Fyi - The first 62% of this novella was first featured in the All I Want anthology that was released before Christmas. So if you think this is the same book it should be noted there are seven additional chapters...that were in my opinion not worth $2.99 to read.

Here is my review of the portion of 12 Days of Forever that we were given in the anthology:

This story is about Harrison's sister, Yvie, the ballerina that lives in NYC. We were introduced to her in My Unexpected Forever. She had a douche of a boyfriend and I was hoping we were going to get more of her story. So I was excited that this was hers!

Yvie is on hiatus for the holidays and she's feeling homesick. She misses Harrison and her nephew, Quinn, and she's looking forward to getting to know her sister-in-law and nieces. She surprises Harrison when she shows up in Beaumont.

Now I was thinking maybe the H would be the remaining band member but it's Xander, Jimmy's personal trainer. After helping Jimmy with his PT when he was shot, the guys from 4225 West supported Xander in opening his own gym.

Xander is looking for love and although he's attracted to Yvie he doesn't see a future for them because of the long distance so he's hesitant to even start anything while she's in town. Yvie has other plans.

The only part I didn't like was when Yvie and Xander first had sex. It was just odd. I thought it was a dream sequence. It seemed so out of character for them both. Plus it was just plain awkward.

Also, this story is not complete. It's just a sneak peek of the story to come in early 2015. (Which is this novella and that brings us to now).

Continuing on, Yvie decides at the last minute to stay in Beaumont to spend more time with Xander. I know it's a novella and things tend to be more rushed or condensed but we were left with even more questions and no answers. And not even in a cliffhanger kind of way, I felt shortchanged. Is that it? What are they planning on doing about the long distance? Her dancing career? The tour? Is Oliver really done? What's up with Liam and Josie? I gave four stars to the portion that was in the anthology and truth be told I would rather have been left hanging than be given these last lazy one star chapters. Shocked and disappointed.

**2.5 stars**

The Beaumont Series is one of my Favorite Series. Spending more time with Liam, JD and Harrison was AWESOME! Spending times with Noah, Quinn and the Twins AMAZING! And let's not forget the girls! Jo, Katelyn and Jenna! I was looking forward to read Yvie's story. She's Harrison's little sister, but I have to say she's 4225 West's little sister. The story was sweet. It's a novella so things a little bit rushed. What I didn't like was the ending. It didn't feel like an ending. I needed more.

Yvie James lives in New York and all she has ever dreamed about being is a ballerina and dancing in the shows. Though looks like her dream are on the rocks as her current boyfriend Oliver - the show's producer has gotten on her last nerve. She wants to break up with him as he is always putting her down and damaging her self-esteem, especially with all the new and upcoming young ballet stars. Though if she breaks up with him, it could be the worst decision for her career, as a producer he holds the power and could chuck her from the show or even worse - blacklist her from the world of ballet. With Christmas heading up and a small break in the show, Yvie heads home to Beaumont to stay with her brother Harrison and catch up with friends like Liam. Harrison you will remember from My Unexpected Forever and Liam from My Forever Girl. While in town, Yvie meets newcomer and local gym trainer Xander aka Alexander. He is the town's hottie and hottest bachelor; all the girls want him but he has never been interested in dating or sleeping with clients until now. He is uncertain though, as he isn't one for long-distance romances but there is a spark about Yvie that makes Xander want to know and at least try. Of course, for this to happen, Yvie needs to make a choice about not only her life, and plans but who she would like to spend her future with.
This was another awesome read in the Beaumont series and as I was stuck in an indecisive moment about what to read - Heidi McLaughlin is one of my go-tos and 12 days of Forever did not disappoint.

My goal is to finish this series. That being said, the title gives away that this is an instalove story; this installment is also a novella. I do not find joy in instalove because it’s unrealistic and being a novella it’s rushed. I prefer novellas to be follow-ups to characters we’ve already had a complete novel on. This novella introduced two brand new characters. Getting to know the characters, their current life situations, and the numerous romantic interactions lead to a heavy side of sex and lesser focus on building a connection to the characters.

This is such a cute novella. I loved seeing them both together both healing each other in some way.

I haven't read the other books in the series but this definitely makes me want to because all the characters have such intriguing back stories. To say this is a novella, the steam is on point and they definitely have some amazing scenes multiple times. Highly recommend.

Read the shorter version in the anthology All I Want.
Liked Xander, an all around good guy at a crossroad in his life. Yvie was at a crossroad, too. The author did a good setting up their backstories, so we get their obstacles and acknowledge their dreams. The author did her part to lay it all out there.
Yvie (sorry, these characters nicknames are too cheesy for me LOL) has some big decisions ahead of her, muddled with a recent breakup (seemed like teenage angst IMHO...if I breakup with the quarterback ((but I love him for him, not because he's the most popular boy in school)) will I still make head cheerleader?), and, what seems like her reaction to our smexy and willing hero, a little bit of unfulfilled need with a side of body image issues.
I should have felt empathy. Or cheered her on for breaking things off with her douchebag ex. Or been happy she has her family and friends to offer support. But I felt none of those things. Yvie came across to me as a woman who made choices that were in line with her goals. Many of which she accomplished. I can't feel sorry for her. And all her poor me, whoa as me, inner dialog didn't make me want to coddle her nor pat her on the head and give her a Christmas cookie to make it all better. I hope that the revised, longer version has our heroine own her choices and grow the hell up. Xander (really with these nicknames) deserves better than whine and cheese.
Honestly? I liked reading about her brother Harrison and the other guys lives. They were better developed and interesting...and I haven't even read a single book in the series!

