“If you love something, kill it. Before it kills you.”

I am a villain, a monster and am here with a plan to execute. She is not part of my plan. She is poison and she is going to kill me.

I will let her, because my broken black heart beats with love for her.
~ Callum

Death follows me like a shadow creeping silently after me, tethered to my blackened soul. I am cursed to carry it with me everywhere I go. It is never far away from me, and I am perfectly happy with that. The dark shadow of death keeps me alive in this rotten fucking world.

He took my madness and broke me. I am going to kill him.

4.5 Poisonous Stars!

Damn! This book really truly fucked me up.

"This is a dark, twisted disturbing story. It contains graphic violence, sex and themes of rape, murder and abuse. These characters are not going to turn into soft mushy reformed good guys, they are bad. If you are looking for hearts and flowers with rainbows ridden by unicorns, this book will upset you. If you are easily offended or slightly prudish, it will probably offend you too. This is not a love story, it is the story of how disastrous the wrong kind of love can be. If you are slightly twisted and enjoy the darker side of love this will be right up your alley."

Did you read the WARNING? It's not a tactic to sell, it's a true warning. So, make sure you like a plate of madness, and a side of disturbing before you embark on this journey.

Monochrome My Madness can be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading Colour My Ugly first, because it gives an outline, how the characters tie in, and the players in the mob family. Plus you have to meet Rowan. You just have to.

Callum, a child of the Irish Mob, thrown to the side, left to do the dirty work, without recognition. He's back with a vengeance. He will rule. Shannon is labeled the poisonous princess, a pawn in a game of murder and revenge. These two are deadly, disturbed, a match made in hades.

"Please tell me I haven’t murdered her. I don’t want to start killing them. I just hurt them, hurting them helps. It fixes me."

They both have a burning itch that only leads to destruction. How do sociopaths find love? Do they have this emotion, or it is an illusion? I finished this book last night, I was crazy with thoughts. Madness in love. There is no love in madness. I went mad, I've fallen off my rocker. This author body slammed me. What did I just read? Hmmm. I felt like I was swimming in a sea of depravity right along with these characters. As I lay in bed, I think, "she just fucked me, and I didn't even get a date." This book will bring you to your knees and question your morals. The characters are not only flawed, but completely crazy. It leaves you to ponder the true nature of sociopaths, can they love? In a sense, I felt this need to protect, this need for an happy ever after. I don't usually need an happy ending. But their past was horrifying, tragic. Do killers deserve the right to be happy.

Are you born mad, or does the world you live in create madness?

Highly Recommended.

Wow! I usually avoid writing reviews because English is not my native language, but I couldn’t pass this one. I think dark readers are going to love this. I would describe it as a dark mafia romance or psychological thriller. It starts disturbing and I thought “Oh, no”, but then couldn’t stop reading. It’s about two really bad people that fall for each other, but you start to like them, see what shaped them and you are wondering who is going to win at the end. Is there a winner in this game of life and death? Sorry for the cliché but it is what it is. So, do monsters attract monsters? Can two monsters have genuine feelings for each other, play with each other and what do they crave? Isn’t it what we all? Is this love between them or is it a coping mechanism for Shannon and opportunism for Callum? Who is worse – Callum or Shannon? I liked the writing, I liked the characters, but I don’t want to meet them in real life ;) The book can be read as a standalone and it’s free on Amazon.

“I don't believe in God or miracles, I believe in the human heart and our own strength to overcome and survive. ”

Monsters, villains,... I do love them all. I need dark books like I need air. But when you read about a need to kill over and over again it gets old. I liked this book but I just couldn't connect with characters and therefore 3*.

Fave Quote :
“I am sorry Callum, I was drowning in all of this, I have lost myself and I didn’t know how to cope so I did what I always did before. It didn’t work, I couldn’t kill you because my heart only beats with yours and I love you. If you die, I die.” I feel my tears burning and stinging as they fall down my cheeks and the weight of my actions falls heavier on my heart. “You changed me, you changed how I work."

My Rating :
Dark twists level: 10/5
Caracters: 10/5
Complicated Storylines : 10/5
Steamy scene: 2.8/5
My Rating: 4/5

Oh my Gawd! I can't! I just cannot! Reading about these perfectly shattered, broken souls, I feel somewhat healed if a cold, dark, empty heart could ever be.

