Hide and Seek #2

Ready or Not

Rate this book
Her mind birthed the monster, but his wicked obsession set it free. Just when forensic pathologist, Harper-Rayn, thought she had put her horrifying stalker behind her, a new threat is born from the depths of her trauma. More sinister and calculated than ever before.

This new stalker is as real as they come. Emerging not as a hallucination, but as a living nightmare, one that’s been waiting for her longer than she could have ever known, watching from the shadows and anticipating his chance to strike.

The masked terror brings Harper’s past to life, twisting her mind with fear and unease. He manipulates her every move and as he watches her unravel, he leaves just enough doubt to question her own sanity. Is she going crazy? Losing her mind? And after everything she’s already suffered through, who’s going to believe her now?

No one… except the one man she should never want.

Her forbidden lover, her delicious step-uncle, Knight Slater.

Determined to unravel this twisted web of secrets, obsession, and betrayal, and put an end to Harper’s suffering once and for all, Knight must face the impossible—even if it means sacrificing himself to protect the one woman he’s ever loved—the one woman he should never have touched.

As the masked figure closes in, Harper will risk it all—not just her career and reputation, but a love that defies every boundary, to stop a madman who’s determined to finish what her nightmares started.

Ready or not, he’s coming for you.

Ready or Not is the second book in The Hide and Seek Duet and completes Harper and Knight's story. It is a pitch black stalker romance and is recommended for mature readers.

Will write up my full review when my faulty internet is fixed..

After falling down that cliffy with the previous book the count down started waiting eagerly for this to land on my iPad, because that cliffy was brutal!!

And this picked up right where that cliffy left off. Harper left bleeding out in the hospitals underground car park, and we were the first ones to read it all go down..

A deadly masked unhinged man..

The problem with that…who would believe her…

She’s on her own..No one will believe her or take her serious..

So begins a deadly game of cat and mouse.

More twists and turns, deadly consequences, mayhem and chaos walk hand in hand, blood will be spilled, deaths will occur, and the ones that walk away won’t be unscathed..

This book, like the previous had me sitting on the edge of my seat, whipped lashed into submission by the utter madness that came Harper’s way, but with Knight by her side throughout it all had me racing through those pages.

So many times I giggled, more times I swooned. Definitely a series not to be missed.

This book absolutely screwed with my emotions and I loved every second of it. 4.5 ⭐️

I adored this duet. Harper and Knight are perfect for each other, and the storyline is killer. Literally.

If you love an FMC who is witty, hilarious, and just a little unhinged, Harper will steal your heart. She’s the constant life of the party, while Knight is the steady protector who puts up with her chaos and loves her unconditionally. Their dynamic is everything.

There were moments where I was smirking and laughing at Harper’s antics, only to turn the page and find myself on the verge of tears after a sudden shift in the storyline. The emotional whiplash hit hard in the best way.

Please check the trigger warnings. While this book isn’t dark per se, it does contain darker elements that could be triggering for some readers.

Overall, I absolutely loved this duet and hope it wrecks you just as beautifully as it did me.

Ready or not?
Absolutely the 𝗳𝘂𝗰𝗸 𝗻𝗼𝘁

What in the 5 twisted, unhinged, morally-corrupt chaos stars?! I’ll be honest, the first 30% had me side-eyeing the direction... but once it hit I was locked in, seatbelt on, unable to look away. Totally messed up. Completely addictive.
The one liners had me cackling, the spice was spicing and yet I still spent most of this book with my jaw on the floor wondering how things could keep escalating (they did)

And this FAMILY. Dear god. The dysfunction. The manipulation. Every interaction felt like emotional warfare and I spent most of the book thinking surely this can’t get worse… ughh it absolutely does!

It’s fucked up. It’s addictive. It’s the kind of dark romance that makes you uncomfortable and exhilarated at the same time! Is this a thing??🫣

AND THE BREADCRUMBS???
Izzy. Diesel. Ace.
That RH energy was LOUD and I will not be ignoring it 👀

Wild, toxic, unhinged perfection. A brutal, feral conclusion to DARK romance duet that had me questioning my taste and immediately wanting more!

