This is the third book in this series and I loved them all. After admitting their feelings for each other Anna and Ethan try a long distance relationship but the emotional pull is stronger and Anna decides to make the move to New York to be with Ethan. Both on shaky grounds, Anna skeptical because of her bad luck with past relationships and trust issues and Ethan just because he's never done the "relationship thing" so can they move forward and build on their deep and growing love for each other? This series was a beautifully written story with lovable characters and is one to put on your MUST READ LIST. Narrated by the very talented duo Saskia Maarleveld and Sebastian York.

4 - No ambiguity. No promises. No bullshit. Stars!

Louise Bay has literally taken all the good plot points and character traits from some of my favorite romances and turned them into the Empire State Series.

There wasn’t much new or unusual about the story, (and this review is for all three instalments) but what I liked about Anna and Ethan, was that they were both established adults in their own rights. Anna was as confident as Ethan, and the drama and storyline was solely focused on them rather than secondary characters.

"I have rules…"

One lives in London the other New York, and what starts a one night with no strings whilst Anna is on vacation in the Big Apple, develops into one week of fun, but still with no strings. With Anna’s return to the UK they part amicably and go back to their lives.

But fate has other plans for this couple and the three novellas in this series chart the building of a relationship around a couple that are falling in love with each other, the best thing about it, I think as a reader you see that they are in love before they even realize it themselves.

"Sometimes I forget that I didn’t know you my whole life…"

This series is what I would call easy to read and stress-free, the author hit the pitch between the two of them perfectly, in that both are shy of commitment and as each new twist in the plot plays out one or the other of them steps further out of their comfort zone to embrace the relationship developing between them, it was a bit like a game of leap-frog at points with one of them always being a little bit further along than the other.

"You couldn’t be any more beautiful to me than you are now."

Low angst, high emotion and plenty of sexy times, this is an author who I am glad to have discovered. I may be a little late to the party, but let’s just say my one-click budget was totally blitzed this week in buying the rest of this authors books!

"I’m glad we found each other…"

Would have rated this higher if Ethan hadn't been such a loser.

I was really fed up with him not more of a man and really pursuing Anna the way he wanted. It wasn't enough anymore that we could read his POV and see how much he loved her and wanted to be with her. I needed him to be a man of action and after 3 different occasions where he pussied out I was pretty much over him.

1.at the end of book 1 he really wants to see her again even after she goes back to London but isn't man enough to say anything. I was thinking that in book 2 he would be the one to contact her when he goes to visit his sister in London. Although we know he plans on trying to find her they actually end up seeing each other by chance. Meh. Ok I can get over that.

2. At the end of book 2, he really wants to ask her to move back to NYC with him ...but again he doesn't grow a pair and just ask her. I needed him to be the one to tell her he wants her and can't be without her. I was annoyed that the heroine is the one that decides to throw caution to the wind and quit her job to relocate. It would have been more romantic to me if he had just told her how badly he wanted her near him. Or at least told her that he had been considering moving to London to be with her. It's nice that we get to read these things in his POV, however, I needed him to actually tell the heroine!!

3. Book 3 he wants to propose and he ends up chickening out at the last minute because she says something that makes him think she doesn't want to marry him. In the end when the heroine finds out that he had planned to propose it's her that flies back over to NYC to propose to him. It was so fucking stupid. I just wanted to punch him and tell him to stop being such an emo loser and be a man.

one perfect happy ending story of two people who never wanted complicated things and yet turn it into the most wonderful thing.

I'm literally crying with joy.

there was no past trauma, no family situation nothing..

just two people purely in love.

this is one of the quickest read I've read.

I couldn't stop myself from finishing it in one go and I swear after this series i am craving for more Louise's books.

I would highly recommend it to someone who's looking for a quick series to read which includes lots of sex, love and pretty woman references.

Are the words enough?

There was something about this series that just felt right for me. It could have been that the timing was right. It might have been that each instalment didn't take too long to read. I could take a break between each one for however long I needed or wanted. No stalking of the author was needed. The "cliffy's" didn't make me feel like killing anyone because I was left on the ledge. The reading was at my pace and on my terms. The beauty of coming late to the party and having the series all out when I start.

Now, this next part is a mumble jumble of my thoughts about marriage, weddings and whether or not you need to put a *ring on it* to call it a commitment. I'll section it off if you want to get past my ramblings...because of course, there's a lot of rambling going on in my head. 😉

**********

Not saying this happened in New Year in Manhattan (because I don't want to be a spoiler sport) but there was a conversation about marriage that had me thinking. Is marriage the vows, the ring or the wedding? Is it all of those things? Or, is it none of those things?

Saying your vows is just a bunch of words if you don't believe them or want to live by them. I don't think you need a ring to have a committed relationship. A wedding is just a fancy dress party where two people are wearing the fanciest costumes of them all.