Here I thought I loved Rowan but loving Callum well this supersedes anything I ever thought to feel for his poor brother. Callum is a very complex individual, he feels everything so keenly, he hates everything and most of all himself.

When two broken souls find each other in this fake, calculating, dark abyss of life, they both go up in flames like a ticking time bomb just waiting to explode. And although I loved Shannon she finally found the peace she so richly deserved.

The real heroine of this lovely broken piece is Avery, she was a spark of truly genius creativity and I adore the light and shiny love the Author penned about this new generation. Cannot wait for her story!

So thank you once again my beautiful dark Queen, love you to bits and pieces! Now I know I am destined to be the new O'Reilly Queen.

This was one fucked up, dark book! It was so much better than first (even the editing)!!
Callum's story was even more violent and disturbing than Rowan.
*insert* Shannon...OMG she is devil personified. Together they are scary as hell and pure evil.
This book definitely took me out of my comfort zone which is always a 'score' for me.

Be super sensitive to the warnings: there is no warning exaggerated where this one is concerned. The ending is just as fucked up as book 1 and now I have to HOPE for a little peace of mind with book 3....hahaha yeah right.

ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT

This is not a heart and flowers romance, it's about a serial killer and a serial poisoner. If you're looking for a sweet love story, this is not for you. However, if like me you like dark and seriously messed up then read on!

Hmmm...

It is extremely rare for me to post anything less than a three. To be fair, I DNF.

Why? The grammar was intolerable. Run-on sentences, poorly placed commas, and plurals spelled as possessives plagued the writing. It was distracting to the extreme.

There was no way I could have lost myself in the book. The lack of proofreading was too distracting. I gave up after a full 10%.

I enjoy this author; if the book is ever republished after a good proofread, I'd like to read it again.

Where in the hell do I even start? I started this book last night, and I devoured it. It had me hooked. Going into this book, I had mixed feelings. I was very heartbroken with how the first book ended, so there was that. Add to the fact that I just didn't know what the heck was going on with Callum, and I was really nervous about reading this book. But wow, did this book knock the wind out of me. This is the story of Callum and what explicitly happened after he left Africa and his "family" behind. You come to find him back in Ireland. You know right off the bat why he is there and what his every intention is. What he didn't count on was Shannon. Shannon is the sister of Cassie, his one and only love. Although that love was unrequited, he loved her nonetheless. Shannon is the mob's doctor and resident serial killer. Shannon is also the splitting image of Cassie, and Callum is drawn to her immediately. She is under orders from he boss, Callum's brother Neil, to actively pursue Callum and get him to fall in love with her. Easier said than done. What follows is the most intense, awful, explosive relationship I have ever had the pleasure of reading about. They were completely toxic to each other and everyone around them, but underneath all of their demons they were both just very broken humans who needed some sort of validation and love. The fact that were both psychotic and sociopaths made it completely impossible. I rooted for them until the very end. I wanted them to get their happiness and find their love, but they ruined each other at every turn. I wanted them to redeem themselves, but every other page had me shaking my head and cursing their choices. They broke my heart. This book was so heartbreaking to read, but I am so glad that I did. It was perfect. Highly recommend this book if you love darker reads, but I encourage you to read the first book in the series before diving into this one.

"If you love something kill it. Before it kills you."

Lauri and Rowan's story broke my heart, but Callum and Shannon cracked my soul. This is not your typical boy meets girl type of story. There are no heros, no damsels in distress, there are no characters with any redeemable qualities, and no happy ending. There villains, some slightly less evil than others, and people with greatly askewed moral compasses. However this is a love story, albeit dark and twisty, and one that can be felt down to your core. What happens when a sociopath meets a psychotic? You get Monochrome My Madness.
*SPOILER AHEAD*
I came into this book with a broken and bruised heart, thanks to Colour my Ugly, and foolishly thought this story would provide relief. Oh how wrong was I. Shannon and Callum are both totally crazy. Both made monsters by circumstance, and hence don't seem 100% evil. I found myself even excusing some of their more despicable acts, and began rooting for these two. Just when I thought they could find some type of happiness and a type of piece, I was smacked with a twist I didn't see coming. Even then I was hoping they could work through their problems. But alas I was again delt a cruel hand by the brilliant and twisted Ashleigh Giannoccaro and denied my happily ever after. This was an ending that rivaled,if not surpassed, the heartbreaking ending of the first book in this series. And I absolutely feaking loved it!! I cannot wait to read the last book in this series.