Thank you @sheridan.anne.author for the advanced reader copy! Forever grateful for the opportunity to read and review early🖤🥰

I was frothing at the mouth to get my hands on this one. And i was lucky enough to recieve and ARC

Harper is the ultimate FMC she is witty, snarky and a whole lot badass and even unhinged. She works in the morgue but at this point our girl should just live in the hospital.
An we have Mr Knight, Our Swat team leader, the taboo uncle but damn boy you were in my bad books- you are lucky you redeemed yourself because damn you made me so mad.

Considering this was a dark romance Ch 11/12 had me with the second hand embarrassment and the uncontrollable giggling- i was so not prepared for this.

It’s the kind of story that keeps the book glued to your hands with you on the edge of your seat and your heart racing and your emotions at an all time high. Thanks for messing with my mind and emotions once agian. To me this was way more than just a dark stalker romance, this is a story about strength, survival, being trusted and not being doubted while choosing to fight for your life and your people.

ARC REVIEW | Ready or Not by Sheridan Anne | Book 2 of the duet

This book emotionally picked me up, spun me like a rotisserie chicken, and then launched me directly into the sun.

I felt EVERY emotion known to mankind.
Happy. Sad. Rage-fueled feral goblin.
Shocked into silence. Screaming.
Whispering “what the actual f—” to myself at 2am.
Needing therapy.
Being a little turned on….Then being A LOT turned on.

I screamed down the hallway at my partner. Multiple times. Like… full updates.
“NO BECAUSE YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND WHAT JUST HAPPENED.”

I could NOT put this book down. Not for food. Not for sleep. Not for sanity. Miss Anne has that dangerous pen. The kind that lulls you into thinking you’re safe and then bam… emotional whiplash, plot grenade, soul damage.

I had theories. She laughed. She burned them.
She threw them into the void.
Then she hit me with a curveball I did NOT see coming and I am still on the floor.

I want to give spoilers so badly it hurts my bones… but I won’t.

Her writing drags you in and refuses to let go. So much happens, constantly, relentlessly, deliciously. You’re gripping the book. You’re craving answers. You’re telling yourself “just one more chapter” like a liar.

The characters?
Sarcastic. Hilarious. Unhinged in the best way.
The best friends? Absolute standouts. Scene stealers. Icons.

An absolute banger of a book.
Rating: yes. Just yes.

Ready Or Not picks up where Hide and Seek left off with Harper-Rayn laying the parking lot after being harmed by her “stalker”. At this point our girl should just live in the hospital. Harper is just trying to live and move past everything but this stalker is just popping up. I have thoughts on if the stalker is someone in her life or a rando. This maybe a stalker romance but chapter 12 will have you giggling the entire time! What Harper is going through is breaking my heart. I believe her. Knight is very much my woman, my woman. He don’t play about our girl, he stands ten toes down for her( he if he may or may not believe her). These two work( step-uncle and all)! Friends things are happening and happening fast. I’m sitting here like I know you’re lying. Harper’s mother is a piece of work. Random question: are we getting an Izzy/Diesel/Ace book? We need something because the tension and banter are too good. I know if I went through half the stuff Harper has I would lock myself into a room immediately! The twist and turns that are happening are giving me whiplash I can’t keep up! At one point I was screaming at Harper I love your fire but sit your ass down. We are the meat and potatoes now and it is very well seasoned. I’m salivating!! The last twenty percent the foot was on the gas and we were flooring it! Before I forgot, despite the craziness we had spic and boy was it delicious . There was some hate f*****g and it was muy caliente!!! This book was chefs kiss! I am so in awe of the stories authors write and this one was no exception. I will say my theories were right, but how they played out was perfection. Ready Or Not will keep you on your toes. It was devoured in a day, it was that good!!

I had a theory about the answers to the questions left for us at the end of Hide and Seek and I was right! However, I was not ready for the twisted lengths that this book would go to. Wow, just wow. At every turn I was shocked by the depravity of her stalker and the surprises that came to light as more was revealed.
There is not much that can be said without giving away any of the spoilers, so I won’t. Part of the experience of the book was not knowing what was coming around the corner.
Knight and Harper-Rayn, hit some bumps in the beginning, but that was a given considering the events happening, but it didn’t stop the connection or the spice that they had in the first book and they just stepped it up in this one.
The side characters developed more in this story and makes me want to see what happens with them.
Ready or Not had me hooked from page one, the anticipation and suspense throughout had me squirming in my seat.
Sheridan knows how to go dark and drag us all along for the ride. I love it. Ready for what’s next.