I think marriage and commitment are different for everyone. I think my vows were just words but every I love you since means something to me. I can count on one hand how many times my hubby and I have taken off our wedding bands. For me, I wear it like a badge of honour. I love all the thing it represents. Now, the wedding...I think my mum got more out of it than we did. We were buggered by the end and glad it was over.

Not everyone feels the same and that's ok. A commitment to love someone for the rest of your days can be shown with words, a ring or a wedding. Whatever floats your boat or makes your little heart sing.

**********

I really enjoyed this series. It was HOT! The characters were interesting and their everyday lives busy and far from boring. The love story made my heart flutter and I hoped from the very start that they would get more than what they thought they wanted.

Each instalment was fairly quick to read but easy to spread out over a few days. I'm stoked that I started after they had all been released. If you're looking for a fast-paced and sexy series, I highly recommend.

****book provided to me by author for my honest review***

Another great book by Louise Bay. This is the final book in Ethan and Anna's story. Ethan has to return back to New York to handle his New York clients. Anna is staying in London to work at her job. The minute Ethan leaves on the airplane Anna is regretting not going with him.

I don't want to give anything away in this story but I loved it. It was a great romantic book that has two people who want the same things yet afraid to ask for it. The way Anna and Ethan maneuver their relationship had me smiling at the thought of "true love". I know I know pretty sappy, but it was a refreshing love story to sit down and read.

The Empire State Trilogy is a definite must read for the ones who believe in true love...

So after reading the Fifty Shades Of Grey trilogy I feel that the erotic fiction books, has exploded, they are everywhere to be find, in every form and in every length. I found this in the IBook store and it was cheap, for all 3 books, they didn't really cost anything, so I thought why not.
I didn't expect anything at all because I've never heard of it before, but I find myself really 50-50 about it. I feel like Bay's writing is very basic but she's really not that good at writing kissing and sex scenes, she is good at describing them and get you into it but sometimes I was really confused on how they were positioned or where they were in the apartment and other details like that, basically it sometimes went on a bit too quickly so you lost track and other times it was like some information maybe was missing.
I feel like the book definitely had to much sex in here, I know It's an erotic book, but there were almost nothing else in all of the 3 books, and that get's a little much in the end. I feel like the books needed a bit more ''love'' this is about a girl changing a boy, so I was missing a bit more detail on how he felt about it all, how he was getting used to the feeling of a girlfriend and how he handled it, inside his head, again the sex scenes took over, and the ''love'' could definitely replace some of the sex scenes, because there were just too many.
It was like she was maybe trying a bit too hard on getting the right scenes and the right pictures in the readers head and that's a bit of a shame.
I loved that we get to see both perspectives, I love learning about what the boy is thinking, not just the girl, so that was a really nice touch.
I felt like the ending of the series was good but also not that great, I felt like there were missing something, maybe an Epilogue about what happened after just maybe 20 pages of 10 even, so we get to see how they adapt to the lifestyle, especially Ethan. If you do want to read anything from Bay, start with this series.

The conclusion of the Trilogy could not have ended differently!

Now, that it is finally over, I can tell that I really enjoyed that Ethan-the hot, sexy, alpha, don’t do sleepovers male, fell in love and had no doubt admitting his feelings!
Anna on the other hand, she might doubt herself, but not her feelings for Ethan!
I loved the series, and I had a great time reading it.

Thanks Louise Bay for such a wonderful story!!!

good lord, I love this series so much! Louise Bay is fast becoming one of my favourite authors, she's definitely, firmly in my top 10!
i honestly don't know how to put into words how fabulous this book is. just the most perfect, heart meltingly adorable ending to a modern day love story! While it is cute and gushy and lovey dovey it is also sexy as hell. Best of both worlds.
That is all!

New Year in Manhattan brings us the third and final part to Ethan and Anna’s story.

We’re brought on the journey of Ethan and Anna’s relationship as she travels to stay with Ethan. We get to see how had it is when they’re apart and how easy it is for them to be together but we’re also shown how insecure both characters can be. They’re second guessing a lot and it’s sad to read.

It’s been interesting reading this finale of their relationship.

I am a bit disappointed :( This just not for me, I didn't enjoy. A little bit too much time in the bed and nothing more happening in the story. Not a memorable reading. I am sorry. But also it was cute sometimes.

If I had to sum of the The Empire State Trilogy in one word - it would be "perfection". I have never fallen in love with a series as much as I did with this one. Anna and Ethan had me falling in love with them from page one. Louise Bay has a huge fan in me. I stalked everyday to see when the next installment was coming out.

New Year In Manhattan is the final installment ( I really don't want this to be it. Please Louise, I need more!!). Ethan and Anna need to make a decision and figure out where they want to be so that they can finally be tougher on the same continent. Will it be London or New York?

