He’s tall, strong, handsome. Distant. He often comes to the café where I work, but we don’t talk much. He looks at me, though. Stares at me, his gaze heated, and I can’t help but stare back. I want him, I won’t deny it. I’ve never seen anyone that beautiful, anyone that powerful, in my life.
But he’s growing more withdrawn by the day. Something’s up, and he won’t tell. I know about his past – the murder of his family when he was fifteen. I can imagine what it must have cost him. So much violence contained in that strong body, waiting to be unleashed. What is he seeking? What is he training so hard for? Why is looking at me like he’s dying to touch me, but won’t dare?
Even as I try to stop thinking about him, get interested in other boys, I realize I can’t. I’m caught, body and soul, just like that. And I tell myself, Megan, girl… What have you gotten yourself into this time?
Standalone novel. No cliffhanger. *Warning: this book contains graphic language, sex, and violence. Mature readers only. Not intended for young readers.*

Jo Raven is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, best known for her series Inked Brotherhood and Damage Control. She writes edgy, contemporary New Adult romance with sexy bad boys and strong-willed heroines. She writes about MME fighters and tattoo artists, dark pasts that bleed into the present, loyalty and raw emotion. Add to that breathtaking suspense, super-hot sex scenes and a happy ending, and you have a Jo Raven® story.
Definitely had a lot of hidden mystery with Rafe's and Megan's background and I always wanted to know more and I was really eager to get to know what effected them. I cannot wait to find out the new characters stories that where introduced especially Cole's. I'm sad the series has finished because overall I loved the series. However this book was not my favourite in the book but I still loved the storyline and the characters. I loved how Megan was more in control of the relationship even though Rafe is the tough character.
A band of brothers who stick together and fight together.
Breaking Rafe Vestri won't be pretty, that's for damn sure. But watching him come undone, finally tearing through his walls, seeing him as he truly is inside ..... that will be beautiful.
A heroin with as many internal scars, a woman with back bone worthy of her man.
Loved Rafe and Megan, perfect match.
"like chocolate" he whispers "You're like a box of chocolates, and I can't decide where to start"
Recommended for those who love a damaged alpha male, hot sexy times, angst, great characters, fast paced read and a hea. Great series.

Wow. Let me start this review by saying that I had never read anything from this author before. Her books have been in my too long to read list but I just never got around to actually starting them. Guh, HOW STUPID AM I????? Rafe was amazing! The last book in the Inked Brotherhood is so emotional!!! It can be read as a standalone but I will surely rush to read the other ones as well. Rafaele Vestri had a rough start in life. After his family is murdered right in front of his eyes, he is forever haunted by plans of revenge. He wants, no, needs to find the man who killed his family and let him live alone with his nightmares. He will do anything to track down the man responsible for his personal hell and he won't find peace until he pays for everything. Megan is a girl who's had it rough. She is running from her past. She is trying to heal. She's been attracted to Rafe since...forever but she's never done anything about it. He comes by her work, he stares, but he never talks...Until that changes. Neither of them can deny their mutual attraction and rising feelings. But Rafe won't allow himself to be happy. His mind is firmly set on his one goal; his revenge. He pushes Megan away and he will even step deep into the circles of illegal fighting in order to succeed. But love cannot be denied forever...or can it??? The writing style amazed me! I was completely drawn into the story since the first chapter. I adored the characters! Megan was so real and Rafe so disarmingly beautiful in his pain that I couldn't help but fall in love with both of them! Their chemistry is beyond this world and their scenes together so seductive. The book overflows with emotions and I just can't find the right words to express my joy for finding this little gem! 5 Stars from little ol'me. Don't miss this one!
*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.*
I hesitantly went into this book knowing that it was the final book in the Inked Brotherhood Series... As I loved this series so much.
What did I know before I started reading this book...
Rafe - Strong, mysterious and a tortured soul Meg - Struggling to find her place in the world and fighting her own type of demons
What I learnt after reading Rafe's story is that his demons are buried deep in his past and he truly believes that unless he fights them he can never move on and live a normal life.
What I learnt after reading Meg's side is that her past is stopping her from being be with the one that she wants that the fear of Carson will truly ruin any future she may dream to have.
Together they can make their pasts disappear they can look adversity in the face and stand tall together and be everything that the other one needs them to be.
This book had me crying, laughing and sighing the end of this book was how all books should end in a circle of trust, love and friendship, with your family/friends.
Well done Jo, again you have outdone yourself, I fell in love with Rafe, I understood so much about his pain and how he needs to feel it and how the love of a good person can help that go away. Thank you Jo you did not disappoint at all
So sad this is the last book in the series! I loved Rafe, he is definitely s favourite! All the books were amazing, I love reading about damaged bad boys. I can't wait for all the spin off series. I will always be watching for new books from this incredible author!!
This story was a little darker than the others. All the brotherhood has gone through some pain but Rafe really went through some traumatic shit. Lost his whole family at 15. They got murdered in front of his eyes. He knows now why. Still doesn't make it right. And I was confused on the whole Megan and the baby ordeal. The way she was talking at first she made it sound like it was her baby. I'm pretty sure she said my blood. But then she said brother. So then I thought maybe she was carrying a baby for her mom. Turns out it wasn't her blood it was her moms. Unless her blood got in the mix. Who knows. All in all in good story. Only two left in the inked brotherhood series Tyler and then inked babies.