Ready or not?? What a perfect title for this absolutely chaotic mess of a book. My emotions were all over the dang place. The book started off right where book 1 ended and she just hit the ground running!!

There was never a dull moment in the entirety of this book. We got more of the sass that is Harper and Izzy. I swear the crap that comes out of their mouths when they’re together is GOLD I laughed so much!!

Knight and Harper have a lot of hurdles to jump over in this book. Their relationship is tested. Their lives are tested. It was insane. The plot twists in this book made my head spin. I see you Sheridan Anne. There’s a reason I gravitate to your crazy books!

Now, I’m going to need a Diesel book in the near future because that broody man is a whole snack that I need to devour 🫠 and I’m not against a why choose situation 😮‍💨

The characters in this duet are unforgettable. One story line was crazy yet genius. I never blew through a book so fast in my life!! If you love a stalker romance with SWAT men galore, add this crazy ride your tbr! Just make sure to buckle up and enjoy the ride!!

Ready or Not kept me on my toes from start to finish, with sharp twists and the perfect blend of psychological suspense, looming danger, and action-packed tension. The found family vibes add a refreshing sense of warmth and belonging, grounding the story while the FMC navigates increasingly uncertain and dangerous waters (and of course, dragging the protective alpha male along for the ride while he tries to protect her 😆).

Picking up straight from the cliffhanger of book one, this story hits the ground running. Despite the dark premise of a stalker determined to get his hands on the FMC, the banter and well-timed dark humour balance the tension perfectly. The chemistry between the MCs is off the charts, making the story even more gripping and addictive.

Thank you to Sheridan Anne and team for the ARC! 🙌

Being lucky enough to get the ARC copy of a book by your favourite author is a surreal feeling. Having read and adored Hide and Seek I was ecstatic to see an email telling me I got an ARC copy. Instantly I put down everything and made it my mission to boss through this book.

I’ve DNFd a lot of books recently, because they weren’t hitting the spot, were poorly written or just had tropes that I didn’t enjoy in them. However, always loving everything Sheridan publishes I didn’t expect this book to be another DNF and I’m thankful it wasn’t.

From the dedication alone I knew this book was going to be special. It was already bringing the energy I needed and always desired from any book, but especially a dark romance book.

Stalker romances are one of my favourite tropes, but only if they are well executed. Having read Sheridan’s other stalker romances I knew she would do this well, and as someone who always wanted a series from every standalone Sheridan released, I’m glad that we got a second book on the Hide and Seek duet.

One thing I fell in love with about this book from chapter 1, is that some other duets or series you read whilst the previous novel may end on a cliffhanger, the following book has a bit of a time jump, this does not. So if you’ve read Hide and Seek and wanted to know what happened with Harper-Ryan, then you’re in luck. You’re about to find out the rest of the story with no questions left unanswered.

There are moments you’re going to want to cry. There are moments you may laugh but overall it’s a great story and there’s a lovely HEA.

I’d love to see the third book happen that would be focused on Izzy’s story, because it’s left me wanting more. Hell, I’d be up for Sheridan doing something like Kylie Kent and making a whole universe where all the characters connect.

I loved this book from the dedication right up to the closing paragraph. It was an easy read, enjoyable. Plenty of spicy scenes, and lots of good vibes and drama.

Also, the artwork scattered through the book is a great touch that I really enjoy.

Ready or Not starts off where Hide and Seek ended, with Harper-Rayn finding herself in the parking garage after an encounter with a new stalker, a real one. Knowing he isn’t a hallucination doesn’t make her feel any better, because she knows that if she tells anyone, they won’t believe her, given that this man is too close to the one her mind conjured up. Even knowing she has Knight by her side, ready to leave it all on the line for her, she doesn’t know if this challenge is one they’ll be able to work through together.

Knight has never cared that he’s supposed to stay away from Harper, and with her living under his roof he feels like the pieces of his life are finally coming together. If only she could stop ending up in the hospital. Determined to keep her safe at all costs, he struggles between trusting her instincts and his own, but even when he’s not sure what to believe, nothing will stop him from burning the world to ashes for her.

