OK, it's silly.
OK, it's soft-erotica. (very soft)
But after all, the main character is named Gabriel Edge ... how many books have that?
The fun part was seeing how the traditional romance structure was integrated in an interesting terrorist plot. Adding in the paranormal aspects (wizards, especially when I'm rereading the Dresden Files) also boosted the end result. Sure, the world building was a little too minimal for my taste (why did the wizards have certain abilities and not others? How do they get them? Where is magic and where does it come from?), but then the purpose of this book was not to create a real world with magic and wizards and mind reading. It was to discuss the issues of being with someone you loved and not being able to love them.
So, for you romance fans out there, this is actually an interesting book. Surprisingly so. For you non-romance fans, probably best to stay away unless you want to try out the genre. I can't think of better books to introduce the genre, but that's because this is maybe the second I've read.

Bad, just really, really bad. The only redeeming quality is the scorching hot love scenes. The plot is interesting, but the narrative for the first half was repetitive and disjointed. The second half was better, but not good enough to save the book as a whole.

Together, they must recreate the robot, vanquish an evil wizard and overcome an ancient curse. Piece of cake, right?

However I had read some of Cherry Adair's books before, I never once thought this one would be so entertaining. It was a nice paranormal & fantasy romance story.

Dr. Eden Cahill is making tremendous strides in artificial intelligence when the robot she has nearly finished is stolen by a terrorist group. Before her mentor, who is mortally wounded during the attack, dies, he tells her to destroy everything and DO NOT TRUST anybody. She has kept the true capabilities to herself a secret. T-FLAC, a secret government agency in anti-terrorism, sends Gabriel Edge, a member of the psy division and a well renown wizard, to get into Eden's brain in order to abstract the plans so they can build a new robot to destroy the previous one.
There's only one huge problem. The Edge Family Curse. When an Edge finds his true lifemate, he must choose duty over love otherwise his mate will die. Edge grew up with his parents living apart, only seeing each other on occasion to try and keep Gabriel's mother alive. Gabriel is the oldest of three brothers, each with their own special abilities given to Edge men from the curse placed on the family by a witch 500 years ago. No one has ever been able to figure out how to break it.
Gabriel knows he is extremely attracted to Eden, yet he has a job to do and with the walls that Eden has erected in her intelligent mind, the best way to get the information is that moment during orgasm when her walls will be own. He know instinctively that should he hold her in his arms, he will never want to let her go and he does everything he can to do his job yet keep distance from her.
Finally, he "kidnaps" her and teleports her to his Highland Castle.... located in... Montana... There they have to work out their trust issues, the fact that he is indeed a wizard, and that another wizard of great power is trying to kill Eden to keep from another robot being built.
This is my first Adair book. Apparently there are other books written regarding T-FLAC. I admit, I'm more of a historical romance kind of girl, but I wanted to try something different. This book didn't really work for me. First of all, even before Gabriel had his first face to face conversation with Eden, he had determined that the only way to get the info was through sex. The whole book was about getting the job done. There was little time for romance and the only way to push the story forward was through the intense chemistry between Gabriel and Eden. It bored me a quarter of the way through the book. However, I hate not finishing a book, and Ms. Adair did give enough information for me to want to find out exactly how the curse would be concluded. I found the remedy to be slightly anti-climatic for me. At this point I'm not sure if I will read the other brothers stories or not.... we'll just have to wait and see.....

