Jillian Dodd is a USA Today bestselling mother-daughter duo made up of Jill and Kenzie — two writers, one pen name, and a shared love for fun, binge-worthy YA romance.
With over fifty books and millions of happy readers, their stories range from small-town love in That Boy to glamorous adventures and swoony YA boarding school dramas in The Keatyn Chronicles, London Prep, Spy Girl, and beyond.
Jill lives in sunny Florida with her husband, while Kenzie lives in Scotland with her husband and family. When they’re not writing across time zones, you’ll find them planning their next adventure or dreaming up lovable stories readers can’t put down.
Jillian Dodd did such a marvelous job in writing the Keatyn Chronicles. Each book that was in the series kept getting better and amazing. As each page you turn the climax kept getting better and more superior. Keatyn, the main character, learned from her mistakes, but that only made her better as person.
Keatyn was a sixteen year old, who had everything or she had thought. Keatyn was not just any teenager she was the daughter of a comedy actress Abby Johnson. One of the great things she did was write scripts about how she wanted her life to be. When she had the perfect high school boyfriend, “Sander is a great boyfriend. He’s super attractive, dresses well, loves to shop, and never even looks at other girls.” – Jillian Dodd (The Keatyn Chronicles) The only flaw is that she has a secret crush on her surfer boy Brooklyn “B” who is also her neighbor. When she meets Vincent who wants her to star in his remake of her mothers, “A Day at the Lake” movie. Even when Keatyn doesn’t expect it Vincent helped her and she helped him through tough times. When Keatyn struggles to keep the balance between her school friends and surfer crew. She also has to be aware of her mother’s stalker. Each day is a new battle and another problem solved.
Overall these books, are very entertaining, memorable, and insightful. I agreed with the ways that Jillian Dodd had the main character Keatyn solve her complications, with her everyday struggles. The possibilities that the book suggest is the ways to overcome fears in everyday lives. I think that Jillian Dodd didn’t leave out any matters that would be different from what she already wrote. In other series I have read that was partly similar, this series I have related to the most with the outcomes of the characters. Overall, I would have to agree with the author’s decision with the solutions of the problems throughout the novels. On a personal note I would not necessarily see me in some of the situations that Keatyn was in, but with some I would have.
In conclusion, this is a great series if you are looking for a dramatic high school experience. These novels are not the typical books you would read about in everyday books these are much more. My only advice to potential readers would be pay attention to EVERY detail that comes across throughout the books. I highly recommend these books if you like dramatic and entertaining high school books.
When I started these books and realized what they were about, I thought to myself "ugh, not 7 books of teenage angst!" But I kept reading and soon found myself wrapped up in Keatyn's life and drama. Maybe it was because, although it all took place for a girl who was still in high school, it could easily be an older woman's life. These books remind us that it doesn't matter your age, problems are universal.
I love this book! I could not stop reading it! I was so intrigued by the story line, that characters, the drama, romance, and action! I will recommend this series to everyone I know!
I almost stopped reading when I was starting to read book 1. I just couldn't get into it. However, once I was into book 2 I was glad I didn't give up. It picked up and just kept getting better with each and every book.
I devoured all 12 books in the Keatyn Chronicles (KC) series in one week after discovering Jillian Dodd's London Prep Books 1 & 2 and WOW!! if you're looking for a series that will draw you in, This. Is. It!
London Prep is also AWESOME BTW and even though the story is still being written, it is just as consuming as KC!
My favorite thing about this series is watching Keatyn, and her friends, grow over time. This is not your typical high school romance where the girl meets a boy and they are together by the end of the book. Keatyn's life is full of drama and she has several guys come into her life throughout the first part of series (Books 1-7). We love each one for different reasons but in the end fate brings Keatyn her moon boy.
The second part of the series (Books 8-12) are written when Keatyn and her friends are young adults. This is written from multiple perspectives so we get to know her friends better. Even though Keatyn has her HEA there is still lots of love and drama.
The book order is a bit confusing due to title and formatting changes (Goodreads and Amazon don't match) Book Order: 1) Stalk Me #1 2) Kiss Me #2 3) Date Me #3 4) Love Me #4 5) Adore Me #4.5 6) Hate Me #5 7) Get Me #6 * Bonus Alternative POV: #6.25 * Bonus material from books 1-7: Keatyn Unscripted #6.5 8) Fame (Captive Films: Season One #1-6) 9) Power (Captive Films: Season Two #1-3) 10) Money 11) Sex 12) Love
WARNING: The books do need to be read in order and once you start it is hard to stop.