I was so excited to receive an early copy of this book from the author as I had been counting down the days for its release! I didn’t know if she would be able to top book 1 of the duet but once again, Sheridan blows my mind. She is somehow able to make me laugh to tears one chapter, and have my heart racing in panic the next. Harper and Knight are perfect together in the most dysfunctional way, but somehow they are the only ones able to match each other’s energy. Even though I had my suspicions about the stalker’s identity at the end of Hide and Seek, the twists upon twists still kept me engaged and guessing until the end.

This is a Pitch Black not just Dark Romance and holy hell is it GOOD!!!! Sheridan is one of my favorite authors and for a damn good reason..... She once again wrote a banger (Also the books are gorg) You won't just read about these characters you will feel for them, want to be them at times and want to burn the world down for them at others and that is a damn great author..... Like I said one of my top for a good reason.

This book picks up perfectly from where Book One ended. Perfectly!!!! Did I mention PERFECTLY?

Harper-Rayn works in the morgue on nights and has been put through it let me tell you but she just keeps getting back up and fighting. She doesn't let anyone or anything keep her from her work and living life (even herself at times). If you read book one you will understand what I mean. Luckily she now has Knight to help her fight the evil behind the mask.

Knight is a walking stick of candy you just want to eat up C!!! He is the leader of his SWAT and a badass in his own right. This man will walk through fire for the woman he loves. He has a team to back him up at his call. He may jump off skyscrapers into buildings and shoot the bad guys but he will fall to his knees for his woman....

These two are Tattoed, Spicy and Sexy!!!!
Their friends are hilarious and the villain is a 🍆!!!

Thank you Sheridan for letting me read this glorious ARC!! Truly loved it and I I highly recommend to my dark dirty romance lovers 🌶️🩷

Recap: This review is book 2 in the Hide and Seek series. The first two books follow the following characters. Please be mindful of spoilers.

Characters:
FMC: Dr. Harper-Rayn Madden works in the morgue on the night shift, her humor runs dark, she loves tattoos, and is in the fun era of her sexy single life. All to her mother’s dismay. But, now dating Step Uncle Swat Team Leader - Knight.

MMC: Knight aka - Forbidden Step Uncle, SWAT Team Leader for the police and one fine man! This man gives “Yes, Sir” vibes all day long. Loves bossing Harper aka “Doll” aka “Mortica” around.

Thoughts: I thought I was ready and I was not! Holy Cow Sheridan! That was so much to unpack - talk about playing on emotions. If you haven’t read Hide and Seek book 1 - read no further spoilers ahead.

We pick up right where we left off on book 1 - Harper-Rayn hurt and needing surgery. Then the next minute I’m rolling with laughter from her bestie's gift (seriously this scene had me snorting with laughter 😂🤣)

When things start going right for Harper and Knight - she only learns love has doubts. Boy Knight- you messed up, but you learn 😂!

Then just when I think her mother could stoop no lower - she goes even further down the insanity line! Wow just wow!

What we end up with is “You burn, I burn” love story that had me tearing up and rooting for them. Truly enjoyed all the twists and turns it took to get there.

**May contain spoilers**

This was a decent wrap up of this duet and definitely a more suspenseful take on a stalker dark romance.

Our girl Harper-Rayn continues to make terrible life decisions which you’d think at some point she would just you know, stop. Her mother is a whole piece of work that makes me wonder how either of her children even turned out to be somewhat functional.

Knight Slater continues to be delicious and thoughtful. This man, he loves with his whole soul.

I think my main critique is that it seemed like the story went on a little too long. You find out who the stalker is before you are even halfway through and it seems like we had to wait a long time to get to some conclusion. There was a lot of filler and attempts to live a normal life despite knowing the stalker was out there. Also, it might have been interesting to get more insight on why he decided to stalk her…we get some information but I think we could have gotten more of a backstory on all that.

The spice was pretty constant, basically anytime Harper and Knight were in the same space (no matter where that space was) they were going at it. Oh and then let’s not forget the scene in the forest…🥵

I howled 😂 during the red vibrator scene and could not even begin to imagine the level of trauma and embarrassment that happened there.

All in all, I didn’t hate it but definitely felt like it could have been shortened up a bit or we could have used the time to fill in some blanks.