First off, let me be honest and say I HATE reading books with magic. And wizards. I really do. Both are as confusing as trying to decipher the meaning of a song by ELO. I wanted to try this author and decided to buy the Edge trilogy when I found it at the store. No research, just found the 3 connected books and bought them on a whim. To my utter dismay, the first freaking book contained both magic and wizardry. Fantastic. Which means the other two do, too. All sarcasm aside, it actually turned out to be not such a bad move.
Dr. Eden Cahill is a brilliant scientist who works for a research company called Verdine Industries. Her pet project was stolen, and her mentor was killed during the theft. The item taken was a robot that is industructable and capable of many things - good things in the hands of the right people, devastating things in the hands of the wrong people. She is surrounded by security because her boss thinks the people will come for her next. Enter Gabriel Edge. He works for the T-FLAC organization, and needs to find this robot quickly. He knows the only way to destroy the robot is by creating a second one so that it will "kill" the first one. In order to make a second robot, he needs to get the information from Eden's brain. All documentation and computer files were destroyed, and Eden has everything needed to rebuild in her photographic mind. (Convenient, eh? Especially for someone like Gabriel who works in the psi division.)
Gabriel is another matter altogether. He cannot fall in love because of a 500 year old curse. Naturally, he does. I thought the curse would be kind of dumb, but it actually added a bit of an exciting, forbidden element to what could have otherwise been a typical, ho-hum romance thread. It also contained a literal version of (excuse my language), "mind-fucking". Can the curse be broken? Maybe, maybe not.
This is part of a trilogy called the Edge Brothers. They are a subset of a larger series called T-FLAC, which I believe currently has 17 books in it. This trilogy makes up numbers 8-10 in the series. I will read the rest of the trilogy and then start at the beginning. A little backwards reading never hurt anyone.
I still won't add wizards and magic as things I will look for in future books. I will accept it if I happen to blindly pick out a book that contains it, much like what happened with this one. (I still won't do vampire books, though. I have a deep rooted annoyance with current vampire books, where the vamps are no longer portrayed as scary, but are now "sexy", and "rippling with male muscle". Ughhh.)

I didn't care for this book as much as the previous in the T-FLAC series. It felt like the author rushed getting this book "out" and it wasn't edited or well thought out. There was a lot of reiteration of information (my pet peeve). A lot of speculating the 3 W's: who, when, where. Meetings and in-depth discussions that went nowhere.
If it doesn't contribute to the story, it shouldn't be there.
The whole Curse Theme has been done to death. Right off the top of my head I can think of Kresley Cole (MacCarrick Brothers) and Ronda Thompson (Wild Wolfs of London) with the dreaded 3 curse theme--EACH.
The characters were o'kay. Didn't care for the way Gabriel avoided--attempted to avoid--thought about avoiding--Eden throughout most of the book, either.
I'm continuing on and hope the next one is better.

This was a great book! I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it. It's book #8 in Cherry Adair's T-FLAC series & the 1st book in the Edge trilogy. I thoroughly enjoyed the T-FLAC series so far, & her introduction of the "psi" branch of T-FLAC (it contains wizards with paranormal abilities) is such a cool addition to the already rockin series. This book has all the action of the usual T-FLAC books plus an ultra hot wizard(Gabriel Edge) who just can't keep his hands off of his woman(Dr Eden Cahill). Of course there's a 500yr old curse that if they remain together she dies that can't be broken & throw in a superpowerful evil wizard into the mix & you have a fast paced, action packed book with ultra hot sex scenes. Cherry Adair's did not disappoint with this book! I've already started on the next book, Edge of Fear.

Switching from contemporary romance to paranormal romance within the same series was odd to me. However the author makes it worth the read with an excellent pair of lovers.

**MINOR SPOILERS**
This book is the first book of Edge Family trilogy which is a subseries of the author’s TFLAC books. TFLAC is a privately funded counterterrorist organization. The Edge brothers work for the psychic phenomena group within TFLAC. The book can be read as a standalone. The male main characters in the other books in the trilogy are the brothers of the main character in this one. I believe the three books happen concurrently with the last book having a joint ending.
Gabriel has various superpowers: he can turn invisible, transmogrify, teleport, read most people’s minds and he is telekinetic, (he is also tall, dark, and handsome just in case the rest wasn’t enough). At the beginning of the book, he Is supposed to read Eden’s mind as part of a counterterrorism mission. He is unable to do so but it is possible that if she has an orgasm, her natural defenses would lower and he would be able to read her mind. It was a manufactured problem for the sake of the story. It also seemed to be a bit unfair for him to have all the power on his side.
I admired Eden’s ability to withstand his efforts and I rooted against him and his careless disregard for people over whom he can wield his powers. Eden was strong and resourceful. Gabriel blows hot and cold during the story and she calls him on it. When he runs cold, he was hurtful. Despite his manner at times, Eden is open and trusting of him. She is the first in the story to say she loves him and that trusts him which is a big leap given how they first meet.
Gabriel becomes impatient that he cannot read Eden’s mind and he wonders why won’t she simply give in to his seduction. He touches her without permission with his telekinetic powers and I agree with other reviewers that this could be seen as rape. A stumbling block for him is that he suspects that she is his lifemate and feels almost uncontrollable lust towards her. Possibly for the same reason, she feels the same about him. His family has a curse which could result in her death and he is hesitant to get close to her. Eventually he admits some of this to Eden and I gave him points for that. However, she is disbelieving about his skills but it is a negative thing to admit – I was trying to read your mind by seducing/touching you unknowingly to get the secrets you were not willingly telling me.
Eden is an off the charts genius and has developed a robot that has artificial Intelligence with amazing capabilities. The prototype was stolen and Gabriel is trying to find out more about the robot for his mission. He asks for the information but Eden refuses to give it because she has not heard of his organization. In addition, there are features to the robot that Eden added that people were not aware of and she does not want to admit it. She did this because she was intrigued by the possibility of doing so. I think this was short sighted of her as eventually the robot would have been released to the contractor and she did not seem to think that far ahead about what would happen then. The story line about the robot was left with a dangling thread.
The point of view switches between Gabriel and Eden. It was easy to tell when the POV changes.
I read the book more than 15 years after it was published.
I do not recommend this book.

