I read most of this in one sitting. This was different than I was expecting, and in a good way. I couldn't put it down because I couldn't figure out exactly how all the pieces/characters fit together. It was cute and fun, and I really liked Chuck, but he is more mature than men twice his 14 years of age. I just kept thinking how much easier high school would have been if people talked to each other the way Chuck and his friends did. I'm eagerly anticipating the next book!

Philip Carroll Does it again. In Shooting Stars he takes a genre that I don't normally like or even read, and made me really enjoy this story. And now on with the review.

Being a teenager is hard, really hard. Add to that, moving to a new school, and joining a sports team. Jocks and Cliques that you don't have a chance of understanding unless you have lived in a place all your life. And don't get me started on the girls. Chuck has all of these problems and more when he moves to his new school fro

SHOOTING STARS is a fast and intriguing read. Told from the point of view of teenager Chuck and his experiences at a new high school, he quickly realizes that things are not normal. Chuck joins the track team and tries to make friends with different people at school, but he's ostracized. When Kelsey asks him to the school dance, he finds out that everyone at school thinks she's bizarre. But Chuck is drawn to her for reasons he can't explain, and when he discovers who she really is, he's drawn in ...more

I thought this would be a humorous take on the Twighlight paranormal romance genre. It wasn't. It was ridiculous--and there is nothing I would like read about less than 14-yr-olds making out and then declaring their undying love after only 5 days. There was a fair amount of inconsistency in the last quarter of the book--the story seemed to jump around a lot towards the end.

Pretty good

This book was pretty good, though there were a few flaws. It needs some editing. The first part of the book was a tad boring. It took a while for it to pick up storyline wise. The action is towards the end of the book. I’m considering reading the next book to see where this story goes. Some say it’s better. We’ll see. I need some questions answered.

Great story

Loved it. The characters were likeable and interesting. There was plenty of suspense. Clean enough for anyone. I'm looking forward to reading more