TIP: If you're getting the Audio Books (which I highly recommend) you can get Books 1-3 and 4-6 in bundles so you get 6 books for just 2 credits!
After reading the That Boy series, I wanted to check out the stories of some other characters that were mentioned. I didn’t want to leave their world. Boy am I glad I did. I was worried at first since it had a lot of high school drama, that I wouldn’t like it. And I was bit confused since it walked the timelines very far back, from meeting them as adults in the That Boy Series, to when they were in high school. But a week later (I had to eat, sleep, and take care of a little one) of late night/all day reading and being a hermit, I finished. And I’m so glad I started it. It seriously hooked me in. Kaetyn is such a bad@$$, a great starting character. She showed so much growth and was a very strong female. Seriously, my girl crush. I wish I went to their high school, I feel like I did. Onto books 8-12!
I am going to be honest, when I started this book I didn’t love it at first, but yet I couldn’t stop reading. I felt like I had stepped in to an alternate universe that I didn’t know even existed. Did teenagers really behave like this in tel life and was I just so sheltered? But I loved the character development and growth. There fun personalities and sometimes not fun personalities were a blast to get to know. I read all 7 of these and books 8-12 in a week while working full time and being a wife and mom. Needless to say I didn’t sleep much. It was amazing to see how they had so much emotional growth and to see how they developed in to amazing people. Jillian Dodd is an amazing author! I enjoy the worlds she creates for her characters.
I'm speechless. The Keatyn Chronicles are an amazing read. The characters jump off the page. Keatyn's story is beautiful and tragic. You'll laugh, cry, and everything in between. The male leads are captivating and romantic. I feel like I was a part of Keatyn's inner circle. I'd give this series 100 stars if I could.
Saw the first book come up on facebook and decided to read the first one, after that I was hooked.. I had all of them read in two weeks. I couldn't put them down but made myself. I love the story line and all the characters. I love that I had a true ending that didn't leave you hanging too.
This was a very long series and there were times that I wasn't sure I could finish it. It's Beverly Hills 90210/Pretty Little Liars on steroids.
There are so many characters in the first couple of books and so many love interests for Keatyn I was getting whiplash.
By the end of the series, it did calm down somewhat, but it really is for a younger audience. The things Keatyn accomplished while being so immature was unbelievable and it started to grate on my nerves. I made it all the way through and the end was pretty good, except I didn't like the fate of one of the characters. I didn't really get why that was necessary to do, but I am not an author so what do I know? LOL
This series was hard t out down at night! I was team B, but very quickly turned to team Aiden. Never team Dawson!!! Exciting storyline, can't wait for the next story!
Keatyn has a life most girls would dream of. She’s the daughter of America’s favorite actress. Has a closet full of designer clothes. A Malibu beach house. The hottest boyfriend at school. But the girl who seems to have everything isn’t happy with the direction of her life, so she makes a wish on the moon. This series, in its entirety, was well worth the 5 I am giving it. It was exciting and thrilling throughout the whole thing (I constantly felt on the verge of an anxiety attack). This book was funny, creepy, thrilling, sexy, and just twenty different kinds of awesome. The summary above does it no justice at all. It is definitely a cool twist on a fairy tale romance type of story, except the heroine is a total badass, and not the whiney brat you would expect her to be. I loved reading about her and all of the characters in this series. Things were complicated in a way that made it interesting and kept you on your toes. The suspense was real throughout the whole series, and it wasn’t one of those books where you want to yell at the character and tell her what she’s doing wrong (except for telling Aiden the truth). The dialogue was funny and modern, and everything you want from a young adult book. It also had the perfect ending. You all know how much I love a good epilogue, and this one gave you a damn good one. I know there’s another series with these characters, and I am totally excited to start reading it tonight, but this series ended absolutely perfectly. There was nothing I would have changed about these books, and if you don’t just buy the box set so you can keep reading after the cliffhanger ending in each book, you’re doing something wrong.
Always dreamt of going to boarding school! (spoilers)
I initially started reading book one a few months ago. Got about half way through and got distracted by life (as always). So I started reading again and couldn't put it down! Found the set with all 7 books in it. It was all I thought about! I ate, drank, and dreamed about this book!
