Utterly fascinating to the user of scientific glassware, even if (as nowadays) few if any scientists have to either make their own, or place their order with the company / university glassblower; since instrumental techniques have now very largely taken over from preparative methods.
For any scientist who is of an age to remember designing experimental equipment for separations / synthesis / analysis, this book is a real trip down memory lane. It also reminds of the exquisitely high manipulative skills of the glassblower. I never could imagine how, for example, a Liebig condenser could possibly be made (see pg. 37) – OK; yes, they were expensive!