Rafe the last book in the Inked Brotherhood series was everything Jo Raven promised it would deliver. As this was the last book in the series I put off reading Rafe because I knew his story was going to hit my emotions hard, and I just didn’t want to say goodbye to the guys I had fallen in love with as each of their books were released.
Rafe’s story tells us of a tortured soul who relentlessly keeps happiness from touching his life. Feeling undeserved of love and marred by memories of seeing his family murdered in front of his own eyes haunts his daily existence. Keeping things close to his heart he tries to handle things his own way, which strains his relationship with his brothers who just wants him to open up and share his pain with them. Megan has always been a sweet girl but not much was known about her in the previous books pretty much like Rafe. Her character, her sense of humour, sexiness and the love she felt for Rafe had me loving her.
The only balm to Rafe’s demons is Meg but his fears and closed off state keep him from letting her into his life, as revenge boils his blood to find his family’s murderer and nothing will stop him despite what dangers lurk around the corner. Together they fight their own battles but they are never alone or far away, and once the chains holding them back are broken the heat is on and Rafe delivers hot and passionate scenes with Megan.
I loved Rafe he was amazing as he tried to overcome the darkness and Meg proved to be his light. His alpha and protective side was sweet and sexy.
Each Inked Brotherhood story has been a joy to read and credit goes to Jo Raven in writing such beautiful emotional stories. I can’t wait to see if some of the characters mentioned in Rafe will show up in the Damage Control series, and I just knew Raylin would be getting her own story so I am excited about that. I can't wait to see the guys turning up in the Damage Control series and catching up with their lives.

Jo leaves the best til last ! Rafe's book is so bittersweet- yes I've been waiting almost a year to hear this young man's extraordinary story but Rafe's story also marks the end for the inked brotherhood series. I always knew Rafe's story would be the most heartbreaking, we had seen glimpse of it throughout the other boys stories, with each story Rafe seemed to be withdrawing himself away from his friends. As each young man straighten themselves out often with the help of Rafe. Rafe finds himself in a situation where he really needs the help of others but will he be strong enough to admit it in time ? At the age of fifteen Rafe's family are murdered in cold blood, unable to prevent their murders and save his dying sister he decides to save those he can. For the next four years Rafe tries to save and repair the lives of those around him always giving and never taking or asking for help until now, until a sighting of a man shakes him to the core sending him in a down ward spiral. His only salvation comes in the form of Megan, but Megan is running, running from her moms abusive boyfriend. The timing for both stinks but there's a pull that neither of them can deny but will their past finally let them be happy ? I always knew Rafe's story would be emotional, as Jo's writing really pulls on your heartstrings. There's enough twists and turns too make you dizzy plus the addition of a few new characters - Colt and Raylin I want to know more about these people !!!! Yes Rafe's story marks the end for these five remarkable young men but there will be more from the Damage control boys so all is not lost. Looking forward to reading more from one of my favourite authors.
I was anxiously awaiting Rafe's story and Ms. Raven did not disappoint! Rafe experienced something horrific ....something no one should ever go through and it has impacted him in such a way that he doesn't feel deserving of love. Meg too experienced a horrific event. Rafe has always been the one to take care of everyone and over the course of the series, we can see his strength and resolve, his integrity and strength of character...but we also see that everything is slowly crumbling around him and he doesn't know how to fix any of it. Meg is strong and wants to help Rafe...to be his sounding board and to be his strength when he is unable to find any of his own. In typical alpha fashion...he doesn't want to accept help, not from Meg and not from his friends either. A person can only take so much before they break. I am unable to go any further without divulging spoilers...and that's not my style. You'll have to read to find out for yourself. A fantastic book! I'd highly recommend not only THIS book, but her entire series. When I came upon this author i thought..why not try and see....and I"m so glad I did. She's quickly become a "go to author". I don't even hesitate to one click whatever she's written.
Rafe doesn't disappoint. At all. Jo Raven did and amazing job with Rafe. I immediately connected with Rafe and Meg, immediately felt their fears, their emotions and their connection. These two characters broke my heart. Actually, I almost cried at one point and it's all Rafe doing! ;) I knew I would love this book, but I wasn't expecting to love it so much. I couldn't put the book down, couldn't stop reading and I ended up finishing it in the middle of the night, with bloodshot eyes, my heart manhandled but wonderfully so, and with emotions that received a good workout. Perfect ending to this series.
You probably know that I love this author and her books. I love this group of friends and even though it's not a goodbye forever (because Jo Raven has amazing stories in store for us with the other characters from this world), I'm still happy and sad. You know this feeling when you're finished with a series.
Rafe has a sordid past. A past that taunts his every day life. His demons comes to life in his dreams. He feels he deserves nothing; happiness or love. But when Megan saunters into his life like a meteor falling from the sky, will he finally exercise the demons that would some day kill him?