Sheridan Anne absolutely delivered with this one.

That cliffhanger from book one had me feral for this sequel, and let me just say — it was worth the emotional damage. From page one I was locked in, vindicated, and internally screaming because I knew my girl wasn’t crazy.

One of my favorite things about this FMC is that her mental health struggles are part of her story, not her entire personality. She’s still sharp, independent, and mouthy in the best way. The sass? Immaculate. The strength? Even better. Watching her fight for her sanity while the world tries to convince her she’s losing it had me fully in my feelings.

And then there’s Knight… the ultimate forbidden fruit. The tension? Suffocating. The devotion? Unmatched. When the truth finally comes out and his emotional walls crack, Sheridan pulls something so raw and human out of him that it almost hurts to read. His love isn’t soft and sweet — it’s protective, obsessive, and touch her and your 💀 energy we all love. Exactly what this story needed.

It’s gritty. It’s emotional. It’s romantic in that intense, slightly unhinged way Sheridan Anne does so well.

If you love forbidden romance wrapped in suspense, devotion that borders on dangerous, and a heroine who refuses to break, this book needs to be on your TBR immediately.

This is book 2 in this duet and complete Knight and Harper -Rayn's story.

This book picks up right from the end of book 1 and that book MUST read first.

What to expect

💙Age gap Romance
💙Stalker romance
💙Dark Romance
💙Mind games
💙Protective MMC
💙SWAT x Doctor

This duet was absolutely incredible and I love the way this author writes. I love all the twists and turns and real sockers I was sooooooooo hooked I was on edge of my seat. I absolutely loved the way Harper was, her sense of strength and determination was admirable and her sense of humor has me laughing out loud at times. In moments my bones ached for Harper and all she was going through but with Knight and his team at her side they all held each other up.
I loveddddddd how protective Knight was and how he'd do absolutely anything to keep her safe.

The way that this author writes, she never fails to captive me and keep me hooked on the story all the way through never knowing what is coming next. This duet flows throughout fantastically and the way this author brought these characters to life and holds the readers attention throughout is absolutely brilliant. The suspense, the angst, the absolute tension and This family is absolutely crazy.

I'm so excited to read more from Sheridan in the future.

I highly recommend this duet but check your triggers before you start.

Ready of not is everything you loved about Hide and seek, and than add some. This book delivers!
The book is a dark stalker romance and it was a wild ride. I already suspected this (no I didn't suspect the plot), but I'm so glad that what I wished for, came true.
In Ready or not we have the same characters than we had in Hide and seek. Harper-Rayn is a woman that is not only surviving, she is fighting back. While she is still battling her own physical health she's faced yet again with a stalking and the stalker looks to be the same person. This is making her doubt her own mind. Even her boyfriend, Knight, doubts her. That got to do a number on a girl, right?
Lets talk about Knight. He is still the ultimate overprotective boyfriend. He is possessive and ruthless, but when he is alone with Harper-Rayn.... panty melting. I'm just dropping this here: shower scene....
For me the book was a perfect blend between emotional depth, darkness, humor and romance. I love the dark twisted side of this book but I'm aware it won't be for everyone, so please check before reading.
Lastly, I don't want to spoil the twist, but I do want to let you know, Oh it is so satisfying. Perfectly set up. Sheridan really thought this one true.

This book grabs you from page one and does not let go.

Dark, intense, emotional, and completely unputdownable, Ready or Not is a powerhouse finale that blends psychological suspense, high-stakes danger, found family, spice and a fiercely earned romance into one unforgettable ride.

Harper-Rayn is a heroine you can’t help but root for, strong, vulnerable, and determined to survive no matter the cost. Knight and his team bring the perfect mix of tension, loyalty, humor, and heart which adds so much depth to an already gripping story.

This book is a rollercoaster:
💔 Emotional
🔥 Intense
😱 Suspenseful
❤️ Heartfelt
😂 Surprisingly funny in the best moments

It’s the kind of story that keeps your heart racing, your emotions tangled, and the book firmly glued to your hands.

More than just a dark stalker romance, this is a story about strength, survival, being believed, and choosing to fight for your life and your people.

I was lucky enough to read this as an ARC, and I can confidently say this is a flawless, unforgettable conclusion to an incredible duology.

