Sharks in Question is a collective response to the thousands of questions about sharks received annually by scientists at Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History. Written in a question-and-answer format accompanied by more than 100 photographs and illustrations, the book provides knowledge for a general audience as well as students of marine biology. Victor Springer provides a comprehensive review of the biology of sharks in three broad divisions: shark biology and evolutionary history, the “supersharks” notable for their life history, size, or temperament, and the interactions between sharks and humans, including the risk of shark attack.
Greatly informational considering its year of publication. Well written and pleasant to read. It covers a lot of areas of general information without being too dense or flowery. I wish they would publish an up-to-date edition through the Smithsonian for the modern/21st century information we have.
This is one of my all time favorite books. The amount of information that is in this book is unparalleled to any of the other shark books I have read so far. This book gives in depth details into the world of sharks. The history, the myths, the facts, and conservation efforts are all highlighted inside the book. A MUST READ FOR ANYONE WHO IS REALLY FASCINATED BY SHARKS!