Rafe....Our Rafe. I have been waiting for what seems like forever to finally figure out the complex aura that surrounds his being. His moods and negativity in previous books sets the mood for his story. And what a story indeed. I am always left in awe of Jo Raven after reading her books, and have been behind her since Asher was released. The storyline and plot were perfect as we're every single character. With twists and turns, love and heartbreak around every corner; how can you not love this! Absolutely fantastic!
Aimed at audiences of 18+ with HOT sex and violence.
" 5 I heart Rafe Stars " *ARC received in behalf of bookaliciousbabe's blog ********************************** This book is about dealing with your demons and how through love it's possible.. This is book 5 of the Inked Brotherhood, Let's start with Rafe, he is sexy, intriguing, broody, man who has alot of demons to deal with he has trouble letting go of the past his journey was a very emotional one and he just needs a little push and her name is Megan. I really enjoyed the depth of this book now let's talk about Megan, she was sweet, understanding, caring, she has been through so much in her life but she didn't let that keep her down it was beautiful to read about these two broken souls and how they found each other I am so sad to see this seris end I am looking forward to more from Jo Raven!!!
Rafe is unbearably broken on the inside from his past that haunts him daily. He needs pain to survive. Pain & eyes set on one goal to seek his revenge. Seeking such revenge from a horrifying event which took place on a day Rafe can’t & won’t ever forget. Eyes on the prize. His main goal: seek revenge & blood who cost him his world. Megan had eyes for Rafe from afar for a long time before he even knew her name. Her plan was simple. Break him. Rebuild him slowly and carefully. When she gets what she wants it’s torn tragically from her grip. Both have goals. Both need to seek them, to be set free before they are welcomed home. This tore at so many different places within. Never having dealt with any of these characters issues only makes my heart torn within tenfold. I was graciously gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review.
I'm sad to see this series end, each book has been so enjoyable to read and I love the way we saw the group of friends grow and develop and each found their happy ending. Rafe has been through a horrendous trauma and is in a dark place when he and Megan cross paths. These two have some seriously HOT chemistry between them. Phew. Can they be each other's redemption or will their demons find them denying themselves the right to love and be loved? Not many light moments in this one. Good storytelling with really good character development. I enjoyed it very much. Recommend over 18's only and also that you read the series in order to get the best out of it.
Aside from a few inconsistencies, Rafe was surprising my favorite in the Inked Brotherhood series. Would have been a perfect 5 star if not for typos/spelling errors and a couple inconsistencies that I would blame on the editor, but apparently the author takes full responsibility since she says she often makes changes last minute. I guess I give her credit for taking the brunt of that.
Otherwise, strong ending to the series and glad she set things up for future series centering around the Inked Brotherhood world so we get glimpses of the boys here and there.
Rafe is the final book in the Inked Brotherhood series by Jo Raven & it was overwhelming! Rafe's life overflows with pain & anguish, balanced in part by the family he & Zane have gathered around themselves. But the tragedy of his life takes over & he won't allow himself to feel, to love, to experience... Until Megan. I loved all 5 couples in this series & it's definitely a batch of books that I'll reread - I already have started again with Asher & Tyler! Do yourself a favour & read all the Inked Brotherhood books, you will enjoy them, guaranteed. .
I adore Jo Raven and absolutely enjoyed this last book in the Inked Brotherhood Series! Jo really knows how to write about tortured guys that are so much more than meets the eye. Each and every one of the Inked Boys (Asher, Tyler, Zeke, Dylan and Rafe) owns a piece of my heart. I loved how deep their bond was. Their love and loyalty towards each other was simply amazing and shows that family can also be someone who is not blood-related! These books are a must-read if you like angsty, sexy reads with tattoed heroes and loveable heroines that are their perfect match.
The final book of the Inked Brotherhood. There are demons that need to faced by Rafe and Meg. Rafe and Meg both have pasts that are constantly in their mind. They each have triggers and have learned coping mechanisms. Rafe is strong and mysterious. Meg is someone that will fight for herself. Meg is a calming agent for Rafe. This book has mystery, suspense and a great storyline. Highly recommend this series. Are Rafe and Meg able to fight their demons and come together as one?
I have loved this series from book one, this one not so much. I found it to be incredibly heavy on the inner monologue which got a bit old, which is a shame as I think Rafe's story could have been so much more. The inner monologue totally swamped the story to the point that the exciting parts were glossed over.
Wtf did I just read? I'm looking at other reviews wondering if we read the same book. The storyline was weak, the plot and how things were resolved had me actually rolling my eyes. I should have thrown in the towel at 20% but decided to force myself to finish. On a positive note there were parts that were well written but unfortunately not enough for me to give this book a higher rating.
Intense...That pretty much sums up this storyline and 2 characters..Never have a I read such a story of 2 people who've been through so much in their young lives. Fate brought them together to heal each other up and become whole again.
The story has some issues, I think the author tried to give closure to every topic but it was too much.
Rafe and Meg, they both have a past and they have to cope with that if they want to be together, the past is the past and they have to let it go before they decided to build a future.