T-FLAC has a special psi – psychic (i.e. wizard) group (unknown until this book)… and the Edge brothers, Gabriel, Duncan and Caleb are in T-Flac… and this story is about Gabriel… the Edge brothers live under a 500 year old curse… 500 years earlier, Lord Edgeton was engaged to a nobleman, but dallying with the village witch… he gave the witch a ring, bracelet, and necklace set – but when he married the noblewoman, choosing duty over love, the witch returned the jewelry and cursed him and his descendants… each generation would have 3 sons, who would have her powers (i.e. be wizards), all would love, but their love was destined to die… and the curse could only be broken by an item freely given, and the three working as one (further complicated by the fact that when the brothers are together, their powers are diminished… no generation avoided the curse – the wives dying young… their parents, in trying to avoid the curse, lived apart (one in Scotland, one in Montana) for the year – only being together for 1 week… after 18 years, they stayed together 3 months, and the wife died in her sleep… and when apart, they were so lonely and depressed they neglected their growing sons…
Dr. Eden Cahill – brilliant scientist, photographic memory, gorgeous (loves expensive shoes), more comfortable in her lab than anywhere else… for the last 7 years she has been working with her mentor and an assistant on an uber-rescue-robot – looking like a 5 year old child, able to survive any conditions (fire, explosives, biohazards), and with the ability to rationalize / think independently . Unfortunately, the robot is stolen… unfortunately, in the wrong hands the robot can do harm… Unfortunately her mentor is killed – but before he dies he warns her to erase all information about the robot and to not trust anyone… She does not tell her boss (Jason – a rich man who has been courting her) nor the agencies that question her that the robot is more dangerous than imagined, and that her photographic memory would allow her to make another robot….
Gabriel is assigned to use his power to extract the information on how to construct the robot – they know the prototype is dangerous, and cannot find it, and need a uber Robert to stop the other uber robot… when Gabriel goes to Eden (he’s invisible of course), he recognizes her as his life mate, and is extremely attracted to her – but keeping with the pact made with his brothers, he will be disciplined and not succumb to the attraction… but unfortunately, he cannot get past her mind blocks to extract the information on how to construct said robot… so he decides to go to her at night, invade her dreams, bring her to sexual climax and when her mind is relaxed, extract the information… she awakens when he enters her room, though he helps her believe she is still dreaming… and although she is reacting to his mind making love to her, she will not allow it to go to climax – I was uncomfortable with this part, as this was just simply rape to me…
The next day, invisible, he goes into her lab, tries to ‘seduce’ her mind again, and fails… so he materializes and places his arm around her and teleports her to his home… in Montana – where he grew up with his mother, but had transported the Scotland castle to Montana… with his kindly, gentle butler MacBain (who has served his father before him). Until the end he fights his attraction and thus his love for her – though when in anger she ‘attacks’ him, and touches him for the first time – he can’t resist her lure – they make love all afternoon – but then he goes back withdrawing from her…
She agrees to help him if he can prove he works for a good agency… so he is flying in an FBI agent who had questioned her numerous times over the last weeks… When he gets there, Gabriel doesn’t like him, but doesn’t know why and she asks to see him alone so that he would not be influenced… and she confesses the true potential of the robot in the wrong hands, and that TFLAC wants her to construct a robot to stop her robot… and then the FBI agent, unaware of TFLAC and surprised she could do this, tries to kill her – chocking her and teleporting her – but Gabriel gets in just in a nick of time to stop him….
He doubles the security measures… he calls for a wizard summit – 3 wizards have been killed in the last month, and wizard’s powers pass to the one who kills him… now knowing their deaths are tied to the robot… they have sex (he is reluctant – but can’t stop once she touches him)… she allows him to extract the information … she sleeps, he goes to the lab… she awakens to him – but it isn’t him – she recognizes Jason’s smell & words… she pretends it is, kisses him and as he relaxes she bites his tongue and knees him in the groin – she calls for Gabriel’s help… she takes the sword off of the wall, and as she is about to cut him, he teleports out – and then Gabriel can enter…
She fine tunes the robot he has constructed from her mind… then on the news they see that a child is abandoned at Yosemite’s geysers –she recognizes her robot – and sees that it is carrying a backpack… they deduce that the backpack has a chemical agent to poison the water supply on the west coast (tied to the underground geyser system)… and then 200 people are dead… the wizards try to stop it; but they can’t get to it… they teleport their robot – the robot isn’t much more effective – but Gabriel can focus his power through the robot’s eyes to destroy the backpack & its chemicals and then he sends the robots to lala land… and then they set up for the bad wizard, Jason’s visit… she refuses to leave – Gabriel places her in a painting… she gives him the lucky ring her grandmother gave her… she can telepathically communicate with him and sends him encouraging messages… Jason comes disguised as his brother – uses a little mind control that have him second guessing his sword ability… but he is determined… Jason puts out an image of Eden bloody and tied up – Gabriel knows it is not her and ignores it… she sends him a message to put her ring on his little finger…he does, and his power is enhanced – he can see better, move faster, etc… he kills Jason, cutting off his head, absorbing his powers… and he is aware that there is another, more powerful wizard, boss to create future problems…

