPER good until volume 11. And she was so right!!!!

XD XD XD XD XD XD XD!!!!!!!!

this volume was AMAZING! Really giving some amazing character development to both kyo and Tohru. I love them both. :D at first glance, she really isn't much of a strong female lead. Which are so important for young readers. But as the series progresses and especially

Thank GOODNESS, this is now the series I remember. We're done being cutesy with new members of the zodiac (who I thought were both unfunny and repulsive - even though that stupid ram kid is getting better, he's still really obnoxious, and I just skip over his dialogue so I don't get pissed off. I also hate the boar and the monkey), we're back to the wonderful main characters and storyline. The drama is ramping up, we learn how sinister the fates are of these beloved characters, we learn just how ...more

Boy, this was intense. I was putting off Vol. 10 & 11 for this exact reason. Akito. That bastard. One of the biggest plot twists ever. I was totally not expecting it.
A classic "I'll only read one chapter" situation in which I read pretty much the whole thing in one sitting.
*Me patiently waiting for Vol. 12 to be available for borrowing*

Kyo reveals his true feelings for Tohru. Akito's hostile and cruel attitude towards Kyo and the members of the zodiac can be disturbing to read He is such an unstable, hostile and jealous character. But when he hit Momiji though, I was done. And so the plot thickens.....

Well, I really steamed through this volume. I started it on the train this morning so had maybe 20 minutes there, and then finished at lunch so another 15 or so. 200ish pages in around 30 minutes, I think that must be a record even for me!

I am quite surprised I didn't pick this book up yesterday, I know I usually do read this volume very quickly after volume 10. But I think having that break made me think more about what happens here. And I've found that I really like that Tohru realises she may

This wasn't my favourite volume. It was kinda dark, and took a strange turn at the end. I'm finding myself increasingly unable to keep track of who all of the characters are because I'm just not used to how someone can have 4 different names, and most of the characters look really similar. I'm sure it would help if it wasn't in black and white, but right now I'm just confused.

Let's start from the top shall we? Fruits Basket is about a newly orphaned high school freshmen, Tohru Honda, who chooses to spend the three months after her mothers death in a tent on a reserve. The only reason she did this is because her Grandfather, who she was original going to live with, needed to have his house rebuilt and she didn't want to be a burden on anyone. So no one knew she lived in the forest, until one day one of her classmates, the “beloved prince” Yuki Sohma, stumbles across h ...more

I have finally read the eleventh volume in the popular “Fruits Basket” series by Natsuki Takaya and man was this volume way more intense than the other volumes I have read! In this volume, Tohru is finding out about the Sohma family’s many deadly secrets about themselves that would put her world into jeopardy. Also, to add on to the startling secrets of the Sohma family, an enraged horse comes after Tohru! Could this horse be apart of the zodiac and why is it chasing after Tohru? Also, Kyo final ...more

Fruits Basket volume 11 represents a turning point for the series. It starts out where the tenth volume ended. Tohru and the Sohma family are spending their summer vacation at a cabin (or cabin-like place). Tohru is left alone much of the time as Akito demands the family's constant attention. Kyo, as the hated cat, is the only one who Akito does not want to see. He alone keeps Tohru company. Finally, even Kyo is summoned to Akito's presence and Tohru is totally alone.

In this volume we meet the f

This volume was heavy compared to the last one. It mainly deals with Akito being an ass to everyone he comes in contact with. He beats the crap out of numerous family members (and non-family members). He has a fit and yells at Tohru for trying to steal the Sohmas from him, and ruins everyone's lives as best as he can. I honestly wish some horrible accident would befall him. He's such a jerk, and not in a regular jerk kind of way. It's more in a beat the living crap out of anything that disagrees ...more

OH MY GOD-
Shit really hit the fan with this one.
So first of all we have Yuki's tender forehead kiss moment from before, but then Akito is meeting with everyone. This results in Kyo and Tohru being left alone... and we hear about Kyo's magic bracelet apparently made from a someones blood and bone...I really wonder who asked/forced someone to make that sacrifice- how old is the bracelet?
Akito eventually calls for Kyo and, after of course he confesses his obvious love for Tohru, we finaly hear the