This is a definite dark read! With no hearts, flowers, or happily ever after, their story will twist and turn your thoughts and beliefs.

Calling, a serial killer, and Shannon, Princess Poison, were made for each other. Callie came back home to claim the family business after the death of his father. Shannon was instructed by Neil, Callum's brother, to make Callum fall in love with her so Callum would not leave town.

There were many disturbing twist that made this story. One being the perfect ending to the relationship between Shannon and Callum.

It is a must read for those who love a twist of fate.

OMG OMG OMG... I loved this book. When I read Colour My Ugly I was excited to find out Ashleigh was writing Callum's story. I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book, and was blown away. It has taken me a few days to even form a sentence to write this review. This book is dark, sick, twisted and I loved every word of it. The relationship between Callum and Shannon is so twisted that you are not sure you want to make it or just stop the madness.
Please read the warning before reading this book. If you like dark books you will love this book!
I cant wait to see what else Ashleigh comes up with.

Flipping awesome story.. Killers will always be killers and maybe there is no redemption. Shannon is damaged beyond repair but anyone would be. Callum still has a heart under his monster. This story broke my heart in many ways reminding me of the first one Colour My Ugly. No love lost for the O Reillys. Shocking end but just and well done. Sometimes there is no redemption to be found. There was a bit of hate in my heart for Shannon and I wanted to love her cause she needed it the most, having no one in her life. She was betrayed by those supposed to keep her safe. Anyone would be a monster, if they went through that.

Book 2 in this series I could not wait to get my hands on after finishing book 1: Colour my Ugly and wow what a dark read !!

Callum's past in not a sweet read and in some ways you can understand why he is the man he is today, well almost.

Shannon is a professional and nothing will stop her from catching and making her kill.

Highly recommend read for those who enjoy a truly twisted tale that will screw your mind up and stay deep inside you forever.

Absolutely loved this book. This is book 2 of a 3 series books. I loved the main characters but I loved Callum more. He is dangerous dark devious and damn hot. Shannon is a woman you love to hate. And hate her I did. With passion. The storyline is gripping and had me reading "just one more chapter" before bed.

Crazy for Callum!!

Gah!!!! This book just sang to my little black heart.
I absolutely loved the effed up love story between Callum and Shannon. I use the term Love loosely because I don't think these two are capable of conventional love. Never having experienced the real thing do they ever really stand a chance at a normal relationship.

Callum is the epitome of evil, his sick urges are what fuel him.
His monster simmers under the surface ready to strike. He did love once, well his version of love but it was snatched away leaving him unable to really love again.
Inflicting pain turns him on. He can't help it, it's his sickness.

Shannon isn't much better her life's been far from normal. She deals with things the only way she can. She too has a sickness one that calls to Callums they are a match made in hell.
They will probably end up killing each other but the draw is to strong they can not stay away.

I just loved this story Callum and Shannon will stay with me for a long time. Their journey is a dark and depraved one. But it's an epic tale that sucked me in. I knew they'd be explosive together and Damn I have no words for the effed up shit between them.
But Callum is everything. Even knowing exactly what he is I still love him. I love the crazy psychopaths. They are MY sickness and I'm not sorry in the slightest.

This is a fantastic series full of all the sick and twisted that makes me happy. I love Ashleighs mind her books never fail to captivate me. I wish I'd read this sooner.

"My demons and monsters are born from your worst nightmares. I am what happens when you break a little boy."

Who pays for the sins of the father? Colour My Ugly beautifully wove a story of redemption and hope, Monochrome My Madness gives us a story of the ultimate revenge and penance. Who pays for the sins of the father's...their next generation and the next and the next as the mistakes can never be made right and the cycle never ends. Callum, the son of the orchestrated union between two mob families to create a peace that never materialized has never lived up to his father's expectation. A childhood filled with horror and violence Callum has returned home to Ireland to help keep the family business lucrative after the untimely death of the boss - his dear old dad! The once shunned son, banished to Africa, he now returns to quietly execute the perfect plan. No one suspects the lamb amongst the wolves, why can't they see he has grown sharp claws?

Shannon, the mob doctor and ghost of the only woman Callum has ever remotely loved. Unexpected yet a welcome complication she too has been utterly shattered by the mob life. Her broken pieces have reformed and she has become a whispered enigma, known for her lethal abilities in the bedroom. Yet Callum has returned home and he makes her black fade to a manageable grey...but her need to kill needs to be fed and she is hungry. Can she resist the man that fell in love with her sister or will his demons dance with her monster in a beautifully morbid symphony?

