I like the way the book is organized into helpful little itineraries based on your interest (arts, museums, shopping, culture, history, debauchery - ha! I mean red light district, coffeeshops, etc). The map that came with the book was pretty handy, water resistant and sturdy. It was drizzling a lot the two weeks that I was in Amsterdam but the map (as well as the shiny pages of this little book) took the abuse rather well.
I'd have given it a 4 star until I tried doing one of the walking tours described in this book... Didn't work at all. I think they should have added better landmarks or description or helpful diagrams / pictures of what I should be looking at. Else just take out the walking tours altogether and this pocket guidebook would be thinner and lighter.