Did like Dawson and the beginning, but then he got on my nerves! He seriously only thought sex, sex, sex! And Keatyn would be upset with herself because she knew that, but then would sleep with him again! She finally came to her senses and started dating Aiden. Dreamy, godly Aiden. Always loved him.
Then all the stuff with Vincent kept me reading! I love a good romance with suspense! I was worried that everything with him would come to a head really quick and then be over really quick. Which I kind of think it did, but I felt like that's how it felt to Keatyn as well. Everything was a blur for her.
This is one of those stories that you will love, hate, laugh and be frustrated with by turns but by the end you will be glad you stayed the entire ride. Over the course of the series you will begin to care about the character's, even the ones that you hate and will begin to root for your faves.
My biggest complaint was the end, it felt rushed so that we were cheated of seeing how things unfold for Keatyn and the guy she ultimately chose. It almost felt like the author became so focused on saving the choice for the very, very end that we see more about the villain than the happily ever after.
I loved this series!! I had read each book, 1 - 4.5, as they came out, but then decided I should just read them ALL in sequential order. Awesome idea!
Keatyn has a fabulous life. She lives on the beach with her movie star parents, has the hottest boyfriend, and is in the popular crowd at school. Even with her closet full of designer clothes, Keatyn's life isn't drama free. I love ALL of Keatyn's boys....Cush, Damian, Brooklyn, Aiden, etc. In the end, I do feel she ended up with the right guy! This series has the perfect amount of clothes, love, and suspense!
Im currently reading the second book: Keatyn has just graduated from high school and she just got into Long Beach college. Its been 2 weeks and shes already having some boy drama but on the good side her new roommate is like her new bestie so its kinda working out for her. Shes crushing on the new guy but she might still have feelings for her ex. Keatyn is wishing that her was with her to help her deal with it but her mom isnt here yet, so Keatyn is on her own to deal with the boys for about 3 weeks now. #hopeshesurvives
I loved this set. I just kept reading. It has taken me days to read all these books. I would highly recommend this book or series to anyone. I've been tempted to read this series for a while now. I'm happy I waited since they were all put into a bundle. I hate it when I read a series and accidentally read them in the wrong order. Just WOW I love Keatyn and Aiden and the whole Eastbrook crew
I have been wanting to read this series forever and when it came on sale for .99, I couldn't pass up. It took me a week to read all 7 books. This series took me on a journey of discovering Keatyn's modern day fairy epic fairytale with a suspenseful twists, swoonworthy romances and humerous moments. This series is crossed between Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars, very addictive to the very end!
This was an amazing set of books. I loved reading about Keatyn's life and how she grows up fast after something very serious happens. Keatyn is a character that no matter how many mistakes she makes, you love her and want the best to happen for her. Jillian Dodd is an amazing author who makes you completely engulfed and enthralled in the entire story. This is a great sttory that everyone needs to read.
This is a series that is so captivating that once you're done, you aren't ready to let go of the characters. It is definitely one that you can re-read over and over without ever being bored. All the parts that you know that are coming up whether they are funny or sad, you will still laugh or cry. It is something that is so moving and just lets you escape reality. This is by far one of my favorite book series written by an amazing author.
When I started this series I didn't love it, but I was intrigued enough to keep going. Thats actually how most of the series went for me. It's not the most riveting story ever, but it was good. I enjoyed the suspense of the whole series, eve though it was super unrealistic. I was also glad that I by the time I got to the very long end of the series, the author kind of wrapped up everyones lives.
Girls, if you think your life doesn't have enough drama, read this series- the drama is so ON it will give you whiplash! I totally hated Keatyn a lot of the times- spoilt, stupid and selfish... Then again- weren't we all when teenagers? There's some serious action happening and I was surprised to laugh quite often...
this a great series. some of situations did not seem appropriate for high. school or realistic but still a great read. At times it seemed parts were just fillers. BUT other than those comments it's worth the money and time escape into a world of lies, lust, and suspense.
Omg I was totally on the edge of my seat reading definitely a must read. I am so glad the series ended the way it did I may have been heartbroken if not all though I was shocked about Brooklyn I thought he would end up living happily ever after. Great series can't wait to read what's next.