Anna is dealing with her past and her ex. She is wondering if she wants to move to New York and be with Ethan. What is really keeping her in London? While Anna is weighing her options, Ethan is thinking of giving up everything and moving to London. He knows he can start a new practice there. All that seems to matter to him is being with Anna and not making any mistakes. Ethan has never really had a real relationship, and he doesn't want to mess up the best thing that has ever happened to him. The couple needs to get their act together and both get on the same page before it is too late!

To say that this was a realistic and perfect ending for Ethan and Anna, complete understatement. I loved every second of this installment. I cried tears of joy at then ending.

Please Louise Bay... more Ethan and Anna!!!

In this final part of Ethan and Anna's story we get lots more smut, some full on romance and some lively banter as Anna returns to New York to spend New Year with Ethan.

It was a sweet and enjoyable read, but it was essentially an extended epilogue to the second part. I was hoping for the annoying Lucy to get her comeuppance or for something to happen with someone from their past, or even an explanation as to why Ethan used to be such a chronic commitment phobe, but, nope, nothing. It didn't actually have an epilogue either.

The writing and the chemistry is excellent, but just like the second book, this would've really benefited from some more tension or conflict - anything to build anticipation a little and get my heart racing.

This is an easy to read, zero angst series with plenty of hot smut and great chemistry so if that's what you're looking for, this may just suit. But I can't help but think how great it could've been with a little conflict to stir things up.

Book-Challenge 2020: Book 22.3

I can't even ... what the ... ARE YOU SERIOUS?!

I'm done. So done. This is ... so done!

This only gets two stars, because I promised myself one stars only for stories I actually dfn (which rarely happens). Which I should have done in the first part, but silly me.

I'm not even going into detail, because I don't want to waste any more time on Ethan and Anna's story.

This trilogy was such a waste of time, I can't even ... so done!

Nevertheless I'm not giving up on Louisa Bay, I enjoyed "Mr. Mayfair" too much, so I know she can write good stories after all. But hands off from this.

Ahhh!! Finally we get the conclusion of Ethan and Anna and it was PERFECT!! I absolutely loved the first two of this Empire State series and was so excited to get my hands on this one!

We pick up right where book two left off; Ethan returns to New York while Anna stays in London. The distance is super hard for both of them, though they both have a hard time expressing it. Once they finally open their lines of communication, happiness ensues.

And don’t forget the hotness!

“I want you to reach between your legs. Stroke that perfect pu--y of yours and tell me how wet you are.”

Phone sex never sounded so good. The chemistry between them was sizzling and when they were together, it was off the charts.

“Are you ready to be f--ked so hard, beautiful?”

Ethan’s dirty mouth is ahh-mazing!

This story was sexy, funny, and romantic! I couldn’t put it down and finished it in a matter of hours! ~ Tiffany, 4.5 stars

~~~
At last we have the conclusion to the Empire Series! The story picks up right where Autumn in London left off with Ethan boarding the plane heading back to the States.
Anna and Ethan are trying to make a long distance relationship work. Neither one has a clue how to make a relationship work, never mind a long distance one! Anna needs to decide what risks she’s willing to take for love and Ethan just needs to figure out how to be in a relationship. Again, they have their communication problems—neither one knows WHAT the other is thinking in regards to their future.
I love this couple together. Once they figure out what they want and where they want to be, we have a satisfying happily ever after, but, oh, man, the journey taken to get there is pathetically comical!
I LOVED this book right up until the end. The ending just didn’t seem right to me—Ethan didn’t act like I would have expected Ethan to act, and neither did Anna. This bothered me—still bothers me. I’m hoping Louise Bay writes a short story to expand upon the ending; that would make me happy. ~ Missy, 4 stars
Wow... This last book in this series was good. I just loved Ethan. I love how consistent he is. I loved how he changed for Anna. I just loved how he expressed himself to her.
I just loved him! Ethan believed in them right from the start.
But... Anna...oh Anna...lol
Anna really knows how to frustrate me. She really is a negative person. And only thinks of herself. Her feelings about marriage and the way she just couldn't let her self go with Ethan was extremely frustrating. She was constantly second-guessing herself. Thinking way to much and out loud too. She really was only thinking of herself.
I had a love hate relationship with her. She certainly seemed to always put her foot in her mouth. She did not know when to shut up. I thought by the third book she would have let up a bit.
I was really starting to get worried about how things were going to be played out with them.
I for sure thought that Anna really did it this time. Pushing Ethan away. My heart just went our for poor Ethan!
But I must say... Towards the end of the book... Anna really stepped it up and fixed everything!
The ending was cute. I wish we had a little epilogue... I would have loved to see how their life turned out together.
Other than Anna getting to me in this book. I have to say there was one other thing that bothered me. And it was how Ethan talked. He talked like he was British.
The way he phrased some of his sentences no American would talk like that. Or use certain words the way Ethan did.
But... Other than that...I absolutely love this book I love this series and I would recommend this series to everybody.
