A chance meeting, two strangers whose paths cross—in the same place at the same time, yet a world apart.

When mining engineer Ethan Savage spots the cloaked, veiled woman riding a donkey in the Moroccan desert, he can be forgiven for thinking that in some respects nothing much has changed in two thousand years. She wouldn’t look out of place in Biblical times. They pass, no

Original Blog Post: eARC Review & Excerpt: Chameleon by Ashe Barker

I found out that Totally Five Star is a series conceptualized by Ashe Barker with the debut novel being Chameleon. It's stories set in luxurious hotels around the world (two are mentioned in this book: Marrakesh and Paris) owned by elusive hotel mogul James Conroy. I hope that the tone of these novels will all follow the first because - it's scorchingly hot!

Ethan is a man on a mission in the wilds of the desert. While surveyi

Chameleon is the first book in Totally Bound's new line, Totally 5 Star - about a chain of uber-luxury hotels the world over. Ashe Barker's book is set in Marrakesh, Morocco, and tells the story of Ethan Savage, who's a friend of the Totally 5 Star CEO and is staying in the Marrakesh hotel. He's in the country for his job as a mining engineer, and while out in the desert, he sees an intriguing Berber peasant go past on a donkey. He can only see her eyes - but it's enough. He's fascinated by the ...more

There is something very endearing about the characters Ashe Barker writes about. They all come with faults and they all seem to very intelligent and eager to find a place in the world where they can contribute and. This book is very descriptive, an erotic romance with good contrast of culture and place.

A business traveller carrying out a geosurvey at the foot of the Atlas Mountains has remarkably gone unnoticed by the hordes of shouting men and boys who appear from nowhere and crowd around visitors entreating them to buy camel-bone mirrors, carvings and carpets. I don't know how he manages it but that would be worth good money in itself. He has a minor crash on the bad road, damaging his car and getting s

4.5 stars.

This is the second Ashe Barker book in the Totally Five Star series I’ve read and I loved it as much as the first, ‘La Brat’. Which is set after this one, incidentally if you want to read them in the correct order!

The location of ‘Chameleon’ is Marrakesh, and there’s a sharp contrast between the wild, barren foothills of the Atlas Mountains where the story begins and the luxurious modern hotel set in the ancient city, parts of which date back to the eleventh century. Old and new, pover

Ashe Barker writes exquisite stories. In her book Chameleon, she follows the torrid fling between a beautiful Moroccan doctor, Fleur Mansouri and a visiting English engineer, Ethan Savage (what a perfect last name for a dom!). Fleur has natural urges toward submission, but when she tried to express those to her husband as a young wife, he ridiculed her, and worse, physically abused her.

Ethan Savage is an experience dom, who is captivated by the exotic doctor who he first spies riding a donkey by

It's fairly safe to say I am a Ashe Barker fan. I've read almost every book she has out so of course when the chance to read Chameleon came alone I jumped. And was not disappointed.

Very sweet and erotic, Chameleon has it all. Ethan's chance meeting with Fleur was quite entertaining for me. Really, he's out in the middle of a desert and along comes a veiled woman riding a donkey. What are the chances?! Just when you think that's it, in walks a olive tree. From there things just get more interesti

Chameleon was sexy and exotic being set in Marrakesh, Morocco, a very conservative culture. I understand that this is the first book in a new series (Totally Five Star).
Ethan is a friend to the owner of Totally Five Star hotel chain and is doing work for him on a possible new hotel site in Marrakesh when he meets Fleur. His initial impression of her as a peasant, he soon discovers is incorrect when he has a car accident and she treats him as the physician for Totally Five Star. Fleur has had wan

Sensuality at it’s best in this rich Moroccan tale.

Barker does it again! In a sinfully sensual story set in the most unusual of settings, a luxury hotel in Marrakesh. Part of the new Totally Five Star Imprint from Totally Bound, Ashe Barker weaves a seductively exotic story when Fleur, the hotel doctor, comes to the aide of Ethan, a visiting English geologist who has crashed his car and is in need of medical attention. Ethan is just what the doctor ordered when Fleur finds herself falling for t

This might have made it to a five-star despite that, but my biggest gripe about this book was that there really was no good reason these two couldn't have been together as a couple. Seriously - Fleur is only on a temp job, and she does move on that fact once she decides she wants to be with Ethan permanently, but the job issue was never a real impediment to the romance.

Until 2010, Ashe was a director of a regeneration company before deciding there had to be more to life and leaving to pursue a lifetime goal of self-employment.

Ashe has been an avid reader of women’s fiction for many years—erotic, historical, contemporary, fantasy, romance—you name it. Now, at last in control of her own time and working from her home in rural West Yorkshire, she has been able to r
