I’m the author of a children’s adventure fantasy series filled with action and mystery—The Lords of Dimensions: The Night Slayer, The Princes of the Abyss, The Demon Ripper, and The Pyramids of Power.

The series began in 2002 as weekly phone stories I told my nephew so we could stay in touch. Years later, in 2010, I wrote them all down for my son. He read them, laughed a lot, and way too often forgot to breathe. I acted cool about it, but inside, I was doing a victory dance.

My goal was simple—write something fast, funny, and packed with characters 10-14-year-olds could relate to. But as a busy entrepreneur, perfecting the books took time. Once I dedicated myself full-time to my dream of writing for kids, the process sped up.

All four books are now complete, and I’m just waiting on final touches like covers and formatting. The adventure begins with The Night Slayer on August 14, 2025, and the entire series will be released in less a year—by August 2026!

As for me, I like to say I stopped growing up around age thirteen. My body kept going, but my brain said, “Nah, I’m good.” Some might call that a problem (go figure), but it’s helped me run rapidly growing companies—and it’s perfect for writing funny, fast-moving adventures for young readers.

My heroes—Alex, Lin, Whiz, and Cleo—have become like family to me. I hope they’ll find a place in your heart too, and that you’ll enjoy their adventures as much as I’ve loved creating them.

The Princes of the Abyss is Book 2 in The Lords of Dimensions by George Jankovic. If you enjoy fast paced action/fantasy with great characters this series is not to be missed. Cleo, Lin, Alex and Whiz are fighting against a very evil Man with No Face. He opens a portal and WOW the story flies off of the page. I read book 1, The Night Slayer, before I read book 2 and for me, it gave me the foundation I needed. If you enjoy fantasy, fight good vs evil, and a excellent story, in my opion, this book and series is not to be missed. I received an arc for free and am leaving my review voluntarily.

What worked:
The book opens where the previous book ended. Alex is dying, and Lin makes a drastic decision. She gives him some of her life energy to survive, even though it will shorten her own. Lin becomes weak and less focused, and the effects continue as the story progresses. She hears screaming demons in her head, and she still has mixed feelings about her visions of the future. The mental noises addle her thinking, and the others are concerned for her safety in battle. Alex, Whiz, and Cleo aren’t fully aware of her condition, so readers will anticipate the moment they learn of the pain and anguish tormenting her.
Moloch, The Man With No Face, manipulated Alex’s team in book one, and they wonder if he might be doing it again. Moloch plans to wipe out the city of Alamon, where Alex grew up, before wielding his undead forces against the human world. The inhabitants of Alamon aren’t fighters and don’t have any defenses or weapons, so Alex and his friends must be their “army”. Once again, an author pits several kids with elemental powers against an overwhelming, malevolent force. There’s no way for them to recruit more allies, and their search for an imposing weapon is futile. They must discover untapped abilities hidden deep within themselves.
The four kids have unique personalities, and their interactions evoke a range of emotions. Whiz frequently lets readers know he frightens easily, as the author shares Whiz’s mental voice saying “bock, bock, bock” like a chicken. He’s the most intelligent character, but Cleo enjoys teasing him at every opportunity. Cleo lost her whole crew in the previous book, but she’s retained her bravado and willingness to fight. Perhaps her feelings for Whiz will be realized. Lin is Cleo’s twin sister, although they grew up apart. Lin is more reserved and emotional, and she has a budding affection for Alex. Alex is the most well-rounded character, and he awkwardly shares his interest in Lin. He’s willing to listen to others’ ideas before making plans, and he bravely fights when the need arises. However, he’s prone to putting himself at risk if one of his teammates is in danger.
What didn’t work as well:
The chapters shift the story’s focus to either Alex, Lin, Cleo, or Whiz, so readers must keep this in mind. Even though readers might be most interested in Alex’s character, all four of them go through more significant transformations than in the previous book. Also, this plot’s resolution will require middle-graders to read the next book.
The final verdict:
You should read The Night Slayer before reading this book. The confrontation with Moloch will be familiar, but shifts in characters’ relationships are a highlight. They’re joined by an amazing, talking ship, and it becomes an additional character. I recommend you check this book out for yourself.

Readers’ Comments
“I liked this story a lot. Saying that, book two is better. But I often find that. I liked the first Harry Potter but didn’t like the second. Anyway, Alex is cool – brave too. And I like the name of the antagonist – The Man with no Face. “ Girl, aged 12
“I don’t think this book works as a standalone. I’ve read the first book, so it’s okay for me. But if I hadn’t, I’d be confused. Whiz is a good character; smart too. And I liked the pacing as it’s fast paced. I think Percy Jackson fans will love it.” Girl, aged 12
“I liked how the characters worked together in the story.” Boy, aged 11
“Lots of suspense, and lots of clever twists too. If you like fantasy books, you’ll like this. It jumps about a bit, which was a bit annoying. I wanted to stay with Alex. The author’s good with speech and good at plotting an unpredictable story.” Boy, aged 12 – with a little help from his TA
“The first book is MEGA, the second is almost as good. I felt it was a bit slower than the first. There’s more ‘character’ stuff in it. But that’s good too as I now know the kid characters much better.” Boy, aged 11

To Sum It Up:
“A strong ‘second book’ packed with twists, turns – and suspense.” Wishing Shelf Book Awards

The Princes Of The Abyss: Book 2 of the Lords of Dimensions series is an unputdownable, magical, adventurous, creative, mysterious, fast paced, and gripping read! Once I started reading.....I literally could not stop without intense cravings to be reading again. I love this middle grade fantasy adventure which can be enjoyed by all ages.I highly recommend reading The Night Slayer first because book two picks up at a cliff hanger and it would be hard to understand the magical elements without reading book 1 first.

The creativity of this series is phenomenal! It is reminiscent of some of my favorites like the Percy Jackson series yet is completely unique. I have loved the multiple perspectives throughout this book! The four heros Alex, Cleo, Lin, and Whiz are all different yet their hearts, will to fight against evil, and understanding of what it is like to be a orphan bring them together beautifully. Their powers are truly magical but in this book I was most impressed and drawn to Lin for her selflessness even through terrifying prophetic visions. However, I continue to love the much needed humor Alex brings to the series. I laughed out loud many times and felt a wide array of emotions while reading this book. It is the kind of story you get completely lost in. I love the magical world created, character personalities, use of comparison based humor, multiple perspectives, and strengthing relationship between team members. There is so much to love about this one of a kind read and I cannot wait for book 3 & 4! I highly recommend this series!!

The Night Slayer

The adventure continues in book 2 of the Lords of Dimensions series, The Princes of the Abyss. Alex, Lin, Whiz, and Cleo continue to grow as a team and as individuals, forcing them to rely on each others, creating a stronger bond, and became a true team. The stakes are higher with plenty of suspense which keep the readers engaged. Can’t wait for the next installment!
