Innocuous rhymes and pictures about St. Patrick's Day.

My daughter liked it when she was three, but it doesn't do anything for me.

I took an ancestry test and it turns out that I'm a wee-bit Irish, which I figured because of my auburn brown hair. I've always loved everything about St. Patrick's day and the Irish. This makes for a great introduction to Irish culture and St. Patrick's day.

This is an easy level 1 book of "short sentences and stories made up of words kids can sound out using their phonics skills and words that are important to remember".

This book was okay. There's a phrase, "It's St. Patrick's Day!", that is repeated throughout the book, but it honestly didn't bother me. You notice the repetition, but it flows well within the book. The illustrations have a nice light palette and I like how the people are drawn. From a preschool point of view, it's a good book if you're desperate for a St. Patrick's Day book to read to the kids, but I feel like it's more of a book kids can flip through during their reading time in preschool, then if you made it one of your main books to read during circle time for this holiday.

This is a fun book for young readers that depicts many of the activities and culture surrounding St. Patrick's Day. The rhyming narrative and cute illustrations will encourage young children, even though there are some unfamiliar words. And the story is short enough to keep a child's interest, too. We enjoyed reading this book together.