Dr. Eden Cahill – brilliant scientist, photographic memory, gorgeous (loves expensive shoes), more comfortable in her lab than anywhere else… for the last 7 years she has been working with her mentor and an assistant on an uber-rescue-robot – looking like a 5 year old child, able to survive any conditions (fire, explosives, biohazards), and with the ability to rationalize / think independently . Unfortunately, the robot is stolen… unfortunately, in the wrong hands the robot can do harm… Unfortunately her mentor is killed – but before he dies he warns her to erase all information about the robot and to not trust anyone… She does not tell her boss (Jason – a rich man who has been courting her) nor the agencies that question her that the robot is more dangerous than imagined, and that her photographic memory would allow her to make another robot….
Gabriel is assigned to use his power to extract the information on how to construct the robot – they know the prototype is dangerous, and cannot find it, and need a uber Robert to stop the other uber robot… when Gabriel goes to Eden (he’s invisible of course), he recognizes her as his life mate, and is extremely attracted to her – but keeping with the pact made with his brothers, he will be disciplined and not succumb to the attraction… but unfortunately, he cannot get past her mind blocks to extract the information on how to construct said robot… so he decides to go to her at night, invade her dreams, bring her to sexual climax and when her mind is relaxed, extract the information… she awakens when he enters her room, though he helps her believe she is still dreaming… and although she is reacting to his mind making love to her, she will not allow it to go to climax – I was uncomfortable with this part, as this was just simply rape to me…
The next day, invisible, he goes into her lab, tries to ‘seduce’ her mind again, and fails… so he materializes and places his arm around her and teleports her to his home… in Montana – where he grew up with his mother, but had transported the Scotland castle to Montana… with his kindly, gentle butler MacBain (who has served his father before him). Until the end he fights his attraction and thus his love for her – though when in anger she ‘attacks’ him, and touches him for the first time – he can’t resist her lure – they make love all afternoon – but then he goes back withdrawing from her…
She agrees to help him if he can prove he works for a good agency… so he is flying in an FBI agent who had questioned her numerous times over the last weeks… When he gets there, Gabriel doesn’t like him, but doesn’t know why and she asks to see him alone so that he would not be influenced… and she confesses the true potential of the robot in the wrong hands, and that TFLAC wants her to construct a robot to stop her robot… and then the FBI agent, unaware of TFLAC and surprised she could do this, tries to kill her – chocking her and teleporting her – but Gabriel gets in just in a nick of time to stop him….
He doubles the security measures… he calls for a wizard summit – 3 wizards have been killed in the last month, and wizard’s powers pass to the one who kills him… now knowing their deaths are tied to the robot… they have sex (he is reluctant – but can’t stop once she touches him)… she allows him to extract the information … she sleeps, he goes to the lab… she awakens to him – but it isn’t him – she recognizes Jason’s smell & words… she pretends it is, kisses him and as he relaxes she bites his tongue and knees him in the groin – she calls for Gabriel’s help… she takes the sword off of the wall, and as she is about to cut him, he teleports out – and then Gabriel can enter…
She fine tunes the robot he has constructed from her mind… then on the news they see that a child is abandoned at Yosemite’s geysers –she recognizes her robot – and sees that it is carrying a backpack… they deduce that the backpack has a chemical agent to poison the water supply on the west coast (tied to the underground geyser system)… and then 200 people are dead… the wizards try to stop it; but they can’t get to it… they teleport their robot – the robot isn’t much more effective – but Gabriel can focus his power through the robot’s eyes to destroy the backpack & its chemicals and then he sends the robots to lala land… and then they set up for the bad wizard, Jason’s visit… she refuses to leave – Gabriel places her in a painting… she gives him the lucky ring her grandmother gave her… she can telepathically communicate with him and sends him encouraging messages… Jason comes disguised as his brother – uses a little mind control that have him second guessing his sword ability… but he is determined… Jason puts out an image of Eden bloody and tied up – Gabriel knows it is not her and ignores it… she sends him a message to put her ring on his little finger…he does, and his power is enhanced – he can see better, move faster, etc… he kills Jason, cutting off his head, absorbing his powers… and he is aware that there is another, more powerful wizard, boss to create future problems…