Emotional. Brutal. Powerful. Unmissable. 💔🔥

Tropes:

🖤Dark Romance
🩶Masked Stalker
🖤Forbidden
🩶Forensic Pathologist FMC
🖤SWAT Leader MMC
🩶Unhinged Family
🖤Book 2 in a Duet
🩶Dual POV

From the dedication alone I knew this book was going to be one I couldn’t put down. Ready or Not starts off exactly where Hide and Seek ended with Harper-Rayn in the parking garage. Harper knows she can’t say a word they won't believe her anyway. She can’t even tell Knight.

Knight Slater has never given a thought to being in a relationship until Harper Rayne wrecked his world. Now he’s determined to keep her protected at all costs, If only she could stop finding trouble. Knight struggles with trusting Harper’s gut but now that she’s his world .. you burn I Burn and he’d burn the world down for her.

This is a dark stalker romance with all those elements but what I also enjoyed about it was the banter. Not only between the two main characters, but the side characters of Izzy, Jonah, Ace and Diesel as well.

So if you've already read Hide and Seek and have been waiting to see what happened to Harper book 2 will give you everything you wanted. For those just beginning with Hide and Seek.. Buckle up!

Ready or Not by @sheridan.anne.author

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
🌶️🌶️🌶️.5

@sheridan.anne.author thank you for the ARC - I was obsessed and Knight is literally the MMC of dreams. That man is 🥵.

Ready or Not is the second in the Hide and Seek series and you defo need to read the first one. The cliff hanger ending from Hide and Seek was huge and I was desperate to know what happened. @sheridan.anne.author did not disappoint at all. There was so many twists in the plot, as soon as thought I had worked out what was happening next, boom something changed. The stalker elements in Ready or Not are dark and written so well, there is a real menace to them.

The characters in Ready or Not are everything!!!!! Harper, a FMC with all the rage, all the anger and all the determination. She is absolutely not going to let a crazed stalker beat her. I loved her. I was absolutely obsessed with Knight as the MMC. He is an absolute Daddy. Obsessive, protective, total touch her and die vibes and he works for SWAT 🥵. So many amazing additional characters as well. @sheridan.anne.author if I ask nicely can we have a book for Ace, Diesel and Izzy please?

As always, please check content/trigger warnings as Ready Or Not is a real dark tale with our girl Harper-Rayn struggling with her mental health, masked men, present trauma and a psychotic mother. Who I had hoped would get what was coming to her on more than one occasion. She would have totally deserved it.

Ok so, we get thrown right in where we left off at the end of Hide and Seek with Harper-Rayn alone, and in a lot of trouble. The story is just as fast paced as the first but with more shocking and twisted turns. One I saw coming, but the rest I did not. Momentum never waned, our girl never caught a break until the very end. It kept me on the edge of my seat and I was intrigued right to the very end.

The relationship dynamic between Harper-Rayn and Knight never dulls, they have more than their fair share of ups and downs and I love that they challenge each other. They are both supremely stubborn, do things their way and never compromise. Makes for very entertaining reading!!! It also doesn't hurt that their bedroom chemistry is absolute fire. Smoking hot!!!!

Absolutely loved the entire duet, and I can't wait to see what comes next.x

Harper-Rayn is a magnet for drama - drama which includes a stalker… or two. One stalker is fictional and one is very very real. This stalker is playing for keeps - he wants her and believes she belongs to him which means he will do whatever it takes to have her - even if that means stabbing, beating, assaulting, and kidnapping her. If he can’t have her no one can. However, Knight is not going to allow that to happen. He is literally her knight in shining Kevlar and will walk through fire for her!

Harper and Knight’s love/chemistry is off the charts hot. They go hard to protect those they love and they are relationship goals. Harper was put through so much over a few short months - kind of like a cat with nine lives and Knight was there to get her through it all. After everything they do get their HEA!

Side note: Their besties are awesome and I’m praying we see Diesel, Ace, and Izzy some more - maybe in a why choose?!?

I thought I was ready... I definitely was not 🫣

Sheridan chose violence. Who needs food or sleep when you physically cannot put this down? Emotional support, and likely therapy may be required after finishing 🫠

Ready Or Not picks up right where Hide & Seek left off.... straight back in the chaos that is Harper - Rayn's life.

