Hell's minions have spent years trying to capture Gabriel Flynn, but now they need his help.
Abandoned as a baby, raised by a priest, Gabriel Flynn can pass through the gateway to hell – an ability he uses to liberate souls from the underworld. And his reputation for being a supernatural Scarlet Pimpernel has not gone unnoticed by the forces of darkness, earning him the moniker of The Hell Runner. Gabriel is a wanted man with a sizeable bounty on his head, but now Hell’s minions need him to work for them. The soul of a heinous serial killer, known as The Dark Man, has escaped Hell, and when it comes to apprehending this escapee, there's only one man for the job... The Hell Runner.
For Gabriel Flynn, going to Hell and back is all in a day's work.
"A biblical tale with a dark, hellish twist..." Debbie Ioanna, author of the bestselling novel, Abberton House.
N.D. Thompson is a horror and dark fiction writer from West Yorkshire, publishing under his independent imprint, Darker Realms Press. His work has drawn comparisons to Stephen King, Richard Laymon, and James Herbert—delivered with a distinctly Yorkshire voice that infuses his supernatural stories with grit, atmosphere, and authenticity
Another fantastic horror delivered by N D Thompson which can only be described as a biblical tale with a dark, hellish twist. This needs to be in every horror readers collection.
Thank you to the author for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Having read Season of The Wolf (which was excellent), I was excited to see what N.D Thompson did next. And boy, he did not disappoint.
Hell Runner is a different change of pace to Thompson's previous book. It's a dark fantasy adventure rather than horror, but it's just as thrilling. Although shorter than his last book, it's an absolute rollercoaster ride. Perhaps a bit more tongue in cheek and surreal compared to Season of the Wolf, but this is a good thing - it show cases Thompson's rage of writing talent, able to turn his hand and different genres with success.
But like Season Of The Wolf, Hell Runner has amazing characters, suspenseful prose and twist and turns that make this one you can't put down.