I really enjoyed this book. I mean, really liked it more than I thought I would. Very quickly, I wanted to know more and where this plot was going. I think, the relationship between Eden and Gabriel was an interesting one and I wanted to know more about where it was going. But that didn't detract from the task at hand and what Gabriel wanted to achieve.
Although we only meet the other T-Flac colleagues briefly, it was interesting to read about their abilities and skills. This is the first in the series I have read and have the next two. I hope they are as good and if they are I would like to go back and read from book one.

This story is exactly what i expected given the cover of the book and the synopsis on the back. The ending wrapped up a little too neatly for me. I thought it would be possible to have a happy ending while still leaving some loose ends since it is a trilogy. But the loose ends are left for the brothers in the next stories.
There is some fun, impossible sex. Fans of paranormal romance will like this book.

This exciting book is the first of the T-FLAC/Psi trilogy. Cherry Adair's first foray into paranormal, to my knowledge, and I loved every second! It still has all of the action, adventure, and excitement from the rest of her T-FLAC series, but now she kicks it up a notch with some paranormal activity. ...and of course, she brings the heat!
I have loved all of her books as I love to live on the edge of my seat. Do yourself a favor and give them all a go!

His family is cursed so he keeps woman at a distance, however to save the world he has to get close to Eden. Eden is a brilliant scientist, has to wrap her head about terrorists having her robot and that wizards exist. It's fantasy, spy romance. Was okay read, didn't really take me away and make me want to believe.

Hot exciting read
This is my first experience with Cherry Adair. I loved the fast pace and the elements of magic. Gabriel was a great complement to Eden Cahill. Eden was a blast. She was sarcastic and at times the comic relief. The love scenes burned right off the page.