I went into this thinking I had some idea of what to expect after the first book. I did not. The emotional whiplash was real. Anxiety, laughter, feet-kicking laughter (chapter 11, looking at you 👀), tears, and then a full-blown smile I couldn’t wipe off my face. The ending was everything I needed and more.

Dark, intense, emotionally charged, and impossible to put down.
5 out of 5 unhinged stars ✨️

As always, check your triggers. This one gets a little dark 🖤

Ready or Not takes everything that worked in Hide and Seek and turns the intensity way up. Dark, addictive, and impossible to put down, this story had me locked in from page one.

Harper-Rayn isn’t just trying to survive anymore. She’s pushing back. Still recovering physically, she’s faced with a stalker once again, and the fear of history repeating itself starts to blur the line between reality and doubt. When even Knight questions what’s happening, the tension hits hard.

And Knight is still fiercely protective, still dangerous, and still completely unhinged over Harper-Rayn in the best way. The chemistry is intense and intimate, and yes, that shower scene absolutely deserves the hype.

This story balances darkness, emotion, romance, and just enough humor to keep you breathing. It’s not for everyone, so check your triggers, but if you like your romances twisted and satisfying, this one delivers. And the twist is so worth the wait.

*YOU MUST READ BOOK ONE (Hide & Seek) BEFORE YOU CAN READ THIS - CHECK YOUR TRIGGERS*

What a wild ride this was!
Poor Harper can’t catch a break at all, but at least she has a hunky SWAT boyfriend to go home to.
The spice in this book is soooo good!

After the end of book one I had no idea where this was going, my mind was blown.

I can’t really say much without giving away spoilers but you need to read this book.

I love how protective Knight is of Harper that man has it bad for her and he doesn’t even try to hide it. He just wants to keep her safe…. Even if she makes it hard to do sometimes. But Harper is a fighter and she’s willing to do anything to find out who her stalker is and put an end to him.

There was so many twists and jaw dropping moments I couldn’t put this book down.

I have my fingers crossed that Izzy, Ace and Diesel get a book soon.

‘Ready or Not’ is an absolute MASTERPIECE. I devoured it like it was fresh sliced bread, and I'm still reeling. The dark, twisted suspense? Perfection. But let's talk about the SPICE - those Knight Slater and Harper moments are hot! Sizzling and filled with emotion. The characters relationships have really grown since the first book. And Izzy, Harper's sassy best friend, stole the show for me. Her wit and loyalty are EVERYTHING.

Now, can I PLEASE just get an Izzy spin-off with her two love interests? I need that drama, those vibes, and those swoon-worthy moments!

The way the author weaves complex relationships and psychological games is pure magic. I was on the edge of my seat, desperate for Harper to survive and get her HEA.

If you like pitch black romance, stalkers, and twists that'll blow your mind, READ THIS. Trust me, you won't regret it. I need more.

I have been desperate for this book to arrive on my tablet.
I knew I wouldn't be disappointed, and boy, was this read a roller coaster of a journey.
I had so many questions after Hide and Seek, as well as so many thoughts of where the story was heading.
The thriller element is still throughout, along with the hotness that Sheridan always provides.
My heart ached hard at times, especially when there are so many questions thrown at Harper-Rayn. You'll know exactly what I mean if you've read Hide and Seek.
But Harper-Rayn owned every part of herself and wasn't overly apologetic for it.
Knight's character came full circle for me and eventually became the man Harper-Rayn needed.

I couldn't put this book down. I love all the elements Sheridan put into it, and you can tell her enjoyed this story through her beautiful writing.

I wonder what is next from Sheridan...

Holy crap I can’t express how much I loved this duet. I was WAITING for this second book to come out and man Sheridan didn’t disappoint even a little. This has become my new favorite of hers and that says a lot. Harper and Knight are some of the best characters I have ever read. Their relationship, their determination and all of the insane twists thrown their way make everything about them amazing. How easily Harper can joke and be silly no matter the trauma of her stalker and so much more. Without giving away any spoilers, let me just say Sheridan is the queen of a good plot twist!! As much as I hated waited for book two, it was worth it. Having this be a duet made everything so much more intense. I will be recommending this book to everyone !
