After-read thoughts:
As said, Glassford girl is a novel, focusing on a favourite subject of mine, time travel - and doing so in a very refreshing manner. This mode of time travel - indeed, time jumping is not as often used as one may think it to be, given all the story opportunities so as a reader I warmly welcomed Emily's ability. The how and the why of the time jumping were not fully explained in this book, but what was given away really spiked my interest

Part One in the Emily Heart Time Jumper Series

I finished this book in one sitting because I could not put the book down. From the first sentence, I was intrigued and hooked by the introduction to a time traveling teenage girl. Emily Heart is an amazing character that can jump through time. The jump can only be made in times during her lifetime. Which makes for an interesting plot on the time periods travelled to.

She is adventurous and exciting, jumping over the course of 30 years. What's great

Loved this story...Really had me going! Great twists and turns.
Ok, so it didn't finish with all the the details all wrapped up in a pretty bow. Not something that I generally like that much. This time, I liked the story so much, I just want to read about the next adventure. I almost passed this story over. Well, actually I did pass over it several times, but I like some of the other things the author wrote so I finally said to myself, "Okay, not sure I'm going to like reading about a fairly

A good time jumper story.

Not something I typically read but well worth the time. I recommend reading this book. I liked it enough to purchase book two in the series

3 stars. Started out OK but just got more improbable the more it lasted. Likely won't read sequels.

Good book

This was a good book with an interesting plot. It also has a minor cliffhanger. It lost one star for the cliffhanger.

I thought this was good, not as polished as some but I enjoyed the story and would read other books by the same author.

Interesting Storyline

I really enjoy the premise of this book, though it is slow to develop. The main character is slow to learn to control her power and abilities, which she to bring a great deal of hardship, and little benefit. I'm left wanting to know how the story ends, but not in a big hurry to find out.

The Short:
I don't have much to say about this book. It was good, not great, but worth reading. It was a very action packed read, and something that I would recommend if you just want a quick exciting read. This was not at all something special, but thats okay because I was captivated from the first page.

The Good:
It started well, and it kept that momentum going throughout the whole book. It was fast and action-packed, and a VERY easy read (not only because it was less than 200 pages). I am

What a thrill ride!

This book ends in a cliff hanger so I'll make it a short review. Gotta get the next installment now. Emily is a typical and bright thirteen year old whose life changes suddenly on the way to midnight mass for Easter 1985.
But, the story starts many years later after she's time traveled to 2013. Her story unfolds she helps a homeless twelve year old only she is fifteen when she does this. Two years of her life have elapsed in the twenty-nine years since her journey began.

Emily Heart is fifteen. Emily Heart is a jumper.
Jay creates a wonderful visual of Emily's jumps. Before the jump there is the feeling and countdown. After the jump there is the feeling of being pressed and cooked from the inside out- leaving her with a dry mouth, pain, AND possibly worst of all- naked.
For Emily she'd been jumping for two years. For the rest of us thirty years had gone by. The jumps were beginning to cover shorter distances of time. Emily hoped this meant they were beginning to

I loved this story and once I started reading it was hard to put it down. Emily Heart is a teenager who lives on the streets but she wasn't always like this. She was a regular girl who lived with her mother and attended high school. One night on the way to Midnight Mass, her and her mother are taken and tortured and experimented on. This causes her mother to disappear and Emily is left alone with her captors. She manages to escape but is forever changed. Whatever they did to her causes her body ...more

2.5 stars ... per the title, this book was really jumpy! It starts off in full action, outrunning a bullet and introducing characters, and it was a little hard for me to follow at first, just so much information. I've not been involved in a gang drug war, but it all just seemed over the top. Add in the insta-attraction (right in the middle of the shooting/running no less) and it was eye-rolling. Then all the "jumping" began - all over the place/time. Then aliens. Then another gang war ... oh my. ...more

Compelling Story, but Strong Language I paid for this book and so was a bit more invested in reading all of it. If I'd grabbed it for free I would have stopped reading around page two because of the strong language. Although I understand the gang members really would use this kind of language, I don't care to read it.