Just when you thought the T-FLAC Series couldn't get anymore ridiculous, Cherry Adair decided to add...wizards...because why not? There's apparently a paranormal unit for the T-FLAC group, and it's made up of these wizard people (but they're not from the moon, so it's not at good). As stupid as this sounds (and yes, it is indeed stupid), I had A BLAST reading this book. I put it as five stars. I don't care if it's utterly ridiculous or weird or whatever. This is the first T-FLAC book that I was actually thoroughly entertained throughout the whole book, and I am looking forward to the next one in the series. If you've read any of my previous reviews for this series, you'll note that I've been trudging through it because...I actually don't know. I just keep reading them, hoping that they'll get better. Well, THEY HAVE. MWAHAHAHA.
Gabriel Edge (such a male romance character name - lol) is a wizard, along with his two other brothers. His family has a magical Scottish curse where the men of his family can't fall in love or bad stuff happens to their women. He's tasked with getting information from a talented scientist whose had her life's work stolen by terrorists. The best way to do this? Make her climax because she has some mental blocks up. But he doesn't want to do it the old-fashioned way since he's already half-way in love with her, so he tries some...other ways. Anyhow, he eventually has to work with her to stop the terrorists while fighting his attraction because...Scottish curse.
Eden Cahill made an indestructible robot that's pretty darned close to being true autonomous AI. It's her life's work, and when it's stolen, she has to keep tight-lipped about it because of how advanced the thing really was. Everyone thinks her mentor (who was murdered) was the one who pioneered it, but it was actually her. When a mysterious being, man, shadow, thing starts haunting her, she gets weirded out. When he transports her to an honest-to-goodness castle in Montana and demands that she build a new robot to stop the old one because terrorists got their hands on it, she had no idea what to do. Oh, and she has to worry about wanting to jump his bones too.
I will say that there is a possibility that you will hate this book. I have no idea why I liked it. Everything on paper says it's dumb. I don't know what to say. I just liked it. Okay? Hah. The romance scenes were spicy. Like...super spicy. Zing. Now, I want to see where this section of the series goes.

Coping with the fact that her mentor and father figure has been murdered and with the very real possibility that she'll be next, the heroine struggles to stay calm. Extremely intelligent from even a young age, this has made her a bit of an outsider among her fellow humans. She much prefers the safety of the lab to the danger of relationships where her heart could be broken again like with her scumbag of an ex-husband. It was her own ego and her ability to create A.I. in robots that made her do what she did and now she's living to regret it. She's made a robot almost indestructible and with the intelligent to reason and problem solve. And now that robot has been stolen and in the hands of those who will use it to kill hundreds of innocent people.
Then the hero comes into the picture. His family has lived under a curse for hundreds of years where they can never have true love. Every time they find a woman who's their soulmate, something will always happen and the woman will always die. So when he's sent to the beautiful doctor to get what knowledge is in her head to destroy the robot, he's instantly on edge around her. The level of desire he feels towards her is slowly driving him insane. He craves her with every single fiber in his body and knows that she feels the same for him yet the fact of the matter is-she could never be his. And he can't read her mind. So instead, he kidnaps her and keeps her in his castle while demanding her to build a secondary robot to destroy the first. The last place he wants her is anywhere near him but it's the only place she will be safe yet the everyday tsunami of want he fights becomes a losing battle. No matter how hard he fights, no matter how harsh or angry or mean he is towards her, she herself can't fight the pull that's pulling them together. And despite the fact that she doesn't trust him or believe in his stupid curse- something about him calls to something within her. They sleep together but this doesn't change things. The hero is still a harsh man who's pissed off about something or other all the time. And it soon becomes apparent that though they can fight the bad wizards, the powerful robot and everything else mounting against them, the bond between them just feels like something that will never truly be solved no matter how hard they try.
This was a roller coaster in regards to if I liked it or not. There were pros and cons to in and I found myself constantly swaying back and forth on the matter. Pros are as follows. The hero was super angsty and tormented. He's given up on the idea of love and fights his desire for the heroine with everything he has and even when he succumbs to sleeping with her, he still keeps his distance emotionally. Next is the heroine with her insecurities regarding her weight and her guilt over the fact that the thing she created in now responsible for the deaths of innocent people. Cons. I found the story to be rather dull and badly paced at times. I also found myself disliking both the heroine and hero as characters. I found the heroine to be clingy and obnoxious sometimes-but at the same time I couldn't quite blame her for throwing herself at the hero considering she too was subject to the whole soulmate desire. And also, the hero could be a massive jerk and actually was quite mean to the heroine for most of the book-even if it was out of fear and anger over what he could never have with her. And i don't blame the heroine for not believing him when he tells her he's a secret agent with magical powers sent to stop the bad men from using the robot considering he's kidnapped her and doesn't prove to her he is who he says he is. Overall i liked this book, it was okay. But definitely nothing special or noteworthy.