This series just keeps getting darker, more haunting and certainly more devious. Callum, I loved to hate him. He treated Shannon poorly, used her to exorcise his demons and calm his devils yet he falls so hard, so completely in love that it destroys him in the end, destroys the glimmer of the little boy that survived the torment. Shannon, a cold heartless sociopath who feels no remorse only the need to kill and watch the suffering. Trapped by the events of her past, she brings death to soothe the ravaged remnants of her heart. Callum is an unknown he makes her submit, makes her hope for things she can't have and yet together they are a sinister duo that are perfectly wicked. Monochrome My Madness is darkly deviant with a storyline that had me hooked. It was filled with heart stopping moments and ugly truths that exposed them for the batter abused victims they once were. Seeing how the evolved from the prey to the ultimate predator is what makes this story so uniquely brilliant.

A five star read.

Holy Cow, if you love dark madness this is the story for you. It will be so difficult to not use ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT at least a few times in this review. You won’t get the love story, nor will you find happiness in this book. What it will give you is a woman who uses poison as her weapon and a cold dark heart as her motivation. Shannon is the doctor for the mob, she didn’t want this job, but she earned it due to her family connections, sort of a dysfunctional, dark inheritance. Once she settles into the role she finds it useful to feed her need for death and destruction. Neil is the leader to the organization and he finds her very useful when it comes to getting rid of people who stand in his way, namely Callum. He holds dark memories and actions over her head in order to have her conform to his desires. She knows the threat, she knows about the past and she is also fully aware Neil is on her hit list.

Callum is the family member they “threw away”, sending him off to do jobs for the family in a distant location with the intent of keeping him out of their business. He isn’t going to take that much longer and has come back to the city for an event, but he is coming with his mind set on revenge and control. Shannon will fit perfectly into his plans, she is talented in murder, enjoys watching them die, has no remorse or guilt, has access to the family and she hates Neil as much as he does. What he didn’t plan on was developing feelings for her. You can’t call it love in the normal sense, but there is something that makes him think, they might be able to have a dysfunctional future.

As soon as Callum discovers Shannon’s past and what fuels her needs for murder, he is also aware of his obsession with raw, dirty, violent sex. How lucky is he that Shannon can deal with that. Knowing what she is capable of means he has to secure his safety at night until he can be assured that she won’t kill him in his sleep. I warned you this was a dysfunctional relationship, but it all plays to perfection as the story goes on.

I can’t go into details as that would spoil this book for you but the author was brilliant with how she slowly exposed more and more secrets and memories from each of their past. It will break your heart and help you realize that these two might not have been born serial killers; this might be the outcome due to nurturing being replaced with mind control and events. The ending destroyed me, I did not see that coming but I have to say it was the perfect resolution to such a story.

I strongly recommend you read Colour My Ugly first, not only will you know who the characters are going into this one, the last few chapters of the book will have even more meaning to you. I was captivated and had chills down my spine with each page and amazed at what goes on in the mind of this author. There are many dark reads that follow the same game plan when it comes to the plot. This one was unique and I couldn’t predict a single second, giving me the haunted house feel………never knowing what was going to jump out at me during the journey.

I promise if you are looking for something that will take your heart and crush it, leaving you on the edge of your seat and an awesome mind shattering story, then get this book and experience the brilliance of Ashleigh Giannoccaro. She is one of a kind and remarkable when telling her stories.

My Thoughts:

Pure Giannoccaro style. This book is rough, raw, dark and dirty. It looks into the lives of some dark minds and even darker souls, but the real story isn't about the darkness, it's about whether or not two people can save each other from that darkness, or if they are doomed from the start.

From the beginning, this book is gritty, looking at lives that most of us will read about and think how horrible it is, but what we aren't considering is the fact that there are people who have to live these lives. we read along hoping for the best for Shannon and Callum, even if we don't think they deserve the best, sometimes. All the while, I had a dark place in my mind reminding me that these lives could be real, and that thought made this book so much more real than it ever could have been. Giannoccaro wrote each chapter so well. The detail really brought the scenes to life, making you feel as though you were right there with the characters.

I felt their pain. Endured their anger. Lived through the darkness. It was brilliant.

