This is a very simple story told in rhyme of a full summer day about a family with children and a dog. I read it immediately after I read Flannel Kisses and liked it slightly less than the first one, I think because the illustration were more detailed in the winter themed “Flannel” book, but I still thought this was a special book.

I recommend reading these books together, even though there’s something to be said for reading each book during its own season. I hope that autumn and spring books will be written and illustrated.

Picturebook. It was a fun book about the fun summer activities the young children participated that day. The illustrations were fun and bright like summertime.

A classic story of summer days. Reminiscent of my idyllic childhood (thanks Mom and Dad) and a vision of what I try to offer my family. Love it!

Age: Infant
Season: Summer

Early introduction to summertime words. Although the pictures are soft, there may be too much detail/exposure for a little baby.