This was an okay book. You have Xander who is the bands physical trainer and Yvie who is Hamilton's sister.
A few things weren't appealing. The fact that this macho guy kept blushing...really? Also why was it mentioned that Liam was shy, since when? I know this book isn't about Liam and Josie but since Liam has went on and on about how much Josie means to him, why was he an ass at their anniversary party? Totally ignores her and thinks nothing is wrong with it. I knew he was a dick and in each book he is mentioned it is made clearer that my opinion isn't going to change about him.
Yvie is just out of a relationship and isn't sure what she wants to do with her life and career. Xander falls for instantly.
There is no declaring of love, no talk of being in a relationship. This book just kind of leaves you hanging wondering where they are going with their relationship.
Will Xander move to NY or will Yvie move to Beaumont? Who knows?
Very disappointing!

This was a very short story. It was sweet and nothing more.
I loved the h but adored the H even more. I mean, Mmmmmmmm ... he's so hot and sexy. I wish he were real. But in this story, he's too nice for my hero. I liked my heroes gruff and aloof but since this was a short one, I let it go.
Wish there was more.

I likes the story line of Yvie and Xander. Not a fan of the cover art...probably wouldn’t have read the book if it wasn’t a part of the series. All in all, a good story.

A kind of prequel, with a Christmas atmosphere about Xander (Jimmy's trainer) and Yvie (Harrison's sister). Something like "everything stays with the family".

12 Days of Forever is Yvie and Xander's story. It starts with Yvie travelling to Beaumont, with Xander alternating the chapters. Yvie is homesick, she misses her family, she misses her 'brothers' Liam and Jimmy, and she also wants to get to know Katelyn and the twins better. After scathing comments from Oliver, Yvie decides to get out of New York and visit Harrison for Christmas

12 Days of Forever was a quick read, and like the previous books follows the pattern of alternating chapters.
Yvie's chapters give us a look into Yvie and also her childhood with Harrison, what they went through and how they tried to make ends meet. How Harrison was supportive of everything Yvie wanted to do. It also allows Yvie to reflect on her life, and Harrison's life now, and how different it is. We get to see more of the mysterious Yvie we have only ever glimpsed before now, and see the dynamic relationships she has with Liam and Jimmy, who are for all intents and purposes, her brothers.....her very over protective brothers (Harrison and Liam) and the brother how likes to make a joke out of things but also threaten bodily harm (Jimmy)

Xander is also a new face on the scene, and although we do get to delve into his mind, he still remains a mystery, his past, his family, all of that is still kept hidden from us, but we do get to see a lot of different sides to him.....I also won't be looking at a gym in the same way anymore.

12 Days of Forever is a great addition to The Beaumont Series, and while I have already read this in an anthology, I am super happy that Heidi has added more chapters to the story, which makes having a second copy worth while.

I'm going to leave you with this little quote from the book, I think it says a lot about the story itself, but also about Yvie and her future.

You can't live your life by someone else's dreams. They have to be your own and just because it was a dream at one point, doesn't mean it's your dream now. The beautiful thing about dreams is that they're ever changing.

I honestly wasn't sure if I wanted to give this book 3 or 4 stars. I wanted to give it three stars because to me it felt like such a short little story, and that kind of bothered me. But ultimately I gave it 4 stars simply because in truth it's a novella. They're supposed to be short stories. And for short story it was a very entertaining read. You got all aspects that you would want out of a novella within a series. You got to continue on to a new character and see their relationship grow, you got previous characters and where their lives are now, and you got to feel a part of the family again. I wasn't quite sure how the author was going to pull this one off but I really liked what she went with it. I will say this this book just kind of ends, and you don't really get a conclusion until the final book of the series. It actually isn't as bad as it sounds because then it makes what you learn in the Nextbook just that much more exciting. Overall it was a very quick read, a very entertaining read, and I love being with by Beaumont Family.

Okay, so any time there is something even remotely related to Christmas or the Holidays, I know I'm going to enjoy it.

I have been reading this series and enjoying each of the books, but for some reason, this one hit home with me almost instantly.

To me, the characters cliqued instantly and there wasn't too much drama, detracting from the storyline.

I love the connection between Xander and Yvie and the days they got to spend together. Yvie wanting to get to know her new nieces better and spending time with her brother, Harrison and his family hit home with me.

The only thing I didn't like was the ending and it wasn't an ending, but a cliffhanger. Good thing I plan to read the next book/last book in the series soon.

Yvie is a very nice girl who doesn't really know what she wants and she kind of gets the best of both worlds with a lot of messy on both sides.
The plot was nice and the characters are very cute together and everything but I was so not expecting the book to end like that, I was a little dissapointed. I was expecting more, I mean they didn't even defined the relationship , I was expecting at least that and what happened next? Did she move, did he? What happened to their careers? So many questions left unanswered...

I really like Yvie and Xander as a couple, think they are cute, but I felt like the book ended suddenly with nothing resolved.

I found myself laughing at the guys, Liam, Harrison and JD. They were so protective of Yvie, yet gave Xander so much crap. I was a bit surprised at how Yvie ripped Liam a new one at the party, but Liam deserved it. It was nice to see how the ladies welcomed Yvie. She needed the friends.

I loved getting more Beaumont! Heidi did well with this novella, and while it was a quick, light read I absolutely loved it! Xander and Yvie are perfect together. Xander is the personal trainer for 4225 West, and Yvie is Harrison's younger sister, and seeing how their relationship worked out was definitely worth the wait.

And that cover is absolute perfection!