T-FLAC psy/spec op agent Gabriel Edge is unable to use his usual magic to accomplish an assignment involving pretty and brilliant Dr. Eden Cahill. Gabriel's also afraid that if he spends too much time with Eden or gets any closer his family curse will kick in. But if he doesn't get the information her prize winning inventions have the potential to destroy the free world. Meanwhile Eden's mentor has been killed, she is suspicious of her boss pressing a romantic suit and she vividly remembers the last time she trusted someone around her inventions and she hasn't told the government everything about the missing robot. Eden and Gabriel try to fight their attraction in a "believable" way and period of time, her by daydreaming - but she doesn't wilt and always shows her backbone but Eden did give into a pity party once or twice since Gabriel's way of fighting the attraction was by being an a**hole of epic proportions. No insta-love for this couple since they both have reasons to not get involved, but their interaction with each other and the secondary characters do keep the story flowing. The premise of this installment itself is compelling and that alone is enough to keep the pages moving.
Once again I found this to be a diverting rainy day or beach read but for me it has not become a must read immediately series. The writing style, characters and overall arc of the agency and the pacing are all serviceable but could do with a little push for my taste. I'm also fine with the balance of romance, action and suspense usually - but again this series has not become an obsession for me. However, I feel the romance portion and neatness in the wrap-up could have been a little less predictable. As usual for these installments, this entry can be read separately or out of order and not affect anything I have seen to date.

If you like reading about lust and sex, boy, is this the book for you. I think if you removed all the sections where the leads are lusting for each other, thinking or talking about sex, and having sex, there's about 20, maybe 50-60 pages of story (that might be generous. And some of that is woo-woo — cue spooky music).
Eden Cahill is genius. She went to university as a teen, and now is one of the youngest experts around on artificial intelligence. She builds an almost indestructible robot that is supposed to be used to rescue soldiers hurt on the battlefield. She knows it could be used for bad things, but doesn't believe the company and boss she is working for could ever sell it to the bad guys. of course, the robot is stolen and her mentor tells her not to trust anyone right before he dies during its theft. (Cliche anyone?)
Enter Gabriel Edge, who works for an anti-terrorist group. Here's where the woo-woo comes in. He can read minds, but for some reason can't read Eden's. It might be because he's distracted by her hotness, but then he finds he can read her a little if they touch and she relaxes, So of course, that means he must get her to orgasm to completely relax her enough to let her shields down. It doesn't hurt that Eden thinks he's hot, too.
But wait, there's more woo-woo. The men in Gabriel's family are cursed — if they act it on it, the women they live will soon die. He doesn't even want to get close, just in case.
But hey, hormones, pheromones, a woody. Soon these two are doing it like bunnies.
By the end, they've saved the day and done their part to break the curse. It's up to Gabriel's two brothers to do their parts to cement their future happiness.

I love the Edge Brothers! No neck-biters in this paranormal series but lots of magic! Three brothers, all dedicated to fighting terrorists as part of the T-FLAC operation, all 'gifted' with wizardly powers. Of course there's a downside!
Before you get to page 1, you read about the spell cast upon their forefather by the witch he jilted in favor of marrying the village debutante some 500 years before. So this is where my logical brain takes a left turn...
Without going into the details of the curse, the wizardly powers were granted as part of it, and each son would have 3 sons. Soooo, in 500 years, allowing for 3 generations per century, the 3 brothers should have had 4.7 million cousins running around with powers like theirs. Nonetheless, they are determined that the curse will end with them and that means they can never fall in love and marry (heavy sigh).
Okay. Skip the cousins. The stories are suspenseful and the heroes are hot, with or without their superhuman abilities (although I think teleporting may be the perfect way to travel).
The Edge Brothers stories are loaded with humor, suspense, and of course, angst.
I highly recommend reading these stories in order because you learn things in Book 1 (Edge of Danger) that provide insight into Books 2 (Edge of Fear) and 3 (Edge of Darkness).