However, as I said, I paid money for it and kept reading. Other than the language, the story is compelling and well written. Emily is a strong character. She's learned to survive in

Emily Heart has a problem—a big problem. While she’d like to live a normal life, she has the ability to see things for brief periods through other peoples’ eyes. Moreover, when she becomes excited, she jumps through time, arriving at random places in the future, naked and alone.
Emily is now several years into her future, hunted by a reporter who wants to reveal her secret, wanted by the cops who want to question the strange naked girl who keeps showing up at crime scenes and then disappearing,

I really liked this book, it was a really fun read. It's definitely not Grand Master good, but would be great to get you out of the Awful Book Blues - plus 1/2 star.

I'm not sure if there were any grammer or spelling problems, but my error detecting radar did not light up once. The same for grammer. Actually, this Indie book read like it had been professionally edited.

Time travel is an old favorite, and this "Time Jumping" of an individual based on humans natural "fight or flight" responce was a

Jay Falconer has written a book that lives up to the publishers blurb - and for me to expand upon it would be plot killing.

What I can say is that the protaganist is an extremely capable teenage lady that has a small problem with traveling in time uncontrollably.

I mean this with the utmost respect - in this series Jay Falconers writing reminds me of Science Fiction from the 60's. The young protaganist is thrown into an uncontrolled situation and you get to learn the why's and wherefores while

I stumbled upon this title on Amazon and was intrigued by the premise.
Unfortunately, I really struggled to identify with Emily. To me, she did not read like a teenager and I felt no emotional connection to her, partly because Emily's reactions to her environment appear purely rational, and even as physical reactions show that she is stressed out, I did not get a feeling that she actually was. I would also have liked to see a bit more of a reaction to the traumatic events in the past, but,

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I wanted to like this book SO much more than I did. It was a quick (2.5ish hours) read. The writing is very straightforward and a tad bland in areas. The world building was not outstanding though the character development showed much more promise. I LOVE Time Travel books!!! They are like candy to me but this one wasn't an intricate lattice of tantalizing Scientific jargon, no rich chocolaty goodness of experiencing/tampering

Time Jumper

This book is absolutely amazing. I read it in one sitting. Time travel is not a new concept neither is time jumping. What is different about this book is the way the author uses these concepts. The book has all you would expect in a sci-fi, with some twists and turns along the way. Emily Heart is a teenage girl with a difference she has special abilities that enable her to jump through time; she can only jump within lifetime, and only when certain events are set in motion.

The book

Wonderful time travel story.
In 1985 Emily Heart is 15 years old. While out walking with her Mum one night, her life changes.
Now she can time travel. Sometimes she wakes up one day later, sometimes years later. But always in Phoenix and always naked.
Spending her days and nights on the streets, Emily tries to keep out of trouble, herself calm and control her body from time jumping. But she can feel the changes that are causing more frequent jumps and with more pain.
It is now 2013 and Emily

OK, here's the plan: Get some snacks, something to drink and settle in to a comfortable reading space. Then prepare yourself for an adventure. A young woman, completely alone except for the gangs trying to kill her, will captivate your attention. Through a mysterious occurrence Emily is able to time travel (jump). At the beginning she never knows when it will occur and where she will land. As time goes by she begins to sense a jump coming and prepare herself. The story is well thought out and ...more

I am not a paranormal action type of girl. This book took me on an adventure that was well out of this world. I would say if you are interested in paranormal action this is a must read if you are not into paranormal action don't read this book. I also think it needed more action to the book.

It's a must read for those who like paranormal action. I on the other hand am not a big fan of the paranormal. I do have to say this was an interesting adventure again could not put the book down only because

Ran across this booklet today and thought I'd give it a try. I found it was a quick entertaining read. If you have an hour to spare, I recommend you read this. I rarely read short stories because you seldom feel like you know the characters but the author here has done an excellent job of bringing Emily to life. She has had a rough time and it seems things are on the verge of getting better when catastrophe strikes again. There are many threads to untangle in future episodes so keep on writing. ...more

I Don't usually like many Time travel books, but it'd not the same kinda time travel book I am used to seeing. It reminds me more of the old classic time jumper Robert A Heinlein but defiantly isn't his writing style don't get me wrong. Just comparing of saying he's a good writer like an old classic if you like the classics. It's a good young adult 13 years or older to read it. Witty, science fiction fantasy, alien experimentation, adventure. Was a very awesome read, can't wait for he next book! ...more