I am a fan of dark romances, as I feel they really bring the world to life. I also like the feeling that even the worst people and situations can be brought back to a place that can have a bit of happiness. This book does that and so much more. We live through the worst times, right there with our main characters. We experience their growing love and their growing fear. Fear that they will not be able to save each other from the monsters they are. Then we watch as they grow into something new, but it is just a new monster, or something beautiful?

Just like Colour My Ugly, this book is filled with detail, excitement, and packed with characters that have great depth and personality. No detail has been left to wonder, as Giannoccaro has made sure that she has given you everything you need to make the Monochrome world come to life.

The pace of the book is brilliant, giving you enough tim dot get the details, come to terms with events and really sink yourself into the emotion and raw passion that is felt. However, she hasn't given us a slow pace! Be prepared to race through the world with the same frenzy that our characters do, when the time comes.

Overall, this is a very dark romance. You have to go in prepared and with an open mind.Yes, there are some bit that may upset and trigger people, so be aware, but it is a brilliantly written, real life experience and I truly enjoyed every moment of it.

I loved this book, I was already excited to see more of Callum but this book was so much more then I expected. It was twisted, dark, raw, messed with my head and kept me hooked from start to finish. I am exited to see what comes next in this series.

Monochrome my Madness is book two in the Colour Series. It can be read as a standalone. It comes with a warning. The warning is "This is a dark, twisted disturbing story. If you are slightly twisted and enjoy the darker side of love this will be right up your alley." Keep that warning in mind before deciding to read this one. Monochrome my Madness is definitely a twisted and dark story.

Monochrome is Callum and Shannon story. These two are crazy twisted. Callum is the son of an Irish mobster. He is kind of the black sheep of the family. Shannon is a doctor for the mob. They are both very captivating characters. Callum finds himself falling for Shannon. Are sociopaths able to love? I'm still not sure about that, I went back and forth about what I thought about that throughout the book. Some of the scenes where hard to read but I couldn't resist reading because I had to find out what would happen.

This one had me hooked right from the beginning and I didn't put it down until I finished. I got sucked into the sick and twisted world of Callum and Shannon and I didn't want it to end. There is no happy ever after here but it's still a great read.

4.5 stars. This is not a heart and flowers romance, it's about a serial killer and a serial poisoner. If you're looking for a sweet love story, this is not for you. However, if like me you like dark and seriously messed up then read on!!
Callum is evil. Completely consumed with the need for revenge, he goes all out after his own family. When he goes back home he meets Shannon, the doctor who "works" for his brother Neil. Shannon isn't what she seems though. She actually exceeds Callum in the evil/crazy stakes. With a habit of poisoning her lovers Neil thinks he can use Shannon to his advantage. Callum has other plans involving Shannon though. Even though she knows Callum is fighting his own demons and he will hurt her, Shannon still doesn't walk away. Callum knows Shannon is going to kill him but finds himself falling for her. It ends up with everyone playing games and the twists start coming. As much as i wanted to hate Shannon, part of me loved her, she's actually quite genius, very sick, twisted and evil but very, very clever.
I really can't stress enough how mentally unstable these two characters are. Now i may be alone in this but i really felt for Callum. Yes he is sick and evil but he does have a heart deep down, unlike Shannon, who feels nothing. This is one of those books were you just know it's not going to end well, you hope and pray it will but deep down the feeling of foreboding doesn't go away. I LOVED the ending. For me it was the perfect way to end Callum and Shannon's story. I can't wait for more from this author.

Well it looks like I read this out of order lol. So I'm guessing it's probably safe to say you can read this as a stand alone but I also have book one of the series so I'll be reading that next <3

Jumping into this book I sure knew there wouldn't be some cutesy hearts and flowers. Nope instead we get two sociopaths who simply love killings and end up loving each other if you can quite call that love. Maybe more addicted to each other vices. Fair warning this book isn't for the faint at heart that wants a hero to save the day.

Have to say I love how Shannon started out all normal until you discovered her dirty secret. Poisoning is quite fitting for her victims. I would say she's probably a tad more crazy/evil than Callum. Almost genius level and I almost felt bad for Callum....almost. Those two really were so screwed up they belonged together.

They both were so broken it was simply un-repairable with how they lived. Mentally unstable doesn't even come close to these two and put them together just wow on the crazy/evil scale.

I was kinda hoping for a different ending but still good with it. From the beginning you knew it wasn't going to end well for either. Highly recommend and I can't wait to read Colour My Ugly.