I liked this book in the Edge series, having not read a book by Cherry Adair before my sister lent me the first book, I was impressed with her writing style and the way she blended the paranormal with her characters every day life. I just recently reread this the first book, realizing that I never did finish the series. This story came out in 2006 and was one of the first of it's kind. After rereading this book I got sucked into the story again, and the need to know if these brothers were successful in breaking a curse that's been on their family for generation. The three brothers are part of an anti-terrorism operative, T-FLAC’s classified paranormal unit. Gabriel Edge protects the world from the forces of evil using a mysterious telepathic power as ancient as his Scottish heritage. Gabriel's latest mission is to recover and extremely dangerous invention that was stolen from a covert lab in Arizona. Gabriel's only lead is in the memories of a brilliant young scientist who helped to create the device. From Gabriel’s first contact, Eden Cahill leaves an undeniable impression. Gabriel must form a bond with Eden to access her memories, and use his psychic gift, the fastest way to form this bond is through sex. This is where the family curse could really rear up and bite him in the butt.
If you love paranormal romance I would recommend this series to you they are a fun, interesting, and romantic read.

Wow! This was fantastic! I have read almost every book that Cherry Adair has written and I have never been disappointed. This is the first book in the Edge series that also falls in with the T-FLAC series. I am so glad that Cherry decided to create the enhanced editions of her older books because we get to read a fantastic paranormal suspense with a very steamy romance. Definitely be prepared to read because once you start this book you will not want to put it down, and it will have you wanting to download the next story as soon as possible.
I read the original version and fell in love with Gabriel Edge, but I have to say that if I did not like him then, I definitely would have fell in love with him in this enhanced edition. I really enjoyed reading the deleted scenes, along with all the extra material that is included. Yes, I said, all the extras that she has included at the end of the book. Can you believe it? Not only do we get the deleted scenes, we get a whole lot more, including an inside look into T-FLAC, research information, a storyboard with pictures, and all the details that Cherry needed about the characters, places, and any other references she needed while she wrote Edge of Danger. She’s even included one of her interviews.

Edge of Danger is the first of the Edge brothers trilogy who all happen to be TFLAC operatives with special powers. Gabriel Edge is the oldest of the Edge brothers and never plans to marry due to a family curse that was put on his family centuries ago by a witch that his many times great-grandfather was engaged to, but did not marry because he fell in love with someone else. Gabriel is assigned to penetrate the mind of Eden Cahill so they can rebuild an artificial intelligence robot she created that was stolen by a terrorist so they can destroy the stolen robot, but when he tries and is unable to do so the only way he is able to get to her photogenic mind is through an intimate encounter when her guard is down enough for him to get the needed info. Can they stop the deadly robot in time and can they break the curse the will cause her death? This book has plenty of danger and passion. Loved this book!

Haven't I read this story before? No? I guess it just seems that way. I do like TFLAC more than some of the other paranormal anti-terrorist groups (GhostWalkers).
This is book 8 in the T-FLAC series and book 1 of the Edge Brothers T-FLAC/ Psi-Ops sub-series. I know, it's a little confusing at first. See, there's this counter-terrorist organization called T-FLAC and Cherry Adair has a whole big series about the men and women who work for the organization. Within T-FLAC there is a paranormal branch known as the Psi Ops (operatives). This branch is mostly wizards with various skills. Three of these operatives are the Edge brothers and this is book 1 of the Edge Brothers Trilogy. It's pretty formulaic - action, adventure, heroine in peril, hero rescues heroine, paranormal sex, happy ever after - but pretty well written. This is a good book and I look forward to reading about the other 2 brothers.

She became pregnant but he married another woman, who just happened to be rich and politically well off. The witch cursed him and his family. If they married for love, the women would die after bearing three sons. After 500 years go by, three brothers decide they will never fall in love and get married so the curse would end with them. Gabriel, who is a wizard and in the PSI unit of T-FLAC, gets a new mission. He has to read Dr. Eden Cahill’s mind and get the plans for building a new Rx793 robot. He had a good plan which like most good plans didn’t work. I recommend reading the book to find out the rest of the story. Also this is the new enhanced version of the book so you can get all the background notes on the characters and see the pictures that inspired Cherry Adair as she wrote the book.
